Another dumb story. When my oldest son turned 16 the wife threw him a big party. So when he was finished opening everyone else's gifts I went and got the truck he kept eying that my friend had for sale. Of course I did a restoration on the old girl. But after he took it for a ride I handed him another box. He started pulling the contents out and everyone started giving me the you are fucked up looks. Inside I put a roll of paper towels, a bottle of lube, a Playboy, and a bag of carrots. He took off after he pulled everything out. My wife after him. I was following too because I was tired of the dirty looks. Lol But my wife says don't worry about this. You know your father is an asshole not knowing I was just about to round the corner before his door. He says mom I'm not mad. I was just coming upstairs to try out my new gift. Now I entered the room. He says dad I love my new truck, the other gift is awesome. But why a bag of carrots. Well son you know how everyone says you will go blind from jerking off. If you eat a carrot with your left hand while jerking you will never go blind. Now let's go back out to the barn so I can laugh at e1 that hasn't got a sense of humor, and don't understand gag gifts. Especially your uncle (who is a preacher). I really want to hear the your going to hell comments today. Lol Now will you finally Do My dark place alone by Murderdolls. It's a Joey Jordison band. Where he plays guitar instead of drums in the videos, and live. In the studio he played every instrument. The singer Wednesday 13 sharing, and alternating instruments during the recordings. The late, and great Ben Graves played the drums during the filming of videos, and during concerts. You will probably know one of his songs with the band Dope. They played a song in the original Fast & furious. The song is Debonair and it was playing when they were raiding Johnny Trans wharehouse, and parents home. But anyways when my Bi Polar starts hitting me hard, and the mood cycling, and depression are hard to deal with My dark place alone is my go to song. It's dark for some and wouldn't help. But for me I listen to the lyrics and think damn someone understands.

I truly believe this song is about Experiences when you’re really young. Those Bad Experiences may stay with and hunt you everyday. That’s why we see a child inside that man’s head, and that Child is inside a shell, which represents his innocence that he’s unable to do anything about the things that’s happening around him. You were obviously reacted to Daddy by Korn before, Jonathan Davis went through a bad experience in his childhood, so as Corey Taylor, so you can even relate this song to their past as well. In my flat we were playing Korn all morning, then Rock Feed have just uploaded a video on them, then this! We're all thinking alike today 😁 their video's called "The Tragic History of Korn", they did one for Slipknot too, not sure if you could react to them as they're 20-30 mins long but definitely worth checking out! They're a great channel, and as I don't use any other social media they're my main source of updates for the metal community.

My interpretation of the song revolves around Dissociation, the way Korn depicts the labyrinth in the mind of that person seems to me what my dissociation is like, you create a world for escape and the exterior becomes irrelevant, the lyrics also say: "It's kind of a mess, too recless for you." Which to me would imply that the nature of what is built in the escape of a world is too deep and complex for those with lack of understanding or the judgmental ones who refuse to think or try to empathize merely because it is out of their perception. The lyrics: "The walls I have built inside" for me confirm that theory, as dissociation really is building a safe fortress in one's head.

"I feel like we're friends (we're obviously not friends, that would be fucking awesome)..." That's Corey. Corey and Jonathan both. That's because they're genuine dudes who enjoy the music for music's sake, and they're both great fun to chat with. Met Jonathan in 2006 after Head left Korn, and Corey in 2012 while he was doing some of his solo shows. Don't worry, you can call them friends. All of us are family of sorts in the metal community. Lord knows we bicker with each other like a family at thanksgiving over some stupid shit sometimes.

During the recording of this album, Corey Taylor called the producer and Johanthan said he thought that Corey is the only person who he hasn't collaborated with that he wanted to do that with. So he texted Corey and Corey was like yeah. He wanted to do it as a friend and as a fan of Korn. Jonathan recorded his part in Cali and Corey flew to Nashville and recorded his part. Johanthan told Corey just to do his thing and that's what Corey did. So this is from a lyrical standpoint a Korn and Slipknot combination. Now if you liked this... You should check out Korn and Slipknot playing live in concert together covering a Bestie Boy song. (Sabatoge).

Korn was the band that took me from Hip Hop head to metal head in '94. I saw the birth and death of Nu-metal as a genre. Came in kicking and screaming, went out whimpering and complaining. I know exactly what you mean with the numbness that befalls you in a depressive episode. I have gone through this shit for about 20 years and finally came out of the struggle for sanity victorious two years ago. So for anyone dealing with depression: don't give up! Fight for your mental health every day and you shall win. After all the reason for your depression is your mind and thus your mind can defeat depression. Good luck!
