But who said Otumfour is a king .The Asanteman calls him Asantehene. There is no king in Ghana because Ghana is under constitutional rule and not monarchical rule. HOWEVER, the Asantehene cannot be referred as a paramount chief. THIS is because he has other paramouncies under him so l think he is an overlord. Otumfour has more than 66 paramount chiefs under him.And it is important to state that these paramount chiefs are not only in Ashanti Region.

You see what I am saying, the position of the Otumfour the Asantehene ‘’ the laws of Ghana is not able to define the position of the Asantehene’ Now the issue is that, the position of the Otumfour is not definable by the laws or the constitution of Ghana. The history as narrated by Mr Anokye is not entirely true. There are distortions. Dormaa was not a state before the confederacy of independent states. Offinso was a conquered area which was bequeathed to the leader of Offinso people at Bekyem. I am not even sure at that time the original name of this area was called Offinso.

I follow this man quite a lot and understands his story telling😂. Most of the time, he uses names or references in present day time in a story of around the 1600s. It’s normal. Example, the first war was between Kwaman and the people of Dormaa and not Asante. Asante was formed way after that incident. So pardon him. That’s how he tells his stories. Nevertheless, he is a gem and has wealth of knowledge in academic history.

This is a recounted history and not a thesis, so you have to understand. It is a summary account of history. It doesn't mean all details have to fall in place before understanding. You Ghanaians always jump to designate someone as a liar when a summary of history is being given meanwhile you are able to watch a two-hour movie that represent several years of action. Grow up and understand it.

@@dinho4real that is how history is recounted so that the listener knows whom the account refers to. that doesn't mean he does not know that the first war was between kwaman and dormaa (even you, the reference of dormaa is recent because during that first war there was no dormaa). @@dennisbrown7930 Asante officially became a union state with Ghana in 1957, prior to that they had all these things that you are talking about. In the hisstory of Ghana they were the most organized group of people in terms of administration just like a mini country, that's why the British even refer to the Asantehene as king because they had an attribute of a kingdom. They were the most smartest among all the other tribes that's why they always brag that they're civilized. I'm not an Ashanti but i admire the cleverness of their ancestors

Those days when Ashanti was a kingdom there was no country called Ghana but the moment they joined Gold Coast, Northern Territories and Western Togoland to form the country Ghana their kingdom and kingship ended. This Man Is Ignorant of Asante History. During the time of Obiri Yeboah there was nothing like Asante. Obiri Yeboah was not among the Chiefs who came together to form Asante. Also Osei Tutu Came with 300 soldiers from Akwamu not 700. Offinso was never defeated by the Asantes and they have never fought any war. Offinso was an ally of Kwaeman during Obiri Yeboahs Era. The land was given to them by the wife of Obiri Yeboah. Offinso fought on the side of kwaemang during Kwaeman Vrs Domaa war. They were among the people who voluntary agreed to come together to form Asante Kingdom, Check your records to find out when Offinso became a Paramount Chief.

The Asante is a traditional independent nation. The Asante is only in a union state with Ghana. The Asante has their independence in 1935 and the Asantes only decided to join the then Gold Coast after they also had their independence in 1957. Though constitutional rule but customary laws makes the Asantehene the Otumfour which is even bigger than a King. Check the world’s invitations for Otumfour and you will see that the ROYAL MAJESTY -OTUMFOUR IS A KING. The Kingship of Otumfour is never determined by the written constitution period. Is the bitter truth. Analyze this from Otumfour’s convoy, entourage and understand that Otumfour is Ghana’s King and not only the Asantes.

Be reasonable. He is giving a recounted history, it doesn't mean he does not know the factual account. Obiri Yaboah's reign (the past before asanteman) is continued by asantehene in the present. That is what history is recounted so that the listener get to know the history as represented.
