Another Ozzy Osbourne banger. Randy Rhoades is an animal on the guitar. I cannot wait to do more of a deeper dive into their music. I also want to dive more into Black Sabbath.
Here is my reaction to hearing Ozzy Osbourne - Mr Crowley for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

This song was inspired by a book about Aleister Crowley that Osbourne had read, and a deck of tarot cards found in the studio as recording of the album was commencing. Crowley was an English occultist and ceremonial magician who had founded the Thelemite religion in the early 20th century.

@jdbroders64
@jdbroders64 7 месяцев назад
Exactly. I was alive when he tragically died and he wanted to temporarily quit performing to further study music at the University level. He was going to take a break to enhance his knowledge of music theory, composition etc. He wasn't 'quitting" music. Far from it. With that said, for the all to brief period he was with us he was one of the greats in so many ways. Back in the day, I had a guitar instructor that had briefly known Randy and to paraphrase he said of Randy "He was a gem of a guy. A truly good guy." Everything I've ever read about Rhoads indicates that's true.

Randy Rhodes and Eddie Van Halen were rivals in LA at the time and the people who knew, knew that RR was the superior guitar player but EVH had a band named after him that was quickly becoming one of the most popular bands of the time and Randy was in Quiet Riot which was kind of a 80s garage hair band. So history judges as it does. But the proof is in the pudding.

The riding his white horse line is an allusion to the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
@GHOST5663
@GHOST5663 6 месяцев назад
True, but that is an incorrect translation in the KJV bible. When translated from the original Greek text to English no rider is mentioned. "And I looked and behold a horse white and the sitting on it having a bow and was given to him a crown and he went forth overcoming and that he might conquer" No rider there, what is described is a Centaur who were expert archers. Crown in Greek is Corona (virus) Bow in Greek is Toxon (Toxin) Horses are symbols for swiftness, quick delivery and this one is white representing medical profession.
@ericfisher1360
@ericfisher1360 6 месяцев назад
@@GHOST5663 I doubt it. Who the horsemen are depends on if you are a dispensationalist or a preterist. The 4 horsemen are judgements in any case. I don't see any hermenutical reason to belive that the white rider represents the medical profession. Morphology of a word is a bad method of hermeneutic partially because it only works in english.
@GHOST5663
@GHOST5663 6 месяцев назад
@@ericfisher1360 I had to look up three words in that reply. Thank you. You obviously have some knowledge in this. My understanding of Revelations is that it is prophesy, written in advance of an outcome already secured. These texts have been mistranslated by accident and purposefully and with ill intent to misdirect the faithful over hundreds of years. I believe that 2020 was the breaking of the first seal. The four horsemen are worldwide events, unveilings of the seals which need to be broken in order to usher in the reign of Apollyon. Genesis is the end, Revelations is a new beginning. I would appreciate your thoughts.

You just can't beat the 80's for this style of music with the big guitar solos. Good choice.

You gotta watch live version of this song recorded in 1981. You must see Randy play. Just amazing.
