You've done it again Alth, don't know how but you keep coming up with the best decks! Even substituting 6 rares I got: 5-0 in historic event, then did 3 x metagame challenge 7-0 7-0 2-1 (control deck killed me in the end) Amazing deck-building. Thanks! Can't wait to see what you come up with next. P.s. I still love your Elf Imperiorsaur deck - use it regularly for daily wins. Hope you have the time to do some more of those decks from scratch sometime, really cool.
@@flaviopica13 It was a BO3 Historic event - and same list as Alth, but I substituted portable hole for fragment reality, tocatly honor guard for hushbringer, skrelvs for giver of runes and a battlefield forge for a sunbaked canyon since I didn't want to use my wildcards.
I've never been involved with that side of the site but I did bring it up last week actually so I'm hoping it'll start again sometime soon, thanks for the heads up!
Yo nice, think this is your first time featuring an auras list on the channel? Definitely excited to try it out for myself, and would definitely be interested to see more gameplay footage. I think the doing the commentary afterwards is great since it's nice to get your insight on the things you would have done differently. There's a small trade-off in that the commentary can be a little spoiler-y at times if you remember what's about to happen ahead of time, but I think it's definitely worth it if you're willing to spend the extra time to record commentary separately.
Yeah I think it is actually! Awesome, I'm planning to put up a follow up gameplay video in the next few days so hold tight for that. And thanks for the feedback, I'm still debating on live or post-commentary at the moment, I personally enjoy doing it in the moment, but if it's a really important event like a qualifier or a tournament where I really want to focus then post-commentary is probably better there.
I took this deck out for a spin, won 3 matches in a row and then proceeded to have nothing but miserable matchups for the rest of my 5-6hour session. I proceeded to face nothing but control decks the rest of the night. Opponents with a never ending barrage of main deck edict effects (no main deck targeted removal to be seen 🐟 ), tons of matchups with main deck divine purge, temporary lockdown (and I could never draw any of my 4x fragment reality), I was sunfalled numerous times (yea... in historic 😐) Shuffler was giving me so many 0 and 1 landers, even after many mulligans. I took tons of screenshots. So many of my hands had 0 creatures and nothing but enchantments and vice versa. Not sure how many times, but honestly the majority of my games I had to play stuck on 2 lands. Oddly enough, I also could rarely ever draw a Kor Spiritdancer while having an enchantment to go with her.
The new post game commentary mode is slightly better, feels more insightful and calm. As for the next video (instead of more Auras gameplay) how would you feel about cooking a spicy Enigmatic Incarnation brew for explorer or historic? Yet instead of the known Yorion WURG pile, how about a more streamlined 60 card version using the new impending "titans" and/or rooms? Not sure it's competitive enough but this archetype was always pretty cool.
Nice list as always, been running a very similar 75 but busted raptor over skrelv which I was playing is probably correct. For control, which I’ve felt is the worst match, I’ve been running slickshot and 1 escape velocity. Feels really difficult to stop a sweeper atm as skies blows up your enchantments even if you have indestructible creatures.
Ahh interesting yeah I did consider Slickshot but I didn't really feel like it'd help much against spot removal so I never ended up testing it, how's it been for you? I don't mind Wrath of the Skies if I can keep my creature around with Loran's Escape since you can often set up lethal again next turn, but Divine Purge specifically has been really hard to figure out a plan for.
Slickshot felt good to hedge against an incoming divine purge and if they’re holding up mana but it felt less good plotting it and then they keep up a blue next turn and snare you anyway. Think slick shot is good against proctor control lists which often don’t have room for snare but medium against lists with snare.
Yeah that's true, I still think I prefer Giver because it enables you to chump block freely because of protection, it's non-legendary, and it doesn't cost life to activate but I could see an argument for running a split of 1 Skrelv 3 Giver if you wanted. Having the auras fall off doesn't happen that often from my experience but if more decks start sideboarding Fragment Reality or Path to Exile then it could be worth running more Skrelv instead.
I'll be back on Timeless again soon, I just wanted to try Historic brews first because I felt they had a better chance of being competitive, and there's an upcoming metagame challenge next week too.
