Horrible reality is that if the plague marine outright killed them it probably did saved them from a much worse fate at the hands of Grandfather Nurgle's plagues and whatever other horrors roamed the streets.

Let's be real, salamanders, lamenters, n reasonable marines are the true chapter humanity needs

The Fury of a Son of Vulkan is a formidable to be triggered. Even the Nicest Guys are always the strongest and fiercest to be fought once you have angered them enough.

Never thought a Warhammer comic would make me tear up, but you made that happen. Good job, you bastard.

Vulkan made your hearts and backs the same - strong to bear all burdens for His sake. And he made your fists like his anvil - hard beyond all measure, for the smiting of heretics.

One of the things that a lot of people forget is that while Salamanders *are* generally good guys, each one carries a piece of Vulkan's rage inside them, too. Salamanders do not shy from experiencing all manner of human emotions, to better connect them with the people they serve. And there are few emotions more human than *vengeance.*

A Salamander's job is to protect the civilians. See that he failed, and the girl's death is at the hands of the death guard. All the more reason to burn that traitor to ash.

This story alone was already tearing me up... then by the end. He walked into the fire. He could have thrown it, held it or place it into it, but no. He walked into the blaze to stay with her till the very end... Emperor Damn... Salamanders hit hard.

Now that heretic got on a salamander's hit list, its always the nicest one that can bring unbridled fury.

*This* is how I want my Firstborn/Primaris interactions. A grizzled, worn-down veteran, weighed down with glory, honor, and the memories of those he could not save. A young warrior, eager to prove his worth in battle, dealing with failure for the first time and taking the first steps toward understanding how his elders became as they are now. Sure, the Primaris are physically superior to Firstborn in many ways. But there’s no *story* in that. A Primaris on his own is just another super-soldier. A Primaris with a chapter is on his way to becoming a true Astartes. And the Astartes are legend.

I admit out of all the different chapters under the Imperium of Man, I would rather be a Salamander because I would rather be able to express some emotions like they do rather than not be able to. I'd love to see a Black Templar added into the mix at some point. A young black templar, who's heard that the Salamanders are soft. Just their entire dynamic with the Salamanders valuing human life and the Templars valuing glory. The two chapters could learn so much from one another.

The most terrifying thing to come across is a kind killing being that is on a mission who have felt loss

One of the hardest lessons a hero must learn... You can't save everyone. You won't always be fast enough to make it in time. Strong enough to hold them all back. Endure long enough to hold out. There will always be those fate takes away before we can intervene... But as long as you learn from that which has happened, both your failings and what you couldn't change despite your efforts, then it hasn't been a complete loss. As long as you do your best, and learn from the past, you can hold your head up with pride...

Being highly resistant to damage is a nice plus in combat but if the enemies goal is to make you suffer then it's a curse.

A Dragons roar. I don't remember much of the battle. Screaming civilians burning buildings and the smell that throne awful smell. I do remember the Dragon a giant of green that came to stand beside us took of his helmet a face as black as midnight looked down at me with eyes like rubies and raised his flamer. "in us all of humanity stands. Will you walk with me?"

I am so glad this showed in my feed, Salamanders are my all time favorite and everything about this shows why, the emotion he felt that made me feel, Salamanders thinking like this, like me, It is ....heart wrenching And I too feel an unquenchable nova of hatred for that plague marine and would hunt him into the Eye of Terror

Let it be known that Vulcan and his children are indeed the most kind hearted chapter of the space marines. But even a kind person has a deep anger, that is the most violent and dangerous flame to burn their foe to ash.

The salamanders are truly the best chapter in character they treat thier emotions as strenth the pain they feel only fuels the fury to destroy those who harm the innocent. i wish we had more games based on them.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the warp, a Deathguard marine is wondering why he's hearing doomlaiden music in the distance. And then he realizes that the music has a chorus. And it chants in high gothic. He knows he is f'ed.

... I have seen a great many atrocities. Worlds torn asunder, families ripped apart, and the truth is, it never gets easier to watch. And that is good. So long as you feel sadness, you yet have strength and humanity inside you. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we are victorious. Our will to go on is all that we have at the end of it all.

Their was an instance where the death core and the salamanders worked together the salamander commander had a privite chat with the death core person in charge no one knowd what was said but the death core acted nicer towards civilians during that mission and he was just annoyed cant wait to see what a pissed one will do to them

Why i do have a fell what this veteran salamander is Sol Ba'ken? I have read all Omnibus and veteran line: - In my time, i have saved thousands with my own hands... But i have lost countless more. (He is like remembing Scoria and other missions and how he lost Emek and Dak'Ir. How he lost other missions) Maybe it's just my crazy thoughts... but i have this felling what this marine is Sol Ba'ken, captain of 7-th company, who must teach now not only scouts, but also young primaris.

Out of all of the space Mirrens I think the salamanders are the only one that can truly carry the title of heroes

Brothers I know no fear but even the strongest of warriors must always be brave enough to shed a tear.

Just the image of the Salamander standing in the funeral pyre and being engulfed by the ashes of those he couldn't save is just heartbreaking. Those guardsmen too, even though they are masked you can tell some hard emotions were going through their minds when they looked upon the sight of him doing so. I honestly love wholesome/feelsy 40K stories like this. I know 40K is all about the "grimdark only war raaaaaaaaaaaaaaah for the EMPREAH!!!" but I feel stories like these work perfectly in showing why humanity continues to fight, the very reason all those guardsmen die every day, why the astartes engage the worst horrors, and why theres an exterminatus every month. The spirit of humanity perseveres in the grim darkness of the distant future, which leads us to both keep fighting for a noble heroic cause as well as commit the most atrocious of acts. When you fight for the Emperor, you fight for all of us. The Emperor Protects.

In this grimdark universe, there has to be at least one lit candle burning that shines hope, love, comfort, understanding and empathy in such a cold and hollow universe. I always admit that the depression the Astartes must feel is immense. They live for hundreds if not thousands of years, they see generation by generation go by, and it falls onto their shoulders to save it. They have no break, they have no peace. It’s sad, but a reality we as the audience must understand. No matter how tough, or powerful Astartes are, they are still human. Everyone has a breaking point.

We have all seen whats happens when a salamander is genuinely angry... even Khorne doesnt want that smoke.
