All rights , but sir I want to ask one question , if someone wants to make their career as Oracle DBA and learn all the activities of Oracle DBA and want to apply for the job as fresher then according to the point of your guidelines for hiring DBA .on the other hand the question is Where the fresher candidate can apply and start there carrier as DBA please guide us ...

Hi Arun, I am a DBA with 5+ yrs . In some environment especially banking every activity has a Team. Managers tend to use DBA to accomplish their work and mostly use DBAs to do repetitive work. Managers are a reason for fake DBA on market. My ex colleague who came into company with fake resume never had the knowledge to create tablespace, but later on he used to work with his brother on weekends and ramped up his skills. DBA gather skills and knowledge purely based on the activities they do in office. Some are fortunate like my ex colleague who gather skills despite working in an environment which is fully automated.

I think hiring employee and getting hire as employee is an bidirectional thing. As an employee I can say, whenever you change an organization lot of things employee might face. Like seniors or managers try to suppress him/her and break all confidence and interest for work. Another thing, now days team is not giving proper KT of infra or any new technology on which they are working.

I have a query regarding tablespace High Water Mark. I have tablespace name AUDIT_DATA in my UAT and all my audit data will be stored in this tablespace, after a month the size of this tablespace is approx. 25G and I suppose to do the truncate the AUD$ table after taking the backup. But the physical space was not released after truncating the table, it remains shows 25G of the data file. What can I do to release the space also. Please help me, I have to do this job in the live database

Hi Arun Sir, You are a great DBA and have exceptional communications skills. To be honest most of the qualities you are explaining can be judged with in one/two interviews if the panelist do them to their best. Its failure of the panelist in assessing the skills and finding a right candidate in interviews. Without knowing the candidates technical caliber and filtering only with written or communication skills won't be correct all the time. Communication skills are required but ultimately technicals skills only helps the candidates to get jobs and survive in these volatile markets rather than communication.

Oracle DBA/Apps DBA/Cloud is a kind Ocean .It contains lots of things and as per me a person having at least 1% of knowledge in every area like architecture,performance,backup/recovery,RAC,dataguard,GG ,etc... is a good DBA .Everyone in this IT industry following documents and procedures given by client .I saw few of your videos and in which you just trying to show off yourself as a scientist who invented Oracle ha ha ha.

I love your content although I am not working as an Oracle DBA, do fill there is a trend in the current market that is the hiring manager is an oracle DBA mostly and interviewing a candidate for another dba profile (in my case MySQL/PostgreSQL) and does not even know about this other technologies and asking all stupid questions. That is also a waste of candidates' time when your interviewer is not aware of what to ask.

HI I HAVE RECENTLY PERFORMED AN UPGRADE FROM 12R1 TO 12R2 AND IT GAVE AN ERROR DURING POST UPGRADE STEPS.(FYI WAS USING DBUA). EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE AT DB LEVEL BUT TIMEZONE WAS NOT UPGRADED. WANTED TO KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF TIMEZONE UPGRADE AND CRITICALITY OF IT. AND IS IT ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO DO IT..... THANKS IN ADVANCE.

One point I am not gonna agree with u at all about filtering non -fluent English speaking candidates because I have example in my office who is my boss whom English is not very good not even fluent and do lots of spelling mistakes and also makes wrong tense sentences but he is one of the most popular DBA in DBA community and he is most effective and outperforming colleagues as mentioned by our company CDO and CIO and let me tell u I work in one of biggest company Hindalco Industries Ltd of ABG group. So he is appreciated by ABG CDO and CIO . So English does not matter dude.

You are a dba.... and you are hiring a dba.... so you are judging in that way.... let's say your company size is 10000 and you supposed to hire one java developer..... will you be require a resume i think yes... in the same way companies do. No one has the time for taking test for 7 days... and believe me no one... its all about buisness man....you cannot grow your company with this mind set.... that's why management guys required to control the retention and to hold the talent.

if you ask that you are DBA manager, why you have to be afrraid about fake dba. For me, because your position is manager . It means that you have to be more experience than them , and easy to find a answer if they want to cheat you
