I'd say that's a main essence of the spirituality, however one might practice it. For me it's mindfulness meditation, yoga, drawing and listening to music like this: activities that help me be more in contact with moment. Luckily, this type of music fits with all those activities (and more, like reading) that I do by myself.
I live near the ocean in Japan a little outside Tokyo. I was going for a walk one day near Hayama and recently was really into this album by chance. I went into the contemporary art museum they have there on a whim and strangely enough they had a bunch of drawings and sound sculptures Yoshimura made. There was this metal tube filled with fluid with instructions to lift it up to your ear and listen to it. I thought it was a cool coincidence and this album is very evocative of the area around Hayama.
Awesome, thank you for sharing this information! I just recently became a fan of Hiroshi Yoshimura's music and would love to visit the museum that you mentioned when I get to visit Japan again. Thank you for letting us know!
Envious but thank you for sharing! Yoshimura is my favorite Artist and I enjoy reading or hearing other people's genuine experiences in regards to Yoshimura's work(=
@@andrewkane9328 I've tried to confirm this and believe the music starts and ends the day there: there is no coincidence with the views of ocean and the museum location and album cover I believe. Might be wrong but I hope I'm right.
The first track played literally makes me feel like everything is gonna be okay and teleports me back to the innocence childhood of just observing the world around me. Hiroshi's music is such a gem!
Word. Hiroshi's music really encapsulates that feeling of peace. Simply observing the world around oneself is really what we should all be striving for. I really like Eckhart Tolle's work about this topic. I'm currently reading his book The Power of Now and I can't hide just how much it has helped me understand why I'm so restless and, more importantly, how to create stillness and peace in my mind. If that sounds interesting to you, and you haven't read it already, I highly recommend you do. Random book recommendation from one stranger to another, I'm not sponsored, lol. Peace be with you.
@@victor-hi2uw Hey bro! Thanks for sharing and enhancing even more the feeling of this particular music. I also appreciate you mentioning the book. When I read the name I was like why is that name so familiar and I realize the book you mentioned. I have it currently in my shelf and never managed to finish it since im all over the place. Im gonna start reading it then honestly, because I think its something I need in my life right now! Thanks a million and recommending this, cheers!
@@victor-hi2uw That's cool that you connect this sort of music to the idea of mindfulness and being more in touch with each moment. I work in the mental health field with youth and those sorts of practices are very popular now but for good reason. Obviously more tricky with youth to encourage these things, but always good to plant seeds. Building that skill of mindfulness and comfort with oneself is not easy. Maybe one of the hardest things to do, but in my opinion, probably one of the most worthwhile uses of one's time. Music like this evokes the same sort of serenity for me. I love listening to ambient music while reading. All the best to you!
I like how the comment sessions in Hiroshi Yoshimura videos are full of people connecting with each other and bonding over this beautiful music. The internet is not a cold dead place!
This guy is slowly becoming one of my favorite artists. It is true that great music survives you. I actually want this and green on vinly now... Hope they exist.
I don't know why, but this album makes me feel like I should be happy with where I am now in my life. I feel like we are pressured too much by people constantly telling us to do things really quickly, and we often forget that life isn't really a race... But this album is like a reminder to me that I should slow down, and take it easier. Beautiful album!
Exactly! Of course, I have goals I'm working towards...things could always be better...but there will never be a moment exactly like this one...so enjoy yippee
Hiroshi Yoshimura single-handedly fixing my insomnia in the year 2020. 🙏 Sometimes it feels like the end of the world these days, but this music makes that all melt away. Good night to all of you out there, wherever and whenever you might be.
Get closer to God he’s in love with you and he can give you peace un-understandable. So much knowledge and wisdom from the bible. I was at such a low point in my life and I feel you but God gave me peace . 💟
Hey I hope nearly 4 years later things are a bit better for you. I just lost my dog and I’m in the middle of moving and starting a new job. Life is definitely different now, but I hope to stay strong and carry on.

Can you share any order albums you have found like this? Because I want to hear them. I'm rinsing all his work so much. Joanna Brouk is really sedative too :)
Agreed. I can't say that any one album is better than the others, but I find that whichever album I choose to listen to at any given time is the best in that personal moment. And right now it's Four Post Cards.
There is a ton of electronic music out there and 99% of it does nothing for me. But this.... this is magic. I don't know how he did it. It's all so simple, yet so powerful.
As someone who's favorite music genre is electronic, I still agree that most of what's out there doesn't quite make a deep impact on me. Plenty is just fine, maybe for background music. But not a lot resonates with my heart and soul. But yes, this is quite amazing
hey John, glad you could take something from this LP. I found this album back when I was 16 in a music forum, decided to upload it and it has stuck with me for some time now. I go back and revisit it once in a while. If you like this record, I think you should give Green a chance, it's by Hiroshi as well. I also strongly recommend you listen to Async by Ryuichi Sakamoto, it's a beautiful ambient - modern classical album full of cute, great songs that reminds me of Four Post Cards as well.
if you are interested in wii music inspiration, check out the band Casiopea. Their genre is what inspired the entire sega sound team and much of the nintendo musicians. Personal favorite
No matter the song, when we hear the divine melody we are reminded the rest of the world is and will always be here with us. Sometimes it sounds beautiful.
In this genre of music....it is very hard to have a original sound and not let it get far off the rails from a composition wise. Hiroshi seems to be gifted with that talent of ambient but complex beauty. This just hits right where you want it. All his albums seem to do that
Have just been listening to Hiroshi Yoshimura recently, and his music transfers you to another quiet peaceful world, on another planet, and I love it, especially enjoying this one, Wet Land and Soundscape 1. CHIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLL!!!!
I had such a stressful week and this instantly made every bad vibe go away. Also my shirt today is the colour of the album cover. What a beautiful work of music.
Sun from soon after he left Chicago for New York. He's in an interesting point here. He's still into the big band exoticism of his earlier work in Chicago and hasn't engaged in the experimentation he'd dive into in just a years time. This is from just before Sun got "out".
Cosmic bubbles floating away. Relaxing and soothing. This man created so many tracks that are incredible. Music without words forces you to create your own narrative and journey, good vibes. Rest in peace Yoshimura, respect.
Gorgeous. I stumbled upon Pier & Loft, fell in love with it, and that ultimately led me here. So grateful that after decades of searching out music there is always something wonderful yet to discover. Thanks for making that happen here, Lucy Asthma.
crazy to me how there is zero mention of Frankie knuckles here, I remember coming this track years ago and seeing him brought up, but since im not seeing it now, for those of you who appreciate music history and the art of sampling Frankie Knuckles - The Whistle Song. this man is considered The Godfather of Haus, New York bred baby!!1 it was amazing to come to this beautiful music after years down the rabbit hole of house. love coming full circle. love Hiroshi Yoshimura, own a few of his records now, something deeply touching about these tracks, especially.
amai kamiru the mp3 files are still in 320 though! I was sure I'd left the download link in the description box or in a coment but...well I'll have to upload them again! I'll pin the download link as soon as I get to do it :)
This makes me feel …. As if a soft gentle wave washes over all of my troubles and worries. Washing them far away. I sit in the sand and watch them float towards the beyond , they get smaller and smaller until they become out of sight . The music soaks in me and I lay back in the sand. Breathe .
After 20 years I realise i was just playing music which i record. Now I create music which i made...there is no theory, practical or rules which will control me. I wanted to change how instruments should sound typical and made it how they can sound which connects, sleep, sink, flows, dive, dance, swim with the universe. Finally it's my homecoming.
hey everyone. I'm planning on actually putting up some more underground/hard to get lps again. I was 16 when I put this one up and had no time to actually research more stuff, I also wasn't able to find this record in FLAC back then. You'll have to excuse me sharing my original 320kbps rip for now, at mega.nz /folder/ CokhDJxS#u-hurgVeSYxGUAGAiL3b7w I'm glad so many people like this record. I loved it back when I was a teen. still remember it fondly 6 years later.
Rest In Peace. We are all still listening to what you made, all these years later. The emotions you have stirred in us all, the healing, granting many of us the ability to carry on our own torch, To never let it burn out. Bless you wherever you are now. I hope you escaped the ever spinning wheel. Hopefully I will meet you there, that exists outside of its grasp.
