Yes to ever single one of those bands. Nightwish and Powerwolf are among my top three favourite bands. FFDP being the third one. But not in that order.
Yes! The Black Halo was the first Kamelot album I ever heard (my brother burned me a copy), and I consider both of these songs to be essential Kamelot. Alex, you gotta check 'em out!
There's no such thing as an overrated Kamelot song. Alex, if you do check out The Haunting, that song features the lead singer from the band Epica as a guest. You should check out her band too.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4V_eoR6r1Tw.html This one in my opinion is the better performance. The crowd here in Buenos Aires is much smaller than Wacken but they are more energetic and her performance was eyeopening and her official coming out party in Nightwish. Up to that point I had not seen a performance that had me convinced she could do the Nightwish stuff, she hit all the notes and had the largest smiles between bandmates when everyone was like....F'Yea, she has arrived.
I agree. I just hope the person who has been using multiple accounts to spam every single video asking for Consign to Oblivion hasn't soured Alex on the idea of checking them out.
@@Brown614 Been requesting Decapitated: Spheres of Madness and Fleshgod Apocalypse: The Violation every day for probably the past 2 months......nothing.
Alex, if you love strings and this, operatic style of singing and playing.. You NEED to check out bands like Sonata Arctica (Blinded No more, White Pearls Black Ocean, My land, Full Moon, or if you want a true speed masterpiece.. 8th Commandment ) Rhapsody of Fire (Village of Dwarfes, March of the Swordmaster, Wisdom of the kings, Emerald Sword.. Or, if you fancy an experience that WILL blow your socks off, check Sir Christopher "F**king" Lee in his guest appearance in "Magic of the Wizards Dream" , Dude was aged 90!! when he published his first heavy metal album. (bend your mind around THAT.. ) I PROMISE you.. These bands (also given your love for bands like Unleash the Archers, still one of my own favorite reaction videos of yours )you will love these
Yeah! Please react to Kamelot - Sacrimony or - Liar Liar! Then Epica - Unleashed and Nightwish - Ghost Love Score (Live at Wacken 2013) best live performance ever!
If you think it's intense in the video, you should see them live. The songs take on another level of intensity when played live. I've seen them several times and their live show is ridiculously good. If they come through, don't miss them.
you should check Kamelot's "Epica & The Black Halo" These 2 albums was about Johann Wolfgang von's "Faust" the man that sold his soul for the devil for knowledge... "The Black Halo" is one of my top 10 favorite albums in metal and Khan is by far the best vocalist in Metal Universe
Bro here is a list of dope ass songs you should check out Blessthefall- hollow bodies Blessthefall- you wear a crown but you’re no king Born of Osiris- machine Attila- rage Bullet for my valentine- don’t need you Coheed And Cambria- welcome home Crown the empire- initiation A day to remember- all I want Escape the fate- the guillotine 2 Korn- narcissistic cannibal (feat. Great job man, in Europe, this go kart racing music.. Is called American prog power metal 😂 They also have strings in a lot more songs, try "Elizabeth, live from one cold winters night" ! cheers
I know I have mentioned them before, but I highly recommend you check out a bunch of young lads from New Zealand called Alien Weaponry they sing in Maori which is the native language in NZ and sing about a lot of Maori related things.
Caleb made a right choice (Shao Kahn saying WISE CHOICE ) this was one if not there best intense song . Gave me chills and goosebumps and the need to headbang . Did not know how dark it was though . Damn .
Sadly, but Roy Khan (ex-Kamelot vocalist) is not recognised good enough. He has one of the most incredible voices ever and one of the best live perfomance world have ever seen. I'd strongly recommend "Memento Mori" (live in Belgrade) and "Haunting" (live from One Cold Winter's Night) . And do not forget to listen to the rest of discography after that, cause this band totally deserves to be known better ;)
Kamelot if legitimately one of my top 5 bands of all time, i LOVE them. although i prefer THIS singer, his name is roy kahn compared to the newer dude, tommy. This was a great first song for them, you should try love you to death, or the elizabeth trilogy, perhaps even center of the universe.... Please god give amaranthe a try, i think youll love em.
Hi Alex, if you like stringed instruments, then you should definitely react to: Apocalyptica feat. Sandra N. "Path 2" The song will amaze you and you will like it!! I really like it!
Kamelot is probably the Alpha dog in the pack of power/symphonic metal. They're one of my all time favorite bands. This is a great song, but the obvious choices for a first timer listening to the Roy Khan era would be March of Mephisto or The Black Halo.
i would had forever and farewell and i have a soft spot for don't you cry because Roy did that one in french when kamelot stoped in my town ans i got to see them
Good song! Roy Khan (this singer) is my favorite, their new singer Tommy is amazing as well. But I highly suggest you check out some live performances of Kamelot with Roy Khan. For example "Elizabeth (I, II & III) - One cold winter's night Live" Or any other song really from that live performance "One Cold Winter's Night"
That concert is one of my favorites to watch, I mean Roy is so god damn clean through the whole thing.. When he get to show how good he is in Abandoned then I almost starts to cry
So many to delve into. Nightwish, Epica, Delain, Within Temptation, Amaranthe, Chyra, Kiske/Somerville, Leave's Eyes, Sirenia, MindMaze, A Sound of Thunder,
Forgot to mention songs. Within Temptation....."And We Run" which is a collaboration with Xzibit or "Paradise" which is a duet with Tarja who used to sing for Nightwish. Both songs give me goosebumps everytime i listen.
Finally, you chose to react to power metal, finally!!! Keep it going and by the way, you think those high notes are good. Time to react to Nightwish and Epica. Ghost Love Score live from Wacken and Consign to Oblivion, respectively.
Another recommendation: The live version of The Haunting with Simone Simons from Epica, who is another band that's being mentioned a ton in previous comments. The band Epica is actually named after the album of the same name by Kamelot, and the singer of Epica (Simone Simons) is married to Kamelot's pianist! :)
To be fair, I'm pretty sure there's one person who uses multiple account to spam every video asking for Epica. It's always the same song, almost always word-for-word the same comments, and they're all posted within a couple minutes of each other. That said, spamming aside I do think he should check out Epica because they are great.
SithCats Possibly. However, given Alex's reaction to Kamelot's use of strings, he'll definitely be blown away by Epica. Epica and Kamelot are 2 of my top 3 bands (third being Poets of the Fall) and for me you can't jam Kamelot without following up with some Epica, or vice versa.
Man if your impressed with strings in metal, there’s a whole genre for you, Symphonic Metal. Epics or Nightwish would be my top pick. Nemo by Nightwish or Phantom of Agony by Epica
Finally!!!!! One of my absolute favorite bands. This is a great song, but not their best. Please, please react to more Kamelot. Also react to Epica, Nightwish, Iced Earth, Ayreon, Seventh Wonder, After Forever, ReVamp, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Wintersun, Sabaton, Powerwolf, Blind Guardian, Orden Ogan, Eisbrecher, Nightingale, more Ghost. So many great bands and songs you have yet to discover, Ahhhhhh! Great reaction! Hope you have a dope ass day
I agree with all of those bands, though maybe not in that order, and would like to add Symphony X, Edguy, Masterplan, Demons & Wizards, Avantasia, and others to the list. And also more Kamelot. Everyone needs more Kamelot in their lives.
Um, ya, pretty much this. I'd add some songs...Nightwish (Ghost Love Score live at Wacken), Iced Earth (Dante's Inferno), After Forever (Digital Deceit), Sonata Arctica (Don't Say a Word), Stratovarius (Father Time *This is the song that got me into metal*), Sabaton (Ghost Division official live), Blind Guardian (Mirror, Mirror), Orden Ogan (FEVER).
Its not mine either, I just got excited and typed whatever popped in my head first. I totally agree the bands you listed. Damn it I cant believe I forgot them. Also Alex needs to react to Demons and Wizards Fiddler On The Green. Have a great evening.
Okay. You need to do Epica: Consign To Oblivion live and Nightwish: Ghost Love Score live at Wacken. Both bands are similar to this but with female vocalist. Epica even got their name from one of Kamelot's albums. Also the lead singer of Epica is married to Kamelot's keyboardist.
Patrick Shelley Both great picks. Also great introductions to the band. Ghost Love Score is no where near my favorite Nightwish song but Floor’s performance at Wacken is unbelievable.
Agreed. It's not at the top of my favorite NW songs either. But it's a great intro to the band with Floor. For a shorter introduction, I'd suggest She is My Sin from Wacken.
Just thought to propose Power Metal bands (Kamelot, Epica, Hammerfall, Gamma Ray, etc).. and see Kamelot video :-) (would recommend to google about their albums - it is real operas) Thanks! Also - you like Iron Maiden (300% agreed), but i don't seen their eternal "opponent" in your reactions - Manowar =) Anyway - thanks again for your emotions! Listen METAL ;)
@@MarryMeSenpai I get that a lot of people push for live versions because of the visual part , but I thought we were watching his reaction to the song not visual stimulation. Also the studio versions are almost always superior in quality with no crowd drowning out parts of a song xD But honestly either way....as long as he finally checks them out would be good enough for me
Epica - Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith or Nightwish - Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013! Please :) Roy Khan is the singer in this song, he left the band in 2011 and they brought in a new singer called Tommy Karevik, a song of his you should check out is Kamelot - Liar Liar featuring Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy. :)
Kamelot has been one of my favorite bands for a long time. That being said, I think “The Black Halo” “Center of the Universe” “ Forever” “Memento Mori” or “Nights of Arabia” all would be good follow up songs for you to check out. Roy Khan was a simply fantastic vocalist during his era, sadly he has retired from the band.
May i suggest Dimmu Borgir - Gateways. The best version to listen to would be Live from Forces of the northern nights. It was done with a live orchestra and choir and is just epic. The whole concert is one of the best shows ever. Please check it out eventually. I thought of it because you said you don't often hear strings in metal. Well they had a whole orchestra ^^
If you want something "grandiose', I suggest the band Nightwish with the song 'Ghost Love Score (Live at Wacken 2013) or the song 'The Poet And The Pendulum' Amazing symphonic music with great female vocal! ;)
Looking at the comments it definitely looks like Epica is next on the list, or at least should be by viewer demand, however later down the line I would love to see you do "Heaven Shall Burn - Counterweight" or even "Black Tears" He has this very articulated voice which makes his screams much easier to understand (although you will still probably need the lyrics pulled up) but they are a pretty dope ass band from Germany that I feel don't get much attention from reaction videos! Have a great day Alex
i've been trying to get him to do the phantom agony to see what they are all about from the beginning. xD but yes there is literally 0 songs i dislike by them, been putting off buying their album "the score" and 2.0. only ones i don't have
