As usual,great deck,great gameplay,great commentary.Thank you sir.I had quite good sucess with a golgari version of sorin ripper deck.I had black market connections on 3cmc,delighted halfling, prosperous inkeeper and assemble the team as my green cards.Bombardment looks stronger and more fun tho!
Finally! Bloodghast is getting the respect it deserves! Ghast with dispute is so nice! I even switched to historic to be able to play that card combo. Makes hard casting vein ripper so easy and having an unlimited sac outlet is so sick. Got to mythic the fastest in a year thanks to Ripper/ghast deck i have. Only diffrence its mono black. New favorite arena tuber! Cheers!
Been building bloodghast bombardment for a while and thank you for now having everyone side boarding for it haha. What do you think of crucias to tutor for ripper? Your build is a lot lower curve although I feel like cacophony scamp can be a good addition with sorin.
Hey Alth, just wanted to say thanks so much for the awesome new decks you posts. I finally reached rank #1 for the first time using your naya legends deck in alchemy. What do you think of running 1 basic in the mana base just to play around demolition field. I have lost a couple of games to having only 2 lands after my opponent has destroyed 1 of them?
Yoo no worries at all and big congrats on hitting #1! I did consider running a basic but I barely ever saw Demolition Field when I was testing the deck and so I felt it was worth the risk not running any basics in order to fit more dual lands to increase the consistency finding colors, but if you're seeing Demolition Field I think running 1 basic is worth it.
yea love this guys channel. He actually builds decks he wants to play / rank with and explains them perfectly. A huge difference than the countless clickbait and meme deck channels out there
@@User_Fri3ndly Honestly, i'd be happy with him covering most formats excluding standard and alchemy. only cus i don't enjoy them personally lol. I love his breakdowns of timeless decks that decimated the annoying metas there, and i may revisit historic to try this out.
Kind of weird in Match 4: you were ranked #7 during the match, you beat the #1 ranked player, then your rank dropped to #8. In my experience, winning a ranked match either increases the rank or at least keeps it the same
Cool and powerful deck! How do you see humans positioned in historic metagame right now? Vein ripper and yawgmoth are scary enemies for the archetype and wizards can easy tear you apart without interactions such as portable hole and apparition (which doesn't target vein ripper though). In which combinations of colors the deck should be built seems tricky as well.
I saw a lot of high ranked players play in white black with thalia esper sentinel, peddler, kudro as a lord, jirina for graveyard hate and some top end like inquisitor captain
Yoo thanks a lot! I've considered streaming in the past but it doesn't really fit well with my schedule a lot of the time, and I also don't think I'd enjoy playing as much if I feel I need to be entertaining all the time as well so I'd be much more likely to get burnt out if you get me. I also really enjoy making dedicated vids & articles which would be hard to find the time for if I was streaming.
This list is much better imo, you have a much stronger proactive gameplan, you can close games out a lot faster thanks to ripper + bombardment, and the overall card quality is higher too.
I don't know if this really gets any great upgrades in Timeless tbh. There's Dark Ritual which is nice with Sorin but you'd need to rework the whole deck to make that work, and Fetchlands are a really nice bonus with Bloodghast + Bombardment but I don't think you'd be able to find a build which consistently beats Show and Tell so I'm not sure it'd work that well in the current metagame. If SnT gets restricted at some point it might be worth another look though.
The problem is that this deck just folds to fast combos. There aren't any meta combo decks in Historic atm (though Alth did say that he lost to a few fringe fast combo decks) but in Timeless they're everywhere, esp with S&T being the deck to beat right now
I think Bloodghast becomes a lot better with fetches in Timeless but the deck doesn't really gain much else since I think you'd have to rework the deck a lot to fit Dark Ritual in, and I think it'd struggle to consistently beat Show and Tell too. If SnT got restricted then I'd be more excited to try and port this over but I don't think it's worth it atm.
Looking at your statistics with this deck, it looks like you've been on the play a lot more than on the draw. Is that just luck or are you using some kind of trick?
If you mean where it says 82% on play 66% on draw that's my win percentage when I go first vs go second, not the percentage of times I'm on the play vs on the draw. I was actually on the draw 28/49 matches according to Untapped which is over half so if anything I got slightly unlucky (you can check this by clicking on the match and it says whether I was on play/ draw game 1).
@@mtgazonecom Those numbers don't make any sense to me. If you won 66% of 28 matches (which is already mathematically impossible, closest thing would be 18/28 or 64.3%), there is no way you could get to an overall 80% winrate in 49 total matches.
