One of the oldest cemeteries in Miami -- and resting place for some of the most prominent African Americans in the city's history -- has been the target for a recent rash of vandals and grave robbers.
The bone trade is a real thing. A complete human skeleton of a single person can fetch thousands of dollars. A skull up to $1500 it's a tempting the love of money.
I understand grave robbing it is sad stealing from these people but why would you just destroy it if you do this how would you like it if someone dug up your family member and took the items that you put in there that was special to you and them
Here in Australia coffins are buried minimum 6 ft deep including historic graves No grave robbers here, very rarely will they vandalize the tombstone/monuments
They have earned eternal torment! The owners need to install camera or trail camera and Black Churches need to get involved and stop the nonsense of robbers or voodoo practitioners breaking into people’s family graves.
Killing innocent animals over old graves does not get more sick than that, and people who do satanic stof like that, just need to go to the chair......
Sad. It’s another case where the Black Community fails to keep something sacred and clean. Esther Rolle is buried in that Cemetery. Maybe the NAACP could raise funds to purchase the cemetery and perhaps restore it with the help of the national Parks service. If the Black community does not care then neither will anyone else. In continued neglect it will more than likely be landscaped and built over.
The dangerous thing about this is that dust & mold from the remains will get in your lungs and kill you ,even the reporter is at risk with no respirator on.
these are I'd blackies grave so what would they be able to steel seriously.. I could understand search for fake graves used to stash monies etc it was known people like bugsy big monsters alike would bury loot in cemetery etc but playing with bodies is evil
