Best track in the UK as you get the chance to race Oscar there 😂 I look forwards to posting the video here from Oscar's view point, was a great night and an honour to meet you and Joseph.
It definitely was a fun one! I look forward to seeing them too, will be interesting to see how he got on and it was great to meet the pair of you too, look forward to seeing you again soon 🫶🏾
Never been to TS Birmingham but it seems quite good, especially the layout which seems really fun. Would you say the kart parity is good and you just got unlucky with a few karts or is it as bad as Cardff?
It’s a really fun track, have enjoyed it whenever I’ve been up, highly recommend it! I think I just got unlucky in the last session, although the kart I had in the second session was arguably the best one there so that’s why I got very similar times in the 2nd and 3rd sessions (the qualifying line I took in the 3rd edging out the normal line I took in the quicker kart in the 2nd).
Looks like a really fun track, i will have to give it a go if i find myself up in birmingham. Great drive Ben, you can tell how much your lines improved throughout the course of the video 👏🏼. I do have a question from watching you turn in to the hairpins like that as i am struggling myself with the hairpins at bristol. Would you suggest to aggresively turn into them or try to be as smooth as possible? And would the same technique apply to them all? And when braking is it a slight tap on the brake and then turn, or a longer time on the brake and turn in while breaking? Thanks Ben, great video as always, looking forward to the next one!
It’s a great track, would highly recommend it, have always had fun whenever I’ve been up there! For hairpins I find it’s different depending on different tracks. Here I found turning in quite sharply and using less of the brake worked, whereas at Bristol I would tend to be smoother when turning in and rotate the kart with a sharp but light brake. Another example would be at Reading last night, I found turning aggressively and very subtly tapping the brake quickly got it turned a lot better in comparison to being completely smooth. Try with both methods at Bristol and see what feels more comfortable, although I would recommend being as smooth as you can at Bristol ✌🏾 Thank you as always Katie I really appreciate it!
