Richard recommends you start off preparing for your HireVue interview by practicing answers to the following common interview questions.
WHAT QUESTIONS DO THEY ASK ON HIREVUE?
Q. Tell me about yourself?
Q. Why do you want to work here?
Q. Why should we hire you?
Q. If someone in your team was not pulling their weight, what would you do?
Q. When did you work as part of a team that failed?
Q. Tell me what you do when you are not at work?
Q. Tell me about a time when you didn’t get on with a manager or supervisor?
Q. Tell me about a time when you succeeded despite being under pressure?
HIREVUE VIDEO INTERVIEW TIPS
#1. Make sure you check your tech! Is your phone, laptop or computer fully charged and are you in a strong internet connection area?
#2. Check your background and make sure the lighting is good.
#3. Consider using a phone and tripod clasp to keep things steady during the HireVue interview.

Hi Richard, Thanks for sharing your interview tips in this video. It gives us good insights into the areas we need to research and prepare for the interview. I have also tended to do my video conferencing sessions from my desk top. As you have highlighted, my video camera is located at the top of my screen and so it often tends to record me with my eyes looking down towards my screen. Your video has convinced me to adjust my camera to ensure that I look directly into the camera. The questions and standard answers you have shared are also helpful in motivating us to prepare better for the interview. Thanks. Keep up your good work.

It was good and valuable information. I wanted to download the questions and found out they cost $4.99. Okay, $4.99 is worth it but then it wouldn't let me complete my purchase without forcing me to also purchase "21 GREAT ANSWERS to Tough Interview Questions" ($4.99) and "Richard's Management Skills Masterclass" ($27.99) by claiming I had 'invalid or missing payment token fields.' I see people in the comments complaining about how those virtual interviews are terrible , unnatural and unfair. That might be true in some way, but the reality is that those interviews are part of the modern recruitment process and we cannot ignore it. Whether we want it or not , we have to adapt to all these innovations. And to be honest, I better be prepared and “unnatural” with the help of this kind of videos than lose a good opportunity. Huge thanks to the creator of this channel!!!

You can absolutely can ignore them. I’ve done so... next day after ignoring the request to call a phone line to record my answers, I received a call from a human at a different company. Best believe they took priority. And I landed the job. It’s no surprise people defend these practices. It’s an industry that generates a lot of money... but there have been failures in tech. This will come and go.

Great video! I passed the PwC hirevue three weeks ago, did the AC the following week and got the call two days ago saying I'd got the internship that I'd applied for! Thanks a lot for the great model answers, however I would recommend to applicants that these shouldn't be regurgitated directly and should definitely be tailored to who you are and often hirevue questions wont have enough response time to answer the questions in as much depth as these answers.

Outstanding video! I am very impressed, I can tell the level of communication skills, problem solving skills and in such a professional manner. But unfortunately I’m not. Such answers like these will be difficult to pull off. Given the time limit in HireVue to answer. I’m trying to find a way to provide a proper answer with out my anxiety kicking in. Any advice will help. Even though, this video did have very impressive answers.

Mind you, most of the time, those elaborate comments to those questions are more for really big positions like accountants, lawyers, and actuaries where they have plenty of time to study the company,, questions,, etc.. Most of the human population can't pull off something like this off the top of their head. Stick to being honest, truthful and relevant to the job you apply for. Think of your interview as an older sibling to reduce anxiety and know the worst they can say is "no". On top of these, be proffessional and don't studder or use additives too much. For example: um, well, so, like.

I paraphrased his answers. I took a screen shot of each answer: paraphrased & shortened them, and put them on my desk top. His answers are really good. Practice helps too.

Just bear in mind that interviews differ from job role to job role and from company to company. There's not just one set of questions used everywhere all the time.

Dear Cynthia, I have had my Hire Vue interview just last week, and I found the questions are the same. I think the Hire Vue questions are the same for all companies, differ only in the formulation of the question.

@@applenewmoon4402 They can be the same for different people taking the job interview, but HIreVue questions are different company to company and job role to job role. The questions that candidates for Delta flight attendant jobs answer are different from those that a Citibank bank teller answer.

This was very helpful. I have applied for a job and I’m under consideration but I’m afraid I don’t have any experience relevant to the job I’m trying to get.
