I envy you Crystal for getting to experience the miracle of birth so many times each year. I have delivered 1 calf 1goat 1foal a huge breech kitten and dozens of puppies. Each time is beautiful.

Derick, you need to do commercials. You have the voice for announcing. Who don't love Lodi???? I sure do. Luck buck. He's had a good long life. Will you leave him in with the other bucks or somewhere else? It will be a sad day when Lucky is no longer with the herd. He's made beautiful babies. I love y'all soap. every time you say the bucks smell bad i remember one time i was in Austria in a hotel, the boss, a nice lady married a farmer and the buck, called Elvis escaped his farm in the hills and came all the way to the hotel. I smelled him up to the third floor. And the response of everyone in the hotel was: "Oh Elvis is here..." It was funny XD

Awesome job, DereK! You need to make more videos. I'm sorry to hear there isn't a type of retirement village for ornery bucks but I can't think of a way to keep him from bashing the world either. I hope he doesn't end up on a plate though, that would just be too sad. He worked hard for your family. Maybe some one in the community here would want to adopt a cranky he man of a goat. I really like and appreciate how much you care for goats and don't let them suffer and whilst putting them down is not fun, you do what is the best for them. They all had great life, pampered and spoiled and when they suffer so much, it is not a life any more and you do make the right decisions for them. it is a selfless act as I believe letting them continue to be in pain and suffer would be selfish. you are great people.

They might but what they were saying is that he might have to be put down, no buck likes to be alone and it isn't fair to expect him to be able to hold his own against younger bucks. He is an old guy and it is hard to retire a buck.

I was raised with cows. No bulls. Once the cows had their hierarchy established, everyone was cool. I have heard stories that was the case with the bulls from the beef ranches. They would return from breeding their chosen heard, have a huge fight to sort dominance, then live peacefully until they were separated and returned the next year. I am gathering it is not the same with goats. The pecking order is always under revision.

@@CarmenDL1 He has had a happy life, even if he had just one boy in with him they would fight and fight and maybe the other buck would kill him. Is that what you want? For him to live the rest of his life unhappy and getting beaten on? Have you ever owned bucks? It may seem simple from your point of view but what if he lived to next breeding season? Then what? leave him in his own pen while all the bucks get girls, breeding is hard on a buck especially on an old guy.

Glad to see that Lucky still maintains his personality even in his older and wounded age. We are just getting started and have 3 new buckling that are 5 months old. We had rented a 5 year old buck to breed our 2 does (1st freshners) and his head was all bald too from fighting. We should be expecting our first goat babies the end of Febuary into March 2023. I was wondering if you have or can make a video about your soap cool down (curing) cabinet?

But, I was curious if u have to check for ticks and other disease carrying creatures on the legs n belly and inside each of their ears after each browsing...
