With your rich knowledgeable background in rap and hip hop, I would love to hear your opinion on Jhope as a rapper. Since he didnt have a background in rap, he learned from both Rm and Suga. A lot of people say he has more of today's rap style.. more stylish. But I love it. I love all three rappers 💜💜

All BTS rappers can do any text book style of rap, they're very versatile, but they have different tones and different preferences: RM: He tends to prefer using a more "heavy" rap, I'm not referring to agression (that depends on the topic of the song) but to the 'lower placement' of his voice, his voice sounds as if it's fuller, deeper? Sometimes adds more English wordplay too. Poetic and complex lyricism. Suga: He also has a lower speaking voice, but the placement of his rapping voice tends to be lighter, more chill/easy. He likes to do that "joker"/crazy/madman-like voice in between his rap, to add character or empathise certain emotions or words. He likes fast rap so he uses it more often. He also often has dialogue in his verses, in which objects are personified. His delivery is very straightforward, great at conveying emotions in a direct/easy to recognize way. Lyricism focused on storytelling. J Hope: He has a higher speaking voice compared to RM or Suga. Very unique timber. Very creative flow, uses flow as if it as an instrument, listening to it often makes you wanna dance. Often the hype man in BTS songs. He uses that in between rap & singing a lot, seemless transition between singing and rapping. Lyrics are usually straightforward, often uses onomatopoeias, also food and flower symbolism. Vocal line members have different timbers too, but also seem to sing with different styles/technique (not gonna describe the later because I'm no vocal expert): Jungkook: Angelic voice, sweet and very stable. He likes Western pop music, sad/melancholic/emotional songs and EDM a lot. Honestly, it's probably easier to tell his voice appart from other members by default (it's just easier for me to describe the other members voices). V: He has the lowest natural voice between BTS vocalists. His voice is deep but at the same time kinda airy, it's a unique sound, very soulful. He's usually the one doing growling in older BTS songs. He likes jazz, blues, soul, and alternative music styles a lot. Jin: He has a more nasaly voice, that's the easiest way to distinguish him from the other members. Often has a big part in power ballads and Japanese songs. Beautiful falsetto. (They all have nice falsettos though, so that probably doesn't help.) Jimin: Lighter/more delicate voice. His higher range sounds very androgenous, that's probably the easiest way to recognize his singing at fist. His high notes often finish with a little cry.

I'm actually working on reaching out to certain hip-hop journalists/ podcast folks to get the rap line more coverage. I'm hoping some will check out their mixtapes and seriously analyze them. I was disappointed with the few articles found on them and their solo music. I am hoping because they make great music, their music will spread through word of mouth organically. Like, I will argue all day of why the rap line's solo songs/trio songs earned it to be in Rap Caviar playlist(The most influential rap playlist on Spotify of 13 mill) instead of regulated to only kpop playlists where they get the least amount exposure for listeners/boxed in(Even though the group gets streamed more than those lucky big label artists who have radio/heavy playlisting on Today's top hits). If more people just had the chance to hear them, I'm sure it would spread faster. I mean this is the rap line that got Teddy Walton(grammy producer who has worked with Kendrick), TM88, Wale, Warren G, Tiger JK, Epik High, and Coolio to acknowledge them.

Shows Jimin's breathtakingly spectacular vocal abilities since the beginning til most recent performances! Jimin was given the official title of not just Main Dancer, but Lead Vocalist by BigHit since BTS debuted for a reason! How they are sitting: RM-Jungkook-Jimin-Suga-Jin-V-JHope Some helpful tips: RM-you know him Jungkook- He is usually the center and sings most in many songs because he is the main vocalist and center Jimin- One of the best dancers plus he is the vocalist with the highest voice, if you hear a high note in the background it's usually Jimin Suga- you know him Jin- he is a power vocal, he can get to some higher ranges with Jimin but with a fuller power voice, Jimin's is more light and airy V- darkest, deepest voice among the vocalist, rich tones J Hope- usually melodic rapper, also does background vocals, if there is a hype man it's J Hope, dance leader

J-hope has the kind of chill rap that has many flows, and it's just very pleasing to hear Suga then has a eminem vibe because of the fast rap, and how he says each words are so emotional. RM has versatility that can do wordplay or something unbelievable.

I'm sure someone has said this to you already, but one of my favorite descriptions of the rap line's rap styles (lyrically) is this: RM analyzes the world, Suga criticizes the world, and J-Hope visualizes the world. RM is incredibly versatile with his rap delivery, he certainly can speed-rap, but you mostly hear him with more of a Nas flow, as I know you've mentioned before. Suga is pretty known for his speed-rap, but whats important to remember about Suga's rap flow is that yes, he is spitting fast but just like Eminem, he is delivering a real message. Suga also has a really great grasp on inflection! He knows when to perfectly pitch his voice up or do a "squeak" with his voice to emphasize what he's saying. That being said, Suga also does smooth monotone rap very well, could be considered "chill". J-Hope has a VERY West Coast rap style, he has been called the "flow-rapper". Being that J-Hope comes from a dance background, I think its very fitting that when listening to his rap, it really flows like your body would when listening to the groove of the song. Thats not to say that J-Hope can't spit some fire, but he really shines with melodic rap. J-Hope also does a great job (just like RM and Suga) of switching his flows seamlessly. In BTS's song So 4 More (2nd Grade) I think Armys counted 4 flows in ONE J-Hope verse, genius. Lastly, regarding J-Hope, keep in mind he came into the group originally placed (vocally, since we all know he's a dancer first and foremost) as a singer, so this man can SING! Thats why in many of his rap lines he switches from a singing voice to a rap quickly and smoothly. All the rappers are AMAZING and are individually great, but when they all get on a song together its pure gold. They really play off of each other nicely and organize their individual rap parts within the song to create the greatest effect for listeners. I'm positive you being the amazing Zulu you are already recognize most of this just by listening to a few of their songs, but I know you're always looking for any info about BTS that you can get! So I apologize for the long comment, but I'm very passionate about the intricacies of music: beat, groove, timbre, pitch, harmony, melody, cadence, etc....next time maybe I'll get deeper into the intricacies of the vocal line for you ;) You're awesome Monq, stole my heart from the get-go! Keep up the great work!

I get how people can somehow get confused with Hobi's and Yoongi's voices when rapping, especially if it's the first time they're hearing older BTS songs, but for me, Hobi's has more...funk? Boogaloo-esque and Yoongi's is more "You ride my beat, no other way around it." XD and man, when you mentioned Bone Thugs N Harmony, I got flashbacks from my childhood. 💜 The rap line also saw Eminem live before and are fans of him, so I also love how you likened Yoongi's style to Eminem's 🙌🏽💜

Quick fact- J-hope originally signed up to dance and sing. Rm and Suga helped him learn to rap as that's what the company wanted him to do, since this group was supposed to originally debut as a hip hop group.

no he was a rapper from the begining, why do people keep spreading lies ? He even rapped in BTS pre debut songs and was featured as rapper on someone's song way before even having a carreer with BTS, as a kid he was very influenced by rap, just watch his hip hop lover verse, you'll see him give hommage to many old school rappers.

@@nastikiduxa he wasn't supposed to be a singer, he wrote rap and rapped way before debuting in BTS, look at his jo kwon performance in 2011 or 2012. In hip hop lover he even said he was a fan of Biggie Tupac and Nas, he never sited any singer as an influence. Add to that the fact that the guy was a fucking preesional street dancer which is part of hip hop. I am the one wondering where people got the information about him being a singer, because it doesn't exist, and all the facts prove it wrong. The only thing that exists is that Jhope once said in American hustle life that he was not good at freestyle, and that he used to still do them with the other rappers even though he was bad, but it still was good since it helped him be more confident in his skills.

Honestly, the easiest way to get familiar with their faces/learn who is who is by watching their entertainment content. Watch a few RUN BTS episodes on your free time and you'll attach each name to each respective face, pretty fast. They're really funny too.

As years went by the rappers stopped caring what people thought about them and just started being themselves, flaws and all, but in todays kpop community its like a weekly thing to talk down or discredit them being MC's/ rappers😂glad enough that army's can tone all of that down and BTS stopped paying attention to all the negativity. And yes, Jimin's voice is very beautiful and soft, V is energetic a lot of the times😂😂I really love videos like this were you get to see how each of their personalities are and live vocals are always nice to hear😌I don't know if you consider yourself an ARMY yet but today was ARMY's 7th birthday so we celebrated it with each other on social media, sharing experiences and virtual parties, Happy Birthday MONQ if you consider yourself an ARMY😂💜💜🎉

Jimin is capable of singing not falsetto but head voice crystal clear, angelic, but also string & powerful! Jimin has that rock star voice ability as well!! But then he also goes to his deeper registry with that ever so sexy growly at times voice also so not soft, though he more then capable and has done that spas well! Abbiea123 oh I’m not a new fan, I’ve been an army for awhile😂I know Jimin has a range and he can definitely change his tone based on genre but his is voice very beautiful and gentle in certain songs, kinda ballad like, such as just one day and I like it. We all know Jimin is amazing on stage in hype songs like we are bulletproof pt 1&2 and danger with the growls😍, depends on what feeling he’s trying to convey. I know my boys, and I definitely know how they act on and off stage and how amazing their personalities are❤️

@Bri Nicole - Concerning the rappers, especially RM who was quite close friends with some of them who totally dissed him after he signed with BigHit and especially when the ultimate Bangtan Songyeondan was created! This really hurt him so bad, devastated, & disappointed him that these supposed close friend who he used to respect, hang, & perform as underground rappers with, would backstab him so! RM believed in himself as did Yoongi since the very beginning!! At least they now had a support group with each other along with Hobi, who also wrote about all that into his lyrics way back as well, getting back at all the rappers belittling & dissing them, many who never even listened to BTS songs, or their album!! I feel they always knew who they were from the very beginning, it just always hurts even more when it's who you thought was your close friends dissing you! But that just hyped them up and empowering them more to stay the course since they were in a mission to speak out against so many injustices going on in this world especially their own country! So they were never swayed! Suga even said that somebody needs to speak up for all the disenfranchised especially the youth who needed a voice to speak on their behalf, and needed to be heard!!!

I love what you said in the beginning. Rappers in kpop have definitely tried finding their own styles and etc you know being themselves but it’s getting annoying seeing people tear down these people as if this isn’t their jobs and for most of them it’s their dream and something that isn’t just a part time thing, like BTS rapline , it’s apart of the kpop community I steer clear from because I wish nothing but success for anyone and use common sense

Tanaka Hiko I will never be able to understand how people just tear idols down for being themselves, you should want everyone to succeed. I’m glad BTS have broken that mold and I hope that down the line other groups will be able to be their true selves, and stop trying to limit themselves because they think somethings “impossible”, and have that confidence that no one can take from them because they believe in themselves fully. Especially in the kpop rap, I hope it grows to more standards

Hello! A few months found your channel is very interestic how analises the music of bangtan, im army from 2017 and is rare found reactor that are genuily, thanks for that. Bangtan is a group very versatil and so talentous they make me feel in love of the like and music again. I think is the time that you react too to the vocal line solos will be mor easy for you catch who is who, your ar doing well dont worry, V said come out his mixtape this year and the last week give a little spoiler abput a song and all the fandom is in alert because with bangtan never know when realese a mixtape or single. @MONQ you are rigth about them having their own color , so far now "that" channel is doing a research or videos or some stuff to show the "racist" part in kpop and are trying to use hip hop in kpop as a way to show it saying that the idols stole it from black people or something , am not talking about other stuff like movies or korean tv shows thats other thing , but then what ? kpop groups should only do traditional korean dance moves ? use only traditional instruments ? thats ridiculus , people should do their homework before saying such sensible things. also do you hear about that dude in florida saying that BTS stan for Big Time Socialist i think ? whats going on in your country , thats crazy . anyway i died at your reaction , really good to see genuine reactions , you are the best and i always learn something from your videos 💜💜💜💜💜👍👍👍👍👍🤞🤞🤞 greetings from Argentina 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
