In this video our hero can't remember what he was editing or talking about. But he remembers that Leo Quan was a pigment of the imagination of Glen Quan.

Hi Robert, yes I knew Glen Quan. I live in San Francisco, he repaired guitars had his own shop ect. Leo was the owner of Leo's music in Oakland CA. and he became a partner with Glen and did marketing for the bridges. So that's the Leo Quan name. Sadley Glen passed away in 2018 in San Francisco.

I was sad to hear that. He was a real innovator. I have his bridges on about 20 of my basses. A simple yet effective design and it will always be a classic.

Back in 1981, I moved to SF from Boston I took my Fender P bass to this guy Glen Quan down in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco, he installed his "Leo Quan" bridge and set my bass up, to this day I still have that bass, and when Glen set it up I have hardly touched it in all these years, his setup was to this day the best, I love your story, and Glen was a master

Im getting a kickass bridge for my Fender P bass. One thing I like about them is the ability to adjust the string position laterally, since Fender seems to find it impossible to center them on the neck at the factory.

I just bought an old Martin Concert Uke that was part of Glen Quan’s personal collection.

I just put the Hipshot Kickass bridge on my Fender Boxer Bass. I love it except for the recessed areas that hold the metal piece on the end of the strings are a little close to the intonation adjustment screws...especially with my eyesight. However, it does make for a clean looking setup.

I think I bought my first 5 string bridge directly from him. I sent him a postal money order for $55 i believe. I found that bass in the collection the other day. It was a wide 5 Warmoth neck I built back in 1998.

Thanks for turning me onto them. They look pretty well made, but I think they might be a little difficult to adjust with all those screws. I'd like to try one. Maybe they will send me one to review. Thanks for the info Richard.

I’m currently trying to make the decision of which new bridge to buy. It’s either going to be a Leo Quan Badass, Hipshot Kickass, or Omega Badass. I already tried buying one for like 50$ from a supplier called ERICH HK. The website said they were based in Texas, but the package attempted to come from China. Took 2 months for them to deliver it to the wrong house and state. I only know because they sent a tracking number. I’m almost scared to try again.

@@tetsusiega2 I would go for the hipshot kick ass. It's easier to intonate, plus you can get brass or steel saddles. The badasses are great but you need to be pretty skilled with a file to get the intonation filed in. Omegas are clones of Badass bridges and I have never worked on one they seem to be pretty good.
