A timelapse of a historic building in Paisley being restored and given a new lease of life.
The Georgian townhouse of 5 George Place is occupied by the Paisley Trophy Centre, a long-standing business in the town, and was transformed with work completed in March 2023.
You can see in the video how the works took place, including re-slating, leadworks, stone repairs, new sash-and-case windows, rot works and replacement of rainwater goods.
The work was made possible by a building repair grant through our Townscape Heritage / Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (TH.CARS2) which aims to preserve Paisley town centre’s historic architecture.
The scheme is a £4.1million programme funded by us, National Lottery Heritage Fund and Historic Environment Scotland to help encourage owners to make investments in their properties that might not otherwise have been viable.

I've walked past that building so many times. I'm glad to see that it has been restored.

Wow! What a transformation! A real beauty! This is what the fabric of the town needs: TLC.
