"Never Been to Spain" "One" "Shambala" "Eli's Comin" "Black and White" "Family of Man" "The Show Must Go On" "Pieces of April" "Easy to Be Hard" "Just an Old Fashioned Love Song" "Celebrate" "Liar" and many more. TDN had over 20 top 40 hits in the few years they were around. They dominated the radio in the first half of the 70's. They were HUGE.
I still know every word to this song!! They have a wide range of lyrics & emotion in their music. This was just for fun!! Sing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog...” and EVERYONE will know the next line.
Jay/Amber, you'll love their "Shambala" ,"Never Been to Spain" and "An Old Fashioned Love Song" are next for you!! That is Chuck Negron on lead vocals. Chuck, Cory Wells and Danny Hutton all took turns on lead vocals on their songs
@@bmw128racer Yes, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has become a joke and it is too bad because there are so many bands who should be inducted that are not.
They’ve got a lot of hits with 3 different lead singers Chuck Negron sings this one ☮️💜. Old Fashioned Love Song ( live). Eli’s Coming. Shambala. One. Never Been to Spain. Pieces of April. Liar. Black and White

You couldn't have gone to a wedding in the 70's without hearing this song. People who couldn't remember the title would call it 'Jeremiah was a bullfrong'
This was my father's absolute favorite song. Sadly, he passed away several years ago. When we were talking to the funeral director about music for his service, he asked us what his favorite song was. My mother and I looked at each other, then at him, and in unison said, "Joy To The World." He smiled and said, "Oh, he liked carols." My mother and I laughed for the first time in several days, and both shook our heads. I was finally able to answer, "No, the one by Three Dog Night." The poor gentleman just stared at us for a minute until he realized which song we meant. lol I hear this song, and it's so joyful, but bittersweet, too. Thank you so much for reacting to this one, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it as much as my family does.
This is the first song I ever learned! I was 3 and my mom taught me this song. She said we went to a restaurant and I sang this song as loud as I could and everyone in the restaurant laughed and clapped. This song absolutely has a special place in my heart. Great song to react to!
This is a pretty big music box to open you two. Back in the seventies these guys always had something playing on the radio. "One (is the loneliest number), "Shambala", "Never Been to Spain", "Celebrate", "Easy to be Hard", "Black or White". The 3 lead singers were Cory Wells (RIP), Chuck Negron and Danny White.
As for the other song you reacted to, Cory Wells was the lead singer on Mama Told Me Not to Come, a humorous fun rocker! This one is sung by Chuck Negron. Black and White is a song that you will absolutely love by Three Dog Night, with lead vocals by Danny Hutton! But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of their songs.
Plus, they listened to a live version of that song for the first listen. I love live music as much as anyone but that's a major no-no when hearing a great song for the first time IMHO Lol
The smile on Amber’s face made this video one of my all-time favorites on this channel. The song is a favorite, but Amber’s reaction takes it next level!
Joy to the world Came out in 1971 . I was 10 in Kodiak Alaska I remember the spot i was standing on.. Looking at Down town It was playing on the radio I was a Fan at 10 years old ,,Hot Dam i miss the 70s
The way Chuck Negron is singing in this song is what my oldest brother would call "whiskey-ing it up". Basically, it's singing the way one would in a hole-in-the-wall, chicken wire around the stage, backroads bar. It's beautiful if done well, and he does it well here.
Three Dog Night is an American-Irish rock band from the 60's-70's. This band had a lot of energy. They had 3 guys with great voices that could all sing lead vocals. Some other great songs are "One", "Just An Old fashioned Love Song", Eli's Coming", Shambala", "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Never Been To Spain", "Easy To Be Hard", "The Show Must Go On" etc.
This was one of the groups on the 8-track in the paneled and carpeted Chevy van with the curtains and the beads. The joy of my youth! My parents rocked!

I had a 66 Chevy van fully converted into a living space with a table that made down into a bed and full cabinets. The main feature was an awesome sound system!
It’s almost impossible to not be happy listening to this song Three Dog Night was a big part of my childhood in the 70s.. you just can’t go wrong with anything from them
As someone who's first name is Jeremiah, it was hard to grow up without someone mentioning this song. In my childhood it was kinda annoying but as I turn 30 all I can do it embrace it. It's a a great song and I love watching people react to it for the first time.
Three Dog Night is a deep rabbit hole of greats. "Out In The Country" is the "Before the breathing air is gone" environmental song when everyone in the audience held up their lighters in tribute. "Never been to Spain" was my cousin's favorite RIP. I can't name my favorite because I love all that others a saying.
I love this song so much. I worked in a bar during college in the 90s, and this song was played nightly. Amber, you may have heard this song in a movie or commercial: 28 Days, The Muppets, Forrest Gump, etc.. My FAVORITE Three Dog Night song, by far - Never Been to Spain. Other good ones: Shambala Old Fashioned Love Song Mama Told Me Sure as I'm Sittin' Here
When I was a child in the 70s this was my favourite song. I remember begging my mom to let me spend my allowance on this album. I think it was the first album I ever bought with my own money, and I still have it.
Chuck Negron is lead singer on this song but they each have lead on their other songs. I got Chuck's autograph after a show in Ardmore, OK in 1983 when they reunited in early 80s. The album "It's A Jungle was the tour they were on. Chuck and Cory Wells were going to bus after show, and I talked to them a bit and ask for autograph. Cory was carrying plates of food so he couldn't but Chuck signed a flier about the album for me. Both were very nice....Danny Hutton was already on bus so didn't meet him.
"Frog" was a nickname for somebody from France. "I never understead a single word he said but he always had some mighty fine wine" sounds like a reference to having a French born friend that you got along with, despite the language problems.
These 3 guys are Awesome they take turns singing you have to hear more of their stuff like - Shambala - Never been to Spain - Black and White - One - The Show must go on - Just an Old Fashioned Love song - Easy to be hard....
I know the motor home driver for the current Three Dog Night band and he gave us free tickets to see them in concert near Columbus Ohio right before the pandemic. They sounded so good! I got to go backstage and meet the band.Danny Hutton, one of the original founding members sang most of the leads and if you closed your eyes, you'd swear you were back in the 70s.Chuck Negron sings Joy To The World.
This is one of my favorite bands. I would grab my dad’s albums while he was at work. They all three sing lead on different songs. Black and White, Old Fashion Love Song, Eli’s Coming, One and so many more!! The guy singing this song is Chuck Negron. The other singers are Danny Hutton and the great Cory Wells, R.I.P.
I was in 7 th grade when this song came out. It was our class song- every Friday our teacher would play this song and everyone got out of their chairs and let loose. Three Dog Nights ruled the charts from early mid 70s. One, Black & White and Never Been to Spain you must check out.
this song was so big back then.... Still brings a smile to my face. these guys were so next level singers... and it reminds me of the styles back then. stacks and cuff pants were so cool.
Three dog night consisted of three very talented singers and their band, great voices, many great hits, definitely feel good music. Recommend "Never been to Spain". Thanks Peace!
You can grab a Three Dog Night "Best of" or Greatest Hits CD, and play it for those young ones. Pretty sure the whole family will love all of those songs.
Chuck Negron is the lead singer on _Joy To The World_ I sent you an email a month ago with some Three Dog Night songs. One I thought you would really like is called _Out In The Country._ 🥺 Actually, Three Dog Night has a song called "One." 😆 You should listen to that song also.
I was 7 when this song came out in 1970 all us kids ever saw and most of the songs were about Vietnam to us little frightened kids this song was to us "Joy to the World all the boys and girls Joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea" made us so happy I'll forever remember it and be thankful!
I'm 56 years old so I grew up with Three Dog Night and Elvis(I was 12 when Elvis died, for days America cried), Can you imagine hearing all of this everyday on your radio including BeeGees, Diana Ross, Aretha, James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Meatloaf, Marvin Gaye, Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker, Lil Richard, Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Beatles, Eagles, Wings, Chicago, Steve Miller Band, Dolly, Kenny Rogers, KISS, AC/DC, RunDMC MCHammer, Elton John, Glenn Campbell, Don McLean, Ray Price, Charlie Pride, Ray Charles, The Jackson Five, Michael Jackson, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, ELO, Marshall Tucker, Lynyrd Skynyrd, RamJam, Madonna, Blondie, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Beach Boys, The Commodores, ABBA, Sly and the Family Stone, Little River Band, Alabama, Hootie n the Blowfish, Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd The Police, Judas Priest, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Allman Brothers Band, The Who, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, The Doors, Foreigner, Styx, whew just to name a few,,,,,,
The Three of them had great voices. This is Chuck Negron on lead , Cory Wells sang lead( Mama Told Me Not To Come) , and Danny Hutton. Other great songs -Sure As I’m Sitting here , Celebrate, Out In The Country & Easy To Be Hard.
This song never fails to bring a smile to my face! Drop the phrase "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" into any conversation and you'll get interesting results. If you pursue them, I'd go for Shambala next, followed by Old Fashioned Love Song.
"Shambala (1975)" and "Black and White" this has been one of the most underrated bands. Which has always surprised me considering they have so many beautiful songs. 🤗🎸🔥❤️
Our family Christmas routine is now evening mass where they have the kids choir, so it's standing room-only with lots of younger-siblings-not-so-happy to hear their big brother or sister sing... One rather energetic young kid "are we done yet? I already hear him singing at home.." heard the last hymn "Joy to the World" and shouted out loudly, "I know that one- Grandpa plays it- "gegimiga was a Bullfrog, was a good friend of mine!" It took a good 30 seconds for the choir director to compose herself and keep a straight face for the actual Christmas carol...
If you do "Eli's Coming" be sure to do the LIVE Soundstage version. "One" is powerful also. "Black and White" is about racial harmony. "Shambala" ...so many hits!
here's a story on how the band got it's name . The sled dog race in Alaska the participants would have the dogs curl up with them at night to keep warm , and one of the racers said "It's gonna be so cold tonight's a three dog night " .
Three Dog Night and have great fell good songs with different members singing. Please continue reaction g to this group all their songs are amazing . Love y’all lots and good vibes and smiles .🤗😊❤️🔥
I was reading the comments below and kept seeing more and more songs by them that I'd forgotten. Try A Little Tenderness and the cover of The Band's Chest Fever are must-hears! Please please more Three Dog Night!!!
That's Chuck singing lead on this one. Corey sung lead on Shambala and Never Been to Spain. Chuck has a phenomenal voice. You should listen to Pieces of April to hear him being subtle and soaring at the same time.
Hoyt Axton who is from Duncan, Oklahoma wrote this song during a recording session. He was also an actor who was in Bonanza and Gremlins. He also wrote Never Been to Spain for Three Dog Night.
Great band! They were huge in the 70s! Chuck Negron is one of the all time great voices of pop and rock!Rick! Three Dog Night = three lead singers. Cory Wells is the lead on Mana Told Me Not To Come. Chuck Negron is lead here.
We sung a sanitized version of this in music class when I was in elementary school. They changed the lyrics about Jeremiah's wine (changed to "always had a mighty fine time") and the part about making love was taken out.
Check Negron is the lead vocal on this. Three Dog Night had over 20 consecutive Top 40 Hits between 1969 and 1974. HUGE! Check out One, An Old Fashioned Love Song, Eli’s Coming, Liar, Pieces of April, and Never Been To Spain for starters. Even “album cuts” like Going in Circles, Woman, and Midnight Runaway just kill! Check out their song “Chest Fever” from the album “Captured Live At The Forum.” Amazing!
One of my favorite bands..!!! Chuck’s voice is exquisite. They have so many awesome songs. Please check out more of their awesome songs: Shambala, Easy To Be Hard. Mamma Told Me Not To Come.
I heard this song when I was a pre-teen kid in the 1970s. The impression that I got from it is how it sounds like a children's song. It talks about Jerimiah the Bullfrog and the fishes in the deep blue sea, things that sound like they are from a children's storybook. But yet it's rock and roll, so to me it sounded like rock and roll for kids.
I was born in 1965 so I was a little young for TDN. BUT I had two sisters who were 9 & 10 years older than I. So TDN was being played all the time. "Joy To The World" was their absolute favorite and they wore the 45 they bought for .69 at KMart OUT with playing it!
One of my favorite rock bands back in the early seventies was 3 dogs 🐕 night 🌙 love this song 🎵 🎶 ❤ 😍 🙌 😀 🎵 🎶 ❤ 😍 we need to share this beautiful song to the whole wide world 🌐 🌎 ❤ 😍 🎶 😀 🌐 🌎 ❤
When the song first came out years ago, it was my family's tradition on Christmas Eve to go to church for a communion service. My mother, who was terminally bashful, hated to sit up front and prefer to sit about 3/4 of the way back but unfortunately this year we were running a bit late and the only seats available were toward the front ( second or third row if I remember correctly ). The first time starts and it's the old Christmas Carol Joy to the World. Unfortunately for my brother, who was about six or seven at the time, the only Joy to the World he knew was this one and he proceeded to belt it out! He couldn't understand why everybody was seeing the wrong song and my mother couldn't shut him up! We still laugh about that today at Christmas.
I saw this top-notch dance band play at the Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, NE in the early 90s. They had made a comeback after a bout with drugs, etc. People wanted to DANCE! The cops kept chasing dancing people back to their seats. The band begged the cops to let them dance. Took a while but the cops gave in and let us dance!
