The "polarizing" argument is invalid though when nearly everyone on earth agrees that his movies are terrible. Only a very vocal minority think his movies are masterpieces.
@@superchunkie1 if you think "woke" is one of this movie's biggest problems I would assume it's just your trigger word and you need a safe space to go cry like a snowflake.
Zack Snyder seems to be stuck In his edge lord phase. He thinks slow-mo, dark lighting, badass characters, and gore is all you need to make a compelling movie; good original writing and actual substance be damned.
I think it's pretty clear that what the man wants to be is the next george lucas, someone who crafts this modern "epic" - he is plainly enarmoured with pulling from a lot of old myths (at least their pop culture interpretation) and constant attempts to make scenes or characters appear larger than life (slow-mo etc.). Problem really is that he doesn't realise that star wars worked out because you had groundbreaking visions from a ton of different people - instead he is, like george lucas during the prequels, surrounded by yes-men.
There’s a family guy episode where Brian gets hopped up on aderall and makes a sci-fi story to pitch to George rr Martin and it ends up being mega dogshit. That’s Zack Snyder a rebel moon
I wish we could see a villain who cares for his troops and actively listens to them. It would be nice to see a bad guy who's scary because they are well informed about the protagonist's actions and have loyal troops who are ready to die for their boss.
they should make a movie from a goon's perspective where they get PTSD from something like that and over the course of the story have a change of heart knowing it could've been them at any moment, wanting to protect their family and yadda yadda, eventually saving the good guy's life in the climax by killing the villain themselves seriously some movies make it so obnoxious you just can't help but wonder why the minions don't turn on their boss at any point
@@joewaugh2464difference was there was a genuine reason for gus to do that, victor was seen at a crime scene, and therefore was a loose end, not to mention he proved a useful point to Walt and Jesse.
I still remember how flabbergasted i was when in Army of the Dead they're shooting a horde of zombies and one of them is a robot. Like the camera focuses on it and everything. No characters address that, the movie had never introduced robot zombies before and no more robot zombies appear after. That's Zack Snyder's storytelling for you
But then he chooses to explain things that don’t happen. They set up comatose zombies that come to life if it rains. But it never rained, so we didn’t even get to see it.
And then you get his fans saying you have to watch the next 2 movies that havnt been released to understand what's going on because Snyders plan is to make 10 movies in this universe all at 3 hours with 5 hour directors cuts
@@matrixmdogSnyder’s fanbase is the most copium addicted group. You’re 100% right lmfao. They’ll use movies that don’t even exist yet to justify the horrible decisions he made in the movie that actually exists. That and his movies have the legit biggest plotholes ever. Like in AOTD, why does this guy need a safe cracker to get into HIS safe? It’s his fucking safe, he should just be able to give them the code, no? And in ZSJL, I’ll never forget how Snyder went “oh Darkseid got beat up and a lot of time passed, so he forgot about earth” the one place where Darkseids singular goal and only defeat ever was
@@bigdadybojangls9219 oh 100% bro. I had to look up the robot zombie bullshit after watching the film and i found an interview where Snyder's like: "oh yeah there are robot zombies amongst them because the goverment uses them to spy on the zombies" and im like: they fucking WHAT???
Remember this is the same movie which had a completely throw away plot as the “smart” zombie they needed was literally hanging around the main entrance to the infected zone…

@@downfromthereeeftersmy personal favourite was the ship that apparently let the fucking turret gunners have *flight control authority* and no one can override them???
They cancelled a lot of good (and less good but still better than THAT) shows, unfortunately. 1899, for example, wasn't perfect, but it deserved a second season, if only for the characters (that were way more developped than Zack Snyder's "heroes").
dumbest scene for me was: - After murdering the royal family, betraying Cora and blaming her for their deaths. Cora shoots 5 guards, points the gun at the Endgame boss, General's head, then for no apparent reason, shows him mercy, lowers the gun and walks away.
It's almost like she was going thru emotional trauma towards her adoptive father? You people are entirely too stupid. She didn't show him mercy, her emotions took over and she couldn't pull the trigger. But I don't expect someone with a below average iq to understand that.
Not to mention of the orchestra who were there blasting dem violins while all of this betrayal shit was happening? Like shit did the bad guys thought it was that vital to have them in their grand plan in first place? WHAT THE FUCK EVEN IS THAT SCENE?!?!?!

The moment he said (in a recent interview) "I only listened to friends of mine who share the same opinions as me" I knew this was going to be worse than the first film.
I assume it's not his money. So it's infinite money hack for him. It's sad though, imagine if Uwe Boll got this kind of money. He would have created best fun bad series of all times.
How else was Zack supposed to shoot his character development in slow-motion? The man is pushing the limits of cinema! Even French avant-gardist directors wouldn't dare make a movie that plays almost entirely at 0.25x speed; but Snyder went ahead and did it!
Worse thing is they tell you while they show you sometimes and from nowhere/suddenly as a flashback. If the flashback killing of the king was the first scene was at the begging as a nightmarw it would be better
Part of me wants him to keep making worse and worse movies so we can see the flaming downfall of the last Snyder fan. But the rest of me realizes he's taking resources away from actual good ideas that could be something incredible.
Has anyone ever considered that Zach makes the ultra long director's cuts precisely because no one will bother to watch them, just so he and his fans can be like "Ah ha! See, you didn't watch it, so you can't properly comment on it!"

They also stole the crown logo from Kingdom Hearts. Some people could say it’s just a crown but look up the crown from Kingdom Hearts and compare it to the pin on the soldiers. It’s exactly the same with those iconic notches in the middle.
This reminds me of Redlettermedia discussing his DC movies. "They're self-awaee enough to recognise the issues with their movies and then keep them there and change other things."
It was intended to be one film, but Snyder and his fellow screenwriters, like many writers in Hollywood today, were incapable of editing themselves during the writing process. Incompetent writing is the problem.
@@derkeheath5172 This gets more like Star Wars. Lucas wrote a huge script and I think it was Coppola who tore the front and back off and said "Here's your movie" so he could concentrate on making one, complete, coherent film. Has nobody learned nothing in 50 years?
the opening scene alone made my eye hurt with those lights aimed at the audience. Imagine after an entire screen of black space, then mostly brown-dark brown set and props, he cuts to spotlights and some splinter cell flashlight thing aimed straight to your eyes.
By this point these movies are either a money laundering scheme or Zac Snyder is so salty about the negative reception that he keeps on making them just out of spite

The problem of characters just telling the audience "You are supposed to feel this way about them, despite not seeing them exhibit that through actions" is the same damn problem I had with his DC movies. Everyone harps on and on about Superman being this amazing symbol of hope, rather than SHOWING him as this amazing paragon of virtue. Lots of people gave that a slide because "Well duh, we all know Superman" but now we're seeing that same attitude applied to characters the audience has no pre-existing understanding or relationship to.
For James in particular. If Zack had explained why James left and watched from the sidelines I think James would’ve been a great character but instead when he finally fights it’s like “oh. You finally decided to show up?”

To be fair, warhammer 40k has stolen so many things from other franchises. The modern space marine helmet is basically just darth vader's mask without the helmet part. It's also basically just dune but edgier. Warhammer 40k really has no room to judge these guys when it comes to stealing ideas from the story. Plus it's also just smarter to let this fizzle out and die naturally without attaching it to warhammer, because then it lives forever as the thing GW tried to kill.

I’m so glad they stopped his stuff before they got into Fourth World proper. I mean on one hand it’s cool we got a big screen Darkseid at all but if it were more Snyderverse version? Not worth it!
Snyder doesn't just need a writer. He needs an editor who's willing to say no to him and cut out all the superfluous but pretty scenes that he's too in love with to remove.
In the first movie someone says that "scargiver" is one of Kora's nicknames as this sort of legendary warrior... which is actually a lot less intimidating that what Zack Snyder thinks it is, I mean, a scar means that you survived your injuries, which means she isn't that deadly of a warrior (dead people don't have scars, they're just dead)... also, I remember like the names Titus and Nemesis from the first movie because of how generic they're, and I didn't remembered that the animal guy was named "Tarak" but when they said their name in the second movie I thought "oh, I get it! Its sound similar to 'Tarzan' because he's basically a copy of Tarzan" and that's why I remember his name
The animal guy pissed me off because they show him having affinity woth animals but like they don't use it at all. And it would have been so easy to as its an agriculture village it will have farm animals, they don't have to make anything big out of it but say a scene with the enemy using their tank and from behind a wall all these massive bulls/cows come charging through it with him leading the charge and they just ram into the side of the tank taking it out and trampling any soldiers perhaps have it seem like he died on that charge and have it that he did or the animal he was writing comes out from the smoke once the battle is over heavily injured and limping with him lying on it down unconscious
Zack Snyder is that highschooler that found out how to do animations in Powerpoint, and now every single presentation he does is stocked full of edgy and dark slide transitions.
@friedrice7876 if it was a two parter and more flushed out, and I hate the run time cutting bs. Directors should have all the time they need to tell their story.
@friedrice7876 I'd rather let directors create whatever they need to tell the story properly not cut a bunch of stuff out so they can squeeze a dollar out by showing more viewings
They don’t need to, it’s a known thing already that there are R-rated directors cuts coming (and of course the excuses that those are the real versions and they’ll get much better reviews….like sex scenes and gore will actually improve anything….bunch of bloody edgelord 13 yr olds)
No idea if this is true, but allegedly "Release the Snyder cut" was astroturfed as hell. It would've been part of massive, widespread social media botting by corpos and big individuals, that has only recently starting to become exposed.
He is honestly the worst director in modern Hollywood and one of the worst of all time. He cannot tell a story, he cannot create good dialog, he cannot make an interesting character, he make Michael Bay look good in comparison.
When it comes to most films from Marvel or Disney, I can give a pass because the writers got wrecked by the CEOs. Zack Snyder isn't a writer. He *is* that CEO.
“He is unable to write compelling characters and a good story” Yet the Snyder cult legitimately believes he is some *writing genius that is too smart of the common person. No, he ain’t, he just is fundamental not a good story teller
