HiSense model# 55R6E3, 55" TV just flashes on and off repeatedly. I fix this issue for under $1.00 and the caps I replaced were from From www.digikey.com. I used part number 493-2048-ND which is a DESC: CAP ALUM 10UF 20% 350V RADIAL. Give that info to a tech at Digikey and they can pull up the same cap for you. I would get one about 2MM less wide than what those are if it was me. Just tell the tech you need the same Capacitor but 10MM wide by 20MM tall . :)
Ask to speak to a tech when you call Digikey. They will put you right on the line with one and they will know exactly what you need. Just tell them you need Radial Electrolytic Capacitors that are 10UF and 350 Volts in the size 10MM wide by 20MM tall (MM stands for millimeters). Good luck everyone :)
This is what you all need from Digikey: :)
www.digikey.co... is what you need. The part# is 493-4775-1-ND - Cut Tape (CT)

This video was so helpful and the exact issue I had, I bought a 55" TV off marketplace for $30 and did this fix to have a nice TV replacement. But man Soldering was a pain in the ass as someone who hasn't done anything with solder it probably would've been better to not waste time and just buy a used board lol. I'm very thankful you had like the only video explaining this fix though so I appreciate you posting this.

Thank you! My Roku senseless POS 55" TV started flashing on and off, I'm thinking s#t, it is not even 3 yrs old and I have to burn $1k on another brainwasher. But! I saw this vid, went to digi-tech, got a pack of 10 caps 10mf 350 volts, paid $5 + expedited shipping to get them the next day as the wife threatened to buy a new teevee in time for the thanksgiving party. Got the caps at 10 am, and found a guy to solder them bcz that is not my thing. He charged me $100, but he is a circuit board surgeon. Put everything back together and BOOM I back in my blissful trance! Put the black screen beauty back on the wall and took my cc away from the wife. God bless you! I now have $900 left over to spend on ... well, something else for the wife, but at least it was not for a new teevee. 📺 With 8 caps left over, I'll be able to get maybe 10 more years out of the Roku

Currently, I own the same model television. Although, it will not power up at all. It's less than 3 years old so, I'm assuming it's having the same problem. From my research, this seems to be a widely known problem with these units. I'm legally blind so, I'll have a friend uninstall the motherboard and take a look at the capacitors. Still, if I do repair it with new capacitors I'm wondering if it'll experience the same problem down the road. Perhaps, Hisense chose to use low quality capacitors but, it remains to be seen if using a higher quality capacitor will solve the issue permanently. In fact, I'd be curious to know if you have any insights on that?
@lordmater
@lordmater 8 месяцев назад
Its hard to say because it might just be low quality caps, they are used in soooo many devices that I repair, but sometimes it can be other things causing the caps to go bad. Either way, I do wish you the best of luck in your repair endeavour. It definitely a widely know problem with these TVs. Hisense probably needs a class action lawsuit against them for this known issue.
@dr.fitprofessor1970
@dr.fitprofessor1970 8 месяцев назад
@@lordmater yeah, I would tend to agree. I have two of these televisions and it's only a matter of time until the other one goes out. Lol. Although, I am struggling to find exactly the same rated capacitor. They seem to be in short supply and the ones I'm finding are mostly for ceiling fans. They should work as long as there is room for them on the motherboard. They're a little bigger than the ones that are there now.

I have a hisense 65" that is doing the very same thing. After changing the main board which didn't work i found your video. :) However my board has a group of 6 capacitors, capxon , from what read are junk, 470uf 25v and down a bit (about an inch) another row of 3 capacitors 10uf 350v and there are 2 more spread across the board about 5" or so by them selves 68uf 50v. The thing is none of them show any signs of swelling or anything. "(don't have in circuit tester) After watching your video i ordered the 6 and the 3 (rubycon) but did not order the individual 2. Thanks for the video, hope this works when i get them. Just wondering if you've ever ran into that your self. From what i've read i guess it happens.
@lordmater
@lordmater 2 года назад
I have ran in to that. They can still be bad even though not swollen. They make a Capacitor Tester that allows you to test them in circuit (meaning while they are still installed). Usually though if I dont see swollen caps I wont go any further.

Mine is doing the same, except I have a 58" (58R6E3). Will the same caps fit my model as well? It messed up Sunday and has been in a reboot loop, it took 5 days and 15 different customer service people with Hisense and Roku for me to partially figure it out. It took this video to tell me what I needed.😐 Idk the steps to put on the caps, but hopefully me or my husband will figure it out. It's frustrating!
@lordmater
@lordmater 2 года назад
You can look down the side of the Capacitor and it will tell you what it is. It will say something like 25 UF 350 Volts or something like that. BE SURE to order only the same exact thing. Also I would turn the TV off and unplug it. If you leave it plugged in you may damage the TV beyond this easy repair.

I honestly cannot remember. It either just pulls off or you have to mash it and then pull it while you are mashing it. Another question sorry but I also have a 55” Hisense and it does the exact same thing as yours but I don’t know which exact capacitors to get.

You can get them from many places. Do a google search or check Ebay. :)

So they've since discontinued these exact capacitors, now you have to buy substitutes. Don't know why you skipped showing taking out the bad capacitors and putting in the new ones, that's the part we need to see.

No i lied , rebooted 10 times then it started lagging and glitching when it came on . so i did a factory reset and it worked perfectly after 2 months of waiting on capacitors 😭

Same here, I've got a 65" and the capacitors look fine, no bulge at all but it's turning off and on for me.
