I have a 05 scion tc and it starts to rattle. I don't know if it's the timing tensioner or VVT-I sprockets or the chain itself. Still rattle when the engine is cold or hot. I'm guessing it's the timing tensioner but I maybe wrong here. Any help will be appreciated
I had the rattle on start up...figured it was the vvt but decided to change out the tensioner as it was leaking anyways...much better now!..I'm not going to mess with the vvt.
I'm having an issue reinstalling my tensioner. The tensioner is compressed and locked and it won't fully go back into the bore by 1/4” and is stopping against the timing chain guide slipper. Is the solution as you demonstrated to turn the cam with a 24mm wrench?
Here all is wrong . The tensioner is old , better to replace with new and new metal gasket. Never use silicone on that part of the engine, and especially why he did
I have a code P0015 and I don't know what else to do. I already disassembled it 4 times, everything is on time, start the car the light turns on check engineer the car is accelerated ,Help me 2008 Scion xD 1.8L.
Hi, Well. Maybe some electric connector or cable is loosen or damaged? And check also these: Dirty Oil, Variable Valve Timing (VVT) circuit is open or shorted, Oil Control Valve (OCV) circuit is open or shorted, Faulty variable valve timing (VVT), Faulty oil control valve (OCV), and Damaged ECM
