Drone footage of the historic flooding on the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley, Montana on June 13, 2022. Video shows a flooded mansion seemingly in the middle of the river, the Mill Creek bridge, and more.
Thank you - I live in the valley and my whole family was out of town this week other than me and the pets - I was able to send this to my parents. We have a strong community and seeing everyone come together these past few days has been incredible. And luckily there is one upside - no tourists speeding on 89 for a while haha!
I live on a tiny street. People fly up it I hate people speeding. That is why I don't speed when I travel. How rude can people be? Aren't they there to witness the other animals that actually live with nature? How do they see anything if they're flying down the highway?
Im glad you're safe🙏..and its good laugh a little thru our hurts....stay safe 🙏its so sad to see all the devastation of so many peoples years of living devastated. Blessings🙏 and love to ALL💗
My heart only goes out the the Animal's Domestic and wild. You twatwad humans think it's so cool to live so close to mother nature and you KEEP PUSHING OUT THE WILD ANIMAL'S who we're there First well now MOTHER NATURE IS TIRED OF YOU SELFISH HUMANS AND SHOWING YOU WHAT SHES MADE OF. ITS ALSO CALLED KARMA 🤣 🤣 🤣
When the water levels return to normal, you should fly your drone over the same route and do a before and after comparison. Thanks for sharing your amazing video.
I live in Norway and normally do not have events like this, but three years ago the same conditions resulted in major flooding in many rivers in the middle of Norway and sections in several rivers change course permanently. I just hope that this do not give you serious problems.
They r great bullies and oppressors of the poor, d orphans and strangers. They sent 4 kkk to brutalise, terrorise and made 9 attempts to poison and kill me secretly after Hearsts runaway 18-wheeler flew over d road to hit my car head-on.. Failing, America then changed its tactics to try to kill me secretly by d authorities as in d story of Patty Hearst, Daniel in d Bible and Jesus Christ At d Harris County Court in Houston, a black giant Gestapo constable strangled and choked me and carried me into jail with one hand. D pains were unimaginable. Eventually, judge Alex Green brought me out but ignoring d CCTV footage, instructed d constables to frame 3 false charges to lock me up again. They also returned d verdict tt it was my fault tt Hearst's runaway 18-wheelwr flew over d road to hit my car and thus, I was not entitled to claim insurance. I had to be medically retired as a prison officer and lay pastor in d Singapore Prisons Dept. God sent Dr Wayne Clark from S California to pray for me and a stream of fire flowed into me. God added d fire to d golden censer (me) and OVERTURNED it on d earth as in Rev 8. Golden censer is symbolic of faith in God thru prayers undergoing fiery trials. USA fulfilled d prophecy of Obadiah to break d eternal covenant of brotherly love made with God thru d shed blood of Jesus Christ. D covenant requires d blood of Ephraim (USA & western nations of d cross) to be shed. It's d nature of blood covenant. God d faithful one fulfills d prophecy of Psalms 18 to make me into David to turn d USA into dust.
First we suffered through drought & horrific fires & now flooding. I'm now in Missoula, but spent a lot of time in this part of the state when I was growing up. Just breaks my heart.
I hope and pray for everyone's safety and for their livestock safety. I'm in Wyoming at east gate, our rivers are flowing hard but not damage that I'm hearing about....yet.....
Damn that really puts in into perspective. Wow. I mean we've had our share of flooding over here in Washington. But that's just crazy to see it like that. I truly hope everyone is safe.
Such rugged beauty! I would live there in a heartbeat. Hopefully all were saved...the animals first & foremost. The properties look amazing, and hopefully everyone can reclaim & rebuild wo much difficulty.🙏🏻
The winters are long and the summers are short, and winds are high all year long in most of Paradise Valley. Have I convinced you to settle somewhere else?
@@sonjaorleans8850 I can't afford to be greedy, since I'm retired on a fixed income now. I once lived about 10 miles from where the video was shot. I moved somewhere else after about 20 years there. Greed has nothing to do with it, but old age does. Property values in the area have gone out of sight, and you are welcome to spend as much money as you wish for whatever you wish.
@@rjbjr We say the same in NC! Go live somewhere else, lol. The summers are long and muggy. If we are lucky, we may get a few inches of snow in the winter. If not, there's always next year. I would like to be closer to mountains tho.
Animals out first, then maybe think about getting your children and wives out. Damn news only ever shows the people getting out on boats and rafts first. How come they never show boats and raft loads of cattle and horses being rescued. I'm with you, who would possibly expect them to survive on any of that awful green foliage or that nasty mountain water flowing by in abundance? Kids stay here while I get the heard on the next boat! I'll be back by sun up if the house is still standing. 🤠
Actually this is normal , what's not normal is building on flood plains weather it's 25 years ,a 100 years or five hundred .that includes creeks too . Don't rebuild in same place , high ground .
Wow, thats sad!! I feel bad for Yellowstone NP and all the rivers along through there!! We were near the Yellowstone River in Billings so this breaks us to see our favorite state and where my brother in law lives have so much devastation!!
Always sad to see this sort of thing happen, but if people must insist on building and living on river flats then they have to expect that sometimes the flats will become a part of the river again as the river is the reason for the existence of the flats, that's why they are called river flats!
Are you thinking it would be more fertile ground or better to plant wheat and corn on the mountain side? I've seen it done in Ecuador & Peru, but that's very different ground. If you live here, you know this is once in a couple hundred year +/- thing.. A lot of wheat and corn etc in the meantime. And not bad odds in terms of frequency. I was born/raised in the valley. You roll with it like everything else and just keep walking forward.
North here in Calgary we had a lot of rain and high winds so far the rivers here are within their Banks feel really bad for those persons who are experiencing flooding and losing their homes
Praying all the livestock was evacuated to higher ground!! Those of you who live there and lost everything my thoughts go out to all of you. Hopefully you will be able to rebuild and move back to this beautiful part of our country!! 😪🙏
You did a superb job of filming this what gear were you using ? I have a couple older DJI Phantom 4 and a Vision Plus and i know this video was the result of much flying and filming did you use FPV gear ? Just curious.
Hopefully those who must rebuild will use this opportunity to set up on much higher ground. As our weather churns, such flooding might become 'normal.'
I don't know if this is a dumb question but why don't we take advantage of these floods and use the water to fill the lakes that are drying out in the south west?
This water flows north and east to the Missouri then Mississippi rivers tgen south out to gulf of Mexico not south or West to green or Colorado. Your talking about piping over the contenetal divide and past the snake. Past the salt lake. Or over tobflaming gorge.. and then you need resavioyrs to hold it long enough to pump it after you build the pipeline. That's 20 years and BILLIONS or TRILLions of dollars and might likely never flood like this in next 200 years as its never done this before in modern history
@@erismana2105 I’m curious as to what your comment suggest? Don’t make comments that try and point fingers as if “People” aren’t doing enough to get water to the west coast area that overbuilt in arid areas and are now suffering from the lack of it. Everyone knows you take chances when you build in a flood plane, many of these ranches are hundreds of years old and established before the government told you what you could build on your own land. You simply dealt with the good and the bad of what came your way. It builds character to overcome adversity. They don’t (didn’t) have food trucks come by with a prepackaged lunch or stand by a crossroads with a cardboard sign asking for handouts either. They dug in and put the damage behind them and moved forward. If we can’t build a pipeline because it could disturb some species habitat, than the same applies to making a water pipeline to water the desert.
Power remains out in many areas & the water/septic is likely compromised making for difficult days/weeks ahead. Everyone except park staff & residents who chose to stay were evacuated. Stay safe!
@@lisagerman2111 We'll still be in some stage of drought, though. Unfortunately, this sort of thing doesn't spare us the need of moisture in the future
The river now has shown a certain width. Within that area nothing should be rebuild. A waterfront property or a piece of land is nice but please not that close to the water.
' beautifully heavy cloudy pourly the rainy / rivery in the weather season... keep gooing more rainy allday - allnight... bring clean water to the hoover dam and los angeles area that help less drought
The old Indians never pitched camp in a flood plain. They always camped or built on the second or third terrace above the flood plain. Here all these folks getting flooded out just to be 100 yards closer to the river. Too bad.
Montana citizen here: this is the best possible thing that could have happened to that park, clearing out all those houses and keeping the dumbass parade of tourists out of there for a while, thank god!
That's not usually a flood zone is it? I saw someone else's remark. I heard it was very unusual. You don't have boats on farms either I expect. How was everyone able to get off of the farms? I heard there wasn't much warning because it was a flash flood due to sudden rains. I always worry about the animals. I figure people are smart enough to get off the land, but little critters can't always figure their way out of things.
We forget how those valleys were formed. Glaciation and massive flooding events. It’s just nature doing what nature does and we got caught in the middle again.
I so a local interviewed (Cook City) who said it was a LATE LATE Winter this yr there. Started in MARCH When does winter start and end there on ave normal years? Nov to Feb?
There is no average year. Climate is always changing. That's why you can't buy into "catastrophic climate change". If the climate was stable, then there wouldn't be terms like "100 year event" and "1000 year event". Extreme weather events are always happening somewhere as they always have in the past.
@@wirebrush PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE......no disrespect but we all get that .......but all parts of this country has an ave. seasonal changing time Grew up in upstate NY....now live in NORCAL But the guy who lives there said VERY specifically....."a late late winter" ....meaning him and all noticed it Im not talking or debating "climate change " BS Just WHEN does FIRST sbows usually begin In NY......it fluctuated late Oct earliest to early Jan latest Ends by Feb earlist to mid late March latest
There really isn't anything consistent with the seasons here. Montana holds several records for temperature swings in short periods. I've been snowed on twice on July 4th. I took my kids to Yellowstone in August about ten years ago and drove through a blizzard to get there. I have pics of the kids bundled up standing under icicles hanging off one of the buildings at Yellowstone falls. I've experienced 70 above and 30 below on Thanksgiving day.
Last year in west germany thousend homes are destroyed by flood. There in yellow stone lives not so much people but its really sad for everyone. Lake mead needs the water. Too much on wrong place. Thats nature.
Just to think half a million years ago this area was a land of fire and ash and half the world dealt with it... When Yellowstone goes big,it goes big...that river,wow...
