@@Merriwether-w8k Misogynistic comment hiding behind bot name. Palestinian American women ARE American women. I am white and I won't vote for anyone OK with genocide that can stop it which includes Harris.
Yeah it's funny that the US sees nothing wrong with supplying arms to fuel a conflict and then simulateously try to provide "aid" to the target of the Israeli agression...it's so hilariously stupid, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills sometimes.
after weeks of ambiguity, here have some more ambiguity... at least to tie you over until election day. it's just nuttery. I know I can't possibly risk another trump admin, but the corpo dems are taking full advantage of this dilemma. It's shaking out yet again, as another bit of DNC trickery. Does it embolden them to do it again next time?
Save that same energy for Trump. Trump is worse. I am not happy with her as well, but Trump already told Netanyahu not to accept a cease fire. Trump just met with Netanyahu two weeks ago. He's not in office.
They're desperately trying to retcon the narrative starting from Oct 7th. We aren't supposed to know that the nation of Israel was given the right to exist after ww2, even though the land was taken from the ottomans under the false pretense of Arab-led self-determination. We aren't supposed to remember nakbah or the atrocity committed by mossad and the IDF, just some ambiguous remembrance of Arab hostility surrounding the 6 day war and the development of Hamas and hezbollah under Lebanese, Iranian, Egyptian and Syrian antisemitism. We're supposed to ignore the spectre of zionism ideologically adjacent beliefs and financial backing cast over the 4th great awakening, the rise of Hollywood, and the lobbying behind the scenes of the American government surrounding the rise of conservative Christian nationalistic identity among the American people. That way we can continue the disgusting cultural proclivity to cling to the comfort blanky of dehumanizing any group deemed "the other". The horrifying tendency to feed into the undying Islamophobia adopted in the post-9/11 era of America.
@@nicolaablett7790 I hope you are right, but doubt it. Doesnt look like the powers that be are willing to jerk the chain of their proxy blood-hound right now.
I agree with the guest's last statement. Why are Palestinian rights to existence and statehood always treated like an afterthought? I'm so sick and tired of hearing that Israel has a right to exist and to defend itself. The EXACT SAME RIGHTS should be accorded to the Palestinians. At the very least the default statement should be that Israelis AND Palestinians have EQUAL rights to full self determination
I would argue that the zionist state never had a right to be created in the first place. It wasn't a land without people as we were told and the crimes that occurred during its founding has brought nothing but conflict to the region. I have no issue with the Torah at all, I read both the old and the new Testaments. But the Talmud is another story, which is what the Israelis follow, it's a horror once you look into it. Absolute doctrines of demons and precepts of men. If the creation of this state had given equal footing to everyone that lived there and the Jews who needed a place of safety had assimilated within it, not taken it over with stealing, killing, destruction, displacement and lying. Then I would be fine with it. But the cruelty, the stealing, killing, destruction and oppression of others, even their less than real humans of everyone else doctrine, in their Pharisees written Talmud 500 years after Christ's life, death and resurrection, gives them permission, free reign, to do whatever they want to "gentiles" or subhumans. It's beyond sickening and frankly quite frightening once you get into it. And it gets worse, apparently it doesn't have an end and they can just add to it whatever is convienient for them.
““The UN expert (Michael Lynk ) reported that the collapse of natural drinking water resources in Gaza and the inability of Palestinians to access their own water resources has become a powerful symbol of the systematic violation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory
@@Walter-x1jThe UN expert seems to disagree with your assessment. Did these people just fall down out of the sky? Or did they arrive on boats from Europe? Where did their grandparents live?
She gave Palestinians empty words and fake feelings toward them. But she promised to continue giving support to Israel in money and weapons for what she described as " Israel Right to Defend Itself " , something she doesn't think Palestinians are not entitled to.
Dude, America didn't create these other country's problems. They can settle their differences but refuse to do so. People need to stop implying America is the bad guy. America have their own issues.
@@cnwil4594 Actually the US has been a major contributor to this problem by giving Isreal over a Trillion dollars in military aid since the 1950s. American bombs have been used to indiscriminately carpet bomb densely populated areas of Gaza. AIPAC, the most powerful PAC in the US gives large donations to politicians of both parties to ensure we always support Isreal, even when they commit war crimes such as torture and ethnic cleansing.
Thank you so much Barbara Ransby for your example! Human rights are more important than identity politics and cheap "representation". Whether individuals choose to vote for Harris or not, we should all welcome critical dialogue and sharp critique of human rights abuses
She cares more about largely unsubstantiated claims of widespread sexual violence on Oct. 7th than she cares about the video clips of gang rape by IDF soldiers in an Israeli torture facility. That really should tell everyone exactly who she is.

Just because she is a black woman she had no right to win. She is a true zio nazi and had received already over $5M of AIPAC before Bidrn was ousted. This one is a total snake. Vote Jill Stein anti-war
Hope is a nice thing. Although neither her history nor her current comments give much reason for it. I would love to be proven wrong by history in a years time.
They definitely missed an opportunity by denying a Palestinian-American voice to go onstage. Add to that the abhorrent behavior of the delegates trying to block the banners . . . I will remember this come November. Bad move, DNC. Bad move.
It isn't about not having a Palestinian voice. This is the DEMOCRATIC National Convention. Why on earth should they hear from UNCOMMITTED people? And why weren't these uncommitted people asking to speak at the RNC? And since we are asking questions, why did the loud Palestinian voices which are on social media harassing black people for voting for Kamala (look up Maya Ayooni) not help Cori Bush? She is pro Palestine and was replaced by an AIPAC friendly candidate. Were people gathering and protesting for her to win since this is about Palestine? Hmm
It really freaks me out that she was going into a tirade about Iran after her line about Palestine. There is absolutely no excuse to involve the US in that. Let Israel figure it out.
Same. I don't get why no one is talking about her declaring Iran as enemy terrorist state and will defend Israel. Add in with Benjamin Netanyahu's Congress speech to Invade Iran and Lebanon with the US military. It screams the war on terror all over again with Iran instead of Iraq.
@@JohnSmith34115 like it was pointed out 20 years ago, Iran is four times the size of Iraq. The citizens are very pro-west and Pro democracy but are ruled by a harsh religious minority. The Pentagon is awful at winning wars but great at quashing the progress of foreign democracies.

We see that in the chants of 'USA USA' at a Democratic convention. A convention engineered to be a coronation, not to be disrupted by any number of dead children. I worry that the blatant decline and weakness of the Republican party is unleashing something just as ugly in the Democratic party.
@@kx7500 Well when you consider what the Nazis did to Jewish People and other minorities (eg, Romany, Slavs, Religious Dissidents, Romany etc) in the 1930s and compare that to what the Israelis are doing to the Palestinians and other minorities (Ethiopian Jews) I do think that the comparison is appropriate. For example, are you aware that Ethiopian Jewish women are being forcibly sterilised and given contraceptive injections without their consent so their popularity will die out? That alone is an evil totally on a par with the Nazis. I stand by my description.
This was NOT a time or place to engage in criticisms of Israel. And btw, calling Israel a "Nazi" state is ignorant, antisemitic, deplorable and makes me doubt the legitimacy of you and your comment.
@@slowpainful How dare you call me anti- semetic for criticism of Israel. On this point I am with the wonderful Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro: you can either be a Zionist or a Jew, you cannot be both! He further points out that Israel is, in fact anti-Semitic because it claims to speak for worldwide Jewry, which it has no right to do. Then you have Rabbi Dovid Yisorel Weiss and Rabbi Jacob Weiss who say that Israel has no right to exist as, this time, God had not given Jews permission to return to Israel. Zionists, they say, rebelling against God. On your point that 'this was not the time to criticise Israel.' When is it the right time to criticise a genocide? Now the reasons that I characterise Israel as Nazis state. We will for the moment ignore the slaughter of 40 000 innocent men women and children, the destruction of Gaza, the denial of food, water, electricity, fuel and medicines to Palestinians. The legion of lies told by Israel. The Nakba. The 10 000 Palestinians held in Israeli concentration camps where they are tortured and the systematic rape of men women and children. The theft of land and the murder of Palestinians in the West Bank. The fact that Israel has ordered by the ICJ to stop robbing land in the West Bank and remove settlement, The destruction of Palestinian olive trees (many of which are over 600 years old). We will ignore all this. The following 2 points, I believe, shows why Israel is a Nazis State,: 1) Israel police kicking the shit out of Haredi Jews in Mea She'arim because they object to their conscription into the evil Israeli army. This is clearly anti- semetic. 2) Ethiopian Jewish women are being forcibly sterilised and injected with contraceptives so they cannot have children. This method the Israeli racist Government intend to wipe this group of Jews off the face of the Earth. This is not only anti Semitic but is a clear example of a Holocaust being perpetrated against a specific group of Jewish people. Now tell me in what way Israel, as it is presently constituted, is not a Nazi State?
@@slowpainful I gave a detailed reply to your appalling comment but RU-vid have removed it. I suggest you seek out on line lectures by Rabbi Yaakov Shapiro to learn what actually constitutes ant semetism .

Breaking a barrier. A Black woman that no one cast one primary vote for to run as President of the United States is definitely historic. I do appreciate this historian’s level headedness.
Very disappointing. To continue talking about Israel having a right to defend itself when at the same time Israel is committing war crimes and Genocide, takes my breath away.
Do you think the others side Isn't taking the same stance except HARRIS called for the war and suffering to end for the Palestinians while the other guy said NETANYAHU should just get it over quick
"Never again", which came from the Holocaust", doesn't mean what people seem to think. It means " never again" to the Jews only. It does not mean anyone else( like the affected Palestinians) at all.
Did you even listen to the whole speech? I am forever at a loss of at what goes into the minds of others on the left. Harris knows what Israel is doing is wrong and is also a VP whose president is working on a peace agreement and you'd have her blow that out of the water before she has a chance to do what she would do. (You might as well be working with Trump.) Sometimes I think far too many on the left don't know what they don't know and can't possibly know about international affairs and have as black and white style of thinking as MAGA does. Might as well be MAGA in people's inability to compromise or admit they don't know what most of us don't know... the behind the scene considerations and efforts.
I know the RNC is probably way closer to Idiocracy, but I couldn't help imagine Camacho's speech during Kamala's speech on Palestine. She said what amounts to absolutely nothing, and the crowd went wild for it. How long until you have US presidents and nominees going on stage and saying "FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY, FUCK YEAH" to massive applause?
Am I the only one who saw a guy holding a "Joe" sign who was also holding a large green sign that said "Jill"? Maybe there is hope for this country. For this country to survive we need several third parties for which we can vote for legitimately just like the rest of the civilized world.
And thus you remain inside the playbook of the ruling elite. Interrogate why the RNC is worse for you, and you will find they are most reviled by the dominant narrative for the fact that of being more heterodox, and that they are now the party of the working class. If racism in language is an unforgivable sin for you, but racism in policy, dressed in kind words, is less evil, then you epitomize the ideological coup performed by the lords of the 21st century.

The only way she could make this historic would be if she actually changes US stance on Izrael. Otherwise, she's just more of the establishment in different color.
US are the ones that vetoed last 4 proposals for ceasefre not others. She is inferring others are not agreeing to a ceasefire. Plus, you had Hamas negotiator assasinated
At some point Kamala Harris has to talk about what she is going to do. Like a serious person, this was Trump bashing, and slogans. More like a high school pep-rally.
Um, she said specifically she will restore reproductive rights - American women come before the problems of the middle east - sorry, but its our country and our bodies - we are the priority

Who would be different? We live in the actual world and do not have the luxury you people seem to have to dissect everything as if it were hypothetical. The choices are what they are. I personally can not stand Israel as they have never treated Palestine well
As it always does. The American people are only ever allowed to pick between appropriate pre-selected candidates. Would Biden have elevated her like this, and would the party have accepted her so willingly, if they didn't already know she would have the 'correct' positions?
@@pamkirschner3099 The choices are what you are given, just like they always have been. On Israel she would be perhaps 5% better than Biden. Maybe 7% better than Trump. Thanks so much for this conversation. Representation is NOT enough especially as Prof. Barbara Ransby has said the right has “multicultural representation” as well. As seductive as a Black woman Presidency is for me, coming from Post-Colonial Belize, where I fear we may never see something like this, I need to be level-headed. As Juan Gonzalez said, yes this was giving Spectacle and as Amy Goodman says the covering of protest signs with Democratic support signs is not okay.
The current administration is asking for a cease fire. However, the DNC is also a time to celebrate. I am old enough to remember the 9/11 attacks here and the twenty years war then President Bush put us in. No one wants to see more wars. For four days the democrats wanted to celebrate having a candidate that is surging forward does not mean that America is taking her eye off the suffering in both the Middle East and Ukraine. Iran is also an agitator. Things are not so easy. I agree, it was a missed opportunity to have someone speak that represents the Palestine people.
Thank you. I agree with your stance and the need for a bigger picture here. This is exactly what Michelle Obama spoke about when she mentioned the "Goldilocks" syndrome: If everything's not exactly right, then throw out the good with the could- be-better. If the Democrats lose this election because they refuse to unite behind a history-making candidate, and one who was canny enough to appease Zionists while also acknowledging the suffering in Gaza, you will deserve the theocracy you end up with.
Kamala does not get it when it comes to Israel. You cannot in one breath talk about human rights and in another breath talk about the rights of the state of Israel. The state of Istrael is not a country dedicated to human rights. Kamala also makes Iran and Iran-backed forces the enemy. She will get nowhere in her possible administration seeing any country with such a narrow vision. Iran like Israel does not protect human rights. For her to Champion one and villify the other when both are similar in different ways, is not dealing even-handedly with each. She has already stated in her speech she will not be impartial, which would be a continuation of the failed policies of the preceding administrations. Iran did not become Israel's neighbor. Israel became Iran's. Israel decided it wanted the land of historic Palestine and ever since has been a disruptive, aggressive, agitating, and un-neighborly neighbor to many in the region.
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. Harris has "done" nothing to earn your vote, yet your willing to give it to her, in hopes she WILL do something? You know Trump WILL do something, end this war. Israel will come out of Gaza because Trump will give them something. Then he will offer to help rebuild Gaza, but you can bet your last dollar it will be with American occupation and America will oversee the rebirth of Gaza.

The Dems finally took on the Republican playbook. Its unified no matter what. In the past you could have dissent but now the parties use any ideas outside the centrist capitalist middle, against one another.
