The way he dances seems underwhelming for most people but if you look and listen closely to his skill and musicality they'd realise how awesome he is. And if you made his freestyle into a routine and try to do it, then they'd realise how difficult what he does is.

I don't see a problem with Larry

I think Laurent was just happy to finally be healthy and have a chance to really battle. I don't think they battled at all in 2018 outside of Battle Bad where somehow Laurent didn't make it past preselections when he had the best freestyle there. He killed it and really looked like he was outclassing Larry in 2017 during their exhibition battles and the KOD battles after going nuclear in 2016 at the Red Bull event even vs Larry where he easily beat him too. Larry might just be in a creativity funk or experimental stage imo after losing Battle Bad. Same thing happened in like 2013/2014 when he was trying out a lot of new stuff at Ghetto Styles Fusion.

I agree, I think Larry just needs to lab more or he's in the process of it. Since 2017 he hasn't looked that good in his battles, although I think he should've won Battle Bad in 2018. He had 2 good rounds in all of the UK event and both of his rounds here were only ok. Laurent was hard carrying him, which isn't too surprising. Larry very's odd, when he's alone I feel like he pretty much always wins his battles even if the judges disagree like RBH, vs Majid (tie imo), vs Icee (tie imo), Battlezone, Battle Bad, and vs L'eto. When he's with Laurent Larry consistently loses his rounds vs good dancers with Laurent winning his hard like all of JD this year, vs Old Future, vs Waydi & Rochka, some KOD rounds, and some Krump battles early on. Then Laurent when he's alone loses quite a bit like vs Mufasa, Fabrice (first time, 2nd Laurent should've won imo), Freak Sinatra (Laurent won imo), Alpha Jack (Laurent won imo), Paradox, Salah, and Killason (Laurent definitely won that).

Completely disagree when it comes to the London qualifiers, but I do agree that he did not bring his A game at all at the Juste Debout in Paris.

@@littlekettle5759 What rounds were good for Larry? None of them were terrible, but in the quarter finals Larry definitely lost his round, semis he at best tied, and in the finals he finally won his rounds decisively.

Tyler I do think that Lauren’t been carrying for the most part, but I think we’re used to seeing the twins kill it to songs they know. In a hip hop event where songs are unpredictable, I’d say they managed pretty well given the fact that they’ve been out of the battle scene for a while. I think in their rounds vs filo and bogdan Larry’s round was a tie but Laurent is what got them the win. In the semi-finals I think Larry ended up earning it for me because Shin was all over the place; a lot of power but not enough structure. And obviously the final the twins both killed it. I think overall Larry’s strong suit is looking clean and sharp with his movements, and even if you’re not on beat or powerful at times I think a clean and sharp visual can take it away. Like Zyko and Dykens vs Kuty and Rubix at Juste Debout this year, a lot of people say Rubix and Kuty got robbed, but I think Zyko and Dykens rightfully got the win because they were clean and methodical about it, whereas Rubix and Kuty, especially Rubix, was all power but all over the place, which does make it feel sloppier than their opponent. I think if Rubix contained himself a little more (just like if Shin maybe contained himself a little more), it could have been a tied game.

@@littlekettle5759 Clean doesn't always mean good. My main criticism of Larry is that he'll be too caught up in subtle musicality and clean movements that overall a round will look very underwhelming. Basically dances an entire round like how people dance when they're getting a feel for the music. Larry is extremely dependent on beatkilling to impress since his dance style on its own isn't as appealing as other top dancers like Laurent, Skitzo, Paradox, and others. Waydi is another top dancer with a similar issue. So in these events when the twins don't have the songs memorized, Laurent shines so much brighter since he legitimately freestyles all the time. If you watch their workshops and freestyles you can tell Larry reuses a ton of material when dancing to the same song and pretty much is amazing at being prepared while Laurent never dances the same and freestyles completely. It's why when you see them connecting it's pretty much always Laurent backing up Larry with Larry only getting on their routines or moves they share.
