The Hiplok Z LOK and Z LOK COMBO are an excellent way to raise the security bar when you need to step away from you bicycle. Convenient for you, inconvenient for opportunistic thieves. More great content at www.mamilian.bike
Well done on this video. I appreciate the illustration on your house door lock not making it impossible to break in, its a deterrent. Good point, just because a house door lock is not infallible doesn’t mean we don’t bother having a locking door knob… And we don’t dwell on how easy someone could break through it. Same with bike locks, it makes sense to have some sort of deterrent and view it simply as that. I get irritated with all the countless RU-vid videos that focus on how easy it is to cut into or pick any lock whatsoever, when we already get that point we don’t need to dwell on that and we can focus on practical use cases for them, how easy they are to travel with, etc. So thank you for doing just that instead of obsessing about how easy you can break into the lock like 99% of the other videos. Good info again thank you.
Hi thanks for the video. I got the small one last week. I agree that it's the tool to secure your bike for few minutes only. I use and bike alarm as well and the combination is perfect. Best regards, Dan
@@Mamilian that is good to know, so one is thicker or wider than the other??........do you think one is also stronger, as in more steel?, or just coated in more plastic?
I think lockpicking lawyer demonstrated that these can be shimmed. Whats the width and thickness of these things? Also if they are trimmed down in size do they still work?
You could shim the thin one with a paperclip, but that's not really the point. It's more about reducing opportunistic theft, you could defeat either with a sheet metal cutter. You could cut some off, but I wouldn't recommend it. I already have to pick the fixed object carefully to ensure that they will fit.
A "real bike lock" is only a measure of time for a thief that wants your bike. These, are just a percentage of "today's top bike lock". Any bike outside locked, unmonitored, is as good as gone. Bike locks are about time. This lightweight affordable "tie" can lock down bags, the bike itself, and other components, with minimal weights for long trips.
All security measures (door locks, safes, file encryption, etc.) are fundamentally about creating inconvenience. The goal is to create a level of inconvenience that is greater than the threat you are modeling for.
Sorry, I don't understand your comment. I may have addressed your question/concern here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-59XsYnNsOII.html.
Thanks for your comment. 1) in case I need to sanitize my hands and the place doesn't have any 2) sometimes I need to clean my hands and I'm not in a structure 3) I like clean hands 4) I like to be prepared Hope that helps.
