George Vaikoso aka Fiji, is actually the pioneer of the *"Pacific Island* Sound" that blends in the reggaeton, & island reggae and took it to another lever for the Islands. His voice is the gold that set the tone for Pacific Island Reggae music artists such as Spawnbreezie, JBoog, Laga Savea, and other Polynesian music artists who were inspired by Fiji's style and came years a bit after him. If you want something as authentically close to a Hawaiin Island sound without the reggae sound, you'd have to listen to *IZreal aka bruddah IZ,* and other legendary Hawaiian artists like The Makaha Sons, or even Kapena. *Kapena* was the Hawaiian group from back in the 80's & 90's who tapped in a bit of that reggae feel tone to their Hawaiian music a bit. They kept it Hawaiian but with a bit of light reggae rhythm in it. Hawaiians do a bit of hip hop too but its not their homebase sound. For the Samoan & Tongans they are more of Reggae like the Hawaiians, but also just as evenly more into hip hop and R&B it's more to our liking at the most. Polynesian music is just basically a mix of inspiration from the mainstream that we are all fans of, like the huge pop stars, hip hop artists, r&b, a little country too, mostly reggae. In the end, authentic Polynesian sound is our most original. We only adapted to the sounds of reggae that may have fit right in with our feels and just became Island Music.
