How come a spiritual leader is commenting on the value of women based on their looks? This is not funny, not intelligent and not politically correct. It is wrong. It is debasing and makes people lose respect for a monk such as the Dalai Lama for talking about human beings in this manner.

Isn't he saying that if the 15th Dalai Lama is a woman that she will be very attractive? And if she's not then they will have discovered the wrong person.

I just watched a longer version with the Australian journalist and he said that he often jokes that if it's a female she must be very attractive. So it's a joke, maybe not a funny one but a joke all the same.
