The first Russian dreadnoughts, the Gangut class, are today's subject.
To help with the renaming:
Gangut = Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya (Октябрьская революция)
Petropavlovsk = Marat (Марат)
Sevastopol = Parizhskaya Kommuna (Парижская коммуна)
Poltava = Frunze (Фру́нзе)

It is built before WW1. Even post war refits were done before air power was a thing. They knew that AA is not adequate and refits did increase AA capability. 1 AA gun is from English specs. Image shows AA guns mounted on each turret. They were not mounting quarter of a gun on each turret. Russian book referenced in wikipedia talks about two 75 or 68 mm and one 47mm Hotchkiss gun and ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A4%D0%B0%D0%B9%D0%BB:Battleship_Marat_12-inch_bow_triple_turret.jpg (and 2:35 photo in video) matches it. Initial plans were for 4x4 QF-3 Hotchkiss according to Russian sources, but they did not have enough of those or they lost lots of them in Tsushima.

Note the more modern looking "clipper" bows and pagoda style superstructures. Big problem with ships that had their turrets spaced between engine rooms was that despite the best efforts, the difference in temperatures of the ammunition meant greater dispersion of salvos. Second problem was the lack of space to add AA guns without interfering with firing arcs. Third problem was where to put fire controls, radar and radio compartments. The Japanese and American navies had the same problem with their prewar designs.

Some trivia; The class is named in honour of the first Russian naval victory at Rilax, but since the Russians didn't know local geography very well and knew it was in the general vicinity of the Hangö peninsula, or to the local Swedish, Hangö Udd, but do some linguistic differences that had arisen in the two Indo-European languages, the Russian pronunciation bore out in the transliteration, and Hangö Udd somehow became Gangut or using a more contemporary transliteration, Khangud.

First, the Octtober Revolution was in November 1917, and the Peace of Brest-Litovsk was signed in March 1918. So, the mutiny in March 1917 could have nothing to do with those two events. I would like to explain the naming a little bit: Gangut was named after Battle of Gangut in 1714 where Peter the Great galleys cornered and defeated Swedish Fleet. Sevastopol was renamed to "Parizhskaya Kommuna" (Paris Commune) - a socialist government which ruled Paris in 1871. Petropavlosk was renamed to "Marat" - after Jean-Paul Marat, one of the politicians during the French Revolution. He was the guy who managed to get stabbed in the bath... Poltava was renamed to Frunze - after Mikhail Frunze, one of bolsheviks military leaders
@dayaautum6983

The only thing worse than a ship named after a guy who got stabbed in the bath tub would be a bath bomb named after him. Then you might ask for battlecruiser and fast battleship explanation too. Just see how preceding and superseding classes for HMS Dreadnought look like.
