Hanson is the author of Carnage and Culture: Landmark Battles in the Rise of Western Power (2001), a New York Times best-selling book. Bush, and was a presidential appointee in 2007-2008 on the American Battle Monuments Commission that oversees the cemeteries and monuments of U.S. war dead abroad. And I am in Germany, where it seems everybody lost their minds in the name of the Holy of Holiest Globalism. It's depressing.... To hear an intelligent and wise man talk, just like Jordan Peterson does, it's like tasting an old and good wine. It warms the soul. 💖
I want to save and hear the message of this wise gentleman to understand his words. I am grateful for his candor and simple delivery of his words. Tremendous food for thought.
He was saying that Trump wasn't concerned with the establishment or what people thought of him. Then he was pointing out that everything around us is liberal/ progressive leaning, and that they control what we hear. This guy is libertarian, and socially conservative. He says that rights are taken from us when we try to go against the establishment. Finally, he says that people are becoming ungrateful for what they have. Finally, he talks a lot of how the history was to liberate from dictatorships, but we are going backwards with progressive democracies. You are right though, when you listen to it again, you get even more message out of it. I would love to talk to this guy one on one.
Mark has always had an impressive list of guests on his show, and he never fails to find such interesting, quality guests. But, I would ask , why is he a singularity? Why aren't there other intelligent, socially relevant programs that could rival in his genre? I really can't think of any other such shows on the air today. Could it be our culture has been so dumbed down, as to exclude the possibility of any more than one such program existing simultaneously? Mark is brilliant and unique, yet I can't help but think there must be other personalities capable of producing an equivalently high quality, entertaining, and cerebral program, and that would surely gain ready acceptance. I think it a sad commentary on society, and on the TV industry, for there not being more such shows. Well, anyway, thank God for Mark's show, at least.
Read "Who killed the Greeks." It's one of his more quiet ones. Yet, it is a complete antidote to liberal relativism and nihilism that is encompassed by Progressives.
As a classicist, he takes a long view and has studied so many empires in decline. I've little doubt that his background strengthens his perspective such that we should listen carefully to what he thinks.
None of it matters - BILLIONAIRES have always run America, still do, and what happens primarily is based on what THEY want. There is no equality. We fight over scraps for their amusement.
glen willard someone with two eyes who can actually see your folly and feel sorry for you. “American” is the last thing I’d call anyone who supports the orange Baffoon, but you are free to do and call yourself whatever you like.
Give this man at least an hour to spill his knowledge. This interview was perfect we got to hear his brilliant analysis. When he’s on Tucker or Laura his short segments aren’t enough u always want to hear more. Brilliant man
Trump is the best thing that could have happened to this country. I know this because the people who've been destroying it, try to convince me that he isn't.
@@andrewmitchell51 I would agree if you mean that when the US does well it does indirectly benefit the world, including China and Russia, which is not a bad thing, unless you are a neocon. If you are trying to say Trump is working for either China or Russia or their interests, you are a delusional idiot. Prove me wrong and try to make a remotely logical case for Trump working on behalf of either Russia or China. Its funny how the left is fine with McCarthyite tactics just when it helps them in the polls. Guess all of their outrage about McCarthy was always a pretense. Now we know the only reason they disliked McCarthy is because he belonged to the wrong party.
The fact is, if the democrat party is not disbanded this nation will suffer. This party has become the real enemy of this great nation it now embrasses socialism, communisim, Islamism, The open coup is still taking place Trump is right it is treason.ThIs nation was never built upon these principles. We have to come to grips with this fact if not it will only get worse.
@@DavidBrown-jk2pm Specifically: Part of the country, academia has gone off track. Trump is clearly a fake president with only his own interests in mind. See you in the darkness? Over & out....
22 years ago I was trying to get into the states from the ravages of Africa. I was rejected by the law. I was slightly relieved because I noticed that the people had so much freedom and yet they were all on drugs and bit too out of control. I ended up in the UK. But I am glad trump is the president and the elites have lost their footing on the top of pyramid and they are terrified
Howard Petterson - All the best, Howard. Hope you're doing well. America has a dark side - money in politics, military-industrial complex, Israel lobby, etc. - but America also has a bright side - individualism, freedom, not to mention the amazing nature...
Howard Petterson we were very very poor from the poor country of the Philippines. I worked very hard to make it. I’ve never thought that I would ever set foot in the US. My first visit in the US was in 2000. I never forget, I cried before I left the airplane. I went to the US just for a quick training. I now work in Tokyo as an Architect. I was able to send my two children to college in the US. They graduated with honors, they are now working in the US. I think I reached the American dream.
I wish that I had studied this cat prior but it’s never too late! I appreciate his calm, sensible approach. This is the media we need our kids exposed to, not beyoncé ❤️⚡️
Intellectuals discussing productive truth vs. brooding demonic chickens fighting to decapitate all morality in spite of their own comfortable yet insane existence.
Really? The high divide between the super wealthy and the rest of population. One example Jeff Bezos makes the annual salary of his lowest-paid employees every 11.5 seconds. is that socialism? Because I think socialism and communism would not ideally allow that. Because he would be taxed to hell and cut his overall personal profit.
@@patrickcorrea6295 well Capitalism creates wealth for the business owners for sure, and I dont think that CEO's should make what they make either. However, it is people that buy their goods or services that make them rich. Now, obviously nobody can say that there is anywhere in the world where socialism works either. There really is two separate issues here, but my point is that socialism doesn't work in the long run. I think that the balance that lies in between, comes from honest people with leadership and skills to make evenly measured decisions. We dont have a lot of that nowadays, but the government doesn't know how to run a business. Look at the postal service, or when they ran the telegraph system. In both cases they fail, where free market thrives. Let's not forget that the government has a lot of highly paid people who decide what people get as well.
I don’t feel as isolated/alone when I hear him. Thank you. I still miss Firing Line and Charles Krauthammer... Paradise evacuee who craves mental stimulation from the ashes.
I have listened to Hanson many times and he is brilliant. Levine, too, is awesome. There are more that I believe love USA Thanks to all who bring the truth. You know who are.
The future belongs to those who see possibilities before they become obvious. The very essence of Leadership is that you have a vision. It's got to be a vision you articulate clearly and forcefully on every occasion. Donald J. Trump is without a doubt, the greatest President the World has ever seen. He has the vision and conviction to make dreams come true, and he inspires the power and energy to get things done efficiently.
This is refreshing to see a nice peaceful discussion. Mark Levin always treats his guests so respectfully. Enjoy the discussion of how our country transitioned from the founding fathers.
Hanson on the global elites throughtout history: "They all have one thing in common, they are not subject to the ramifications of their own ideologies." Great point.
What ? Something has gone wrong! You said it...just who is teaching and just what are they teaching our children? What has saved our country is that Trump became our President...
Victor Davis Hanson is one of the most intelligent people I have heard present solid logical reason concerning the state of our current political system. This man totally understands what Trump voters felt when we voted for president Trump. Thank you @MarkLevin
That probably has something to do with two things. One, he says exactly what you want to hear, so then maybe you'll buy his books, and two, you're probably not that bright.
"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: it's patriotism, its morality and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within" - Joseph Stalin
Victor Davis Hanson is brilliant. He is so articulate he makes complex concepts and historcial trends simple, easy to understand and hugely interesting to non scholars.
Great Book, from a Great Man Victor Davis Hanson. The changes Trump brings is a movement of the likes we have never seen by the push of the American People which saw the issues at hand. and supported the people. We, Our and Us he uses and continues to do so. He is for the American People, He is not a Globalist. Trump is Dangerous, but he's at a time when we need this dramatic change.
Very smart to have had Mark Levin have his own show. A perfect Sunday night conversation. Much nicer than hearing a solo frustrated Mr. Levin on radio. This is a Great Show !
