Slapped the rear of my 40 Studie coupe,6/71 blower,1957 Chrysler 392 hemi with a 4 speed and Packard rear diff. Couldn’t figure out what diff was for first couple of years that I had car,still not sure of actual gearing,but it hauls. Can’t wait to drive it beyond around the block after 8 years of owning it. Guy I bought it from built it in ‘58,raced until 1972. He’s 95 now and still alive and kicking. Only have done a few safety upgrades ( dual master cylinders,5 point harness). Local track said I run exhibitions or brackets,but I want one full out run,no restrictions. Old gasser scares the hell out of me.

Great video. I grew up around tri five Chevys and have a 56 myself. Which it used to be a drag car/daily driver before my family got it in 1976. It was running a 396 with 3 deuces and a 4 speed with a 4.11 posi rear. Not sure what class that would have put it in? I'm in the middle of restoring it now. The 396 and 4 speed are long gone from it. I have a 350 with 3 deuces that I am going to put in it with a turbo 350 automatic and 3.55 rear gears. It was a black originally and in its race days with The Black Belair in white letters on each quarter panel. Uncovered the 396 cubic inch 375 hp on the hood while sanding it.

It was a great show, I missed winning the 20 thousand dollar split the pot though
