Please enjoy the spectacular music and charming Victorian homes of Ocean Grove, NJ. Ocean Grove is an unincorporated community located within Neptune Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey and located on the Atlantic Ocean's Jersey Shore. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Ocean Grove is noted for its abundant examples of Victorian architecture and the Great Auditorium, acclaimed as the state’s most wondrous wooden structure. Ocean Grove was founded in 1869 as an outgrowth of the camp meeting movement in the United States, when a group of Methodist clergymen formed the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association to develop and operate a summer camp meeting site on the New Jersey seashore. The community's land is still owned by the camp meeting association and leased to individual homeowners and businesses. Ocean Grove remains the longest-active camp meeting site in the United States.
Scott, look at all the lives you have blessed! The Great Commission. To Love God and Love People. May our Lord continue to bless and keep you and bless your business.
My mother played the three keyboard pipe organ for the church, operated the town switchboard, and played on the girl’s basketball team in the 1920s-30s. She did all this even before graduating from high school. She raised 7 of us, none having musical talent nor athletic ability. She made sure we mastered country cooking. Thanks for the musical treat.
So wonderful to see so many people praising the Lord together ❤️ Seeing the beautiful architecture and all of the American flags was nice too. 🇺🇸 Thanks for sharing.
THANK YOU for taking us along to such a beautiful place of worship 🙏 My husband and I appreciate you so much!! We learn so much from you in regards to much more than just reselling. Please continue taking us with you...we love it!!! God bless you and enjoy the rest of your vacation. 😁
Thank you Scott for taking me to this awesome place. You have a nice singing voice! This was a wonderful beginning to my day it was totally awesome to listen to and to see all the architecture! Have a wonderful week!
Oh my goodness! Did you have to make me cry? The gift of beautiful singing voices (and dedicated hours of practice) are present here. We can all sing - not like that!! - but we can all sing. Lift your voices in whatever style of music you enjoy. The montage of the auditorium, beach and Victorian homes were so enjoyable. Thank you, Scott.
What a beautiful victorian Building. The choir was great. But my favorite is the amazing Pipe Organ. What an amazing sound, absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. Please Stay Safe, Happy And Healthy. Have A Wonderful Day
My heart was full listening to the choir and organ. I can only imagine the elation you must have felt being there and hearing and experiencing it in person!
Thanks, Scott, for sharing this. It was perfect to watch while I had my lunch. The music was wonderful and I bet it's thrilling to be there in person. The Heavens are Telling is one of my favs too. Loved seeing the "cottages" and tents in the surrounding area.
Thanks so much for bringing us back to the Great Auditorium! We used to go to concerts there. We heard Peter Noone, Neil Sedaka, The Beach Boys and a few others. Loved walking throughout the quaint little town and seeing the decorated tents! We were fortunate to stay at one of the beautiful painted ladies!
Ah, the Victorians...those are my _people!_ 😬 Thank you for sharing the festivities, God bless those hugely talented singers. 🙏🏻 I have always wanted to see some Painted Ladies, so thank you, especially, for that footage! ❤️
Scott, beautifully done. Ocean Grove is truly a magical place. I live in Monmouth County and we go to Ocean Grove occasionally to walk around tent city, they are adorable and all so different. It has a charming Main Street, very quaint. I remember as a child on Sunday's they would chain the road going in and out of town. No cars were allowed on Sunday to operate in town.I believe that changed in the 60's. It is also a dry town and that has not changed.
Thank you so much for sharing the concert, the beautiful architecture, and also the sweet Spirit of this meeting with us. (Thanks for my refund for the blue nut dish shards! I was devastated even before I opened the package because I could hear it before I saw it. 😥😪
"He lives" how can you help but sing along. At first I didn't hear your voice and thought what control you must have not to sing along, and then......there it was, your voice snuck in😊. So nice.
I was doing genealogical research and read about the camp meetings the Methodists used to have here in the Northern Neck. . They were actual camps with cabins, they’d stay a week and have revival. There was a joke too about all the babies born 9 months after camp meeting. 😊. Enjoyed this very much thanks!
The auditorium is spectacular Omgoodness! Thank you for sharing the music, both my folks were in church choirs their whole lives so the songs brought back some wonderful memories. Unfortunately I didn’t get the musical gene but am in awe of anyone who does. You have a beautiful voice Scott 👍🏻
Happy Birthday, Scott! Thank you so much for sharing this trip and glorious concert. I spent many years in the United Methodist Church and remember many of these hymns.
Thank you for this video. So nice to hear the choir. Lutherans love to sing too. The Methodist Camps are well-known in the south too. Beautiful music, I love it.
Fabulous houses, looked up the organ maker, with a name like Robert Hope Jones thought he may have been Welsh,he was born in Hooton near Liverpool the home of the Beatles, very interesting.Learn't yesterday that the Welsh settled in Pennsylvania and the language is spoken there still.
Scott...What a sincere treat...some songs I remember singing in Church when I was a kid...I particularly like Fanny Crosby's song... "This is my story"...to think she was blind when she wrote it ..what a testimony and blessing ...I don't know about you but I could Visualize the choir in 1890's and 1900's clothing ..What a real treat ... sincerely enjoyed!!!!
Can’t believe it’s been a year since we first saw this video - you did such a great job sharing the music and history of the town and the organ too! We watched it again just now in preparation for July 9th - (I’m a tad excited). We booked a 3 day stay. I hope we get to see you there but if not, thank you for inspiring a fun road trip and experience.
I attended Methodist camps and camp meetings all my life....how precious were those times forever in my memory. Holiness unto the Lord was a sign in ours too. Thank you Scot! Oh....the only thing missing was the funeral fans.
What a wonderful video! Belated birthday greetings, Scott. If I had known, I would have baked a cake. I would love to attend this camp meeting sometime, would they let an old Southern Baptist sneak in? We love to sing too.
As a pastor’s kid who loves organ and choir music way more than she ever thought she would, 😁I somehow never knew of this beautiful place and event. I have goose bumps! My calendar is marked and I’m excited for next year! Beautifully filmed and just what we all need a bit more of. Thank you!
I'm so excited! I have an idea! Let's plan a "meet up" and ALL are welcomed! Make sure you book a room way in advance. You can find out next years dates by going to the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association website. It would be fun to meet and all sit together. That is....IF I'm not singing with the choir!
Happily! Will update soon on where we may be staying and see what you think, but I’m not too picky - just being there to hear it all in person is the exciting part.
Thank you for letting the video go on and on. The longer I listened t-he more calmer I got My favorite song was Down by the River. It almost felt like we were in an African American Church which is on my bucket list. I noticed there were many conductors. I love to watch the conductors. Other than the Mormon Tabernacle Choirs, I don't think I have seen a Methodist choir quite that large. So easy to feel His presence. :)
you should come to the 2 ocean grove flea markets they do. I sell at both of them right on the lawn in front of the auditorium. A good show bringing lots of dealers and buyers
THANK YOU, DEAR FRIEND!!! I wish I was at this awesome place, amidst all the marvels! (P.S. Is anyone else having trouble sharing this to the platform Facebook? It will not load, and I'm wondering if it's my computer, a glitch, or a glitch on purpose, as it's religious content.)
I feel like Noah’s Ark was the inspiration for the interior of this building. The ceiling looks like the ribs of a ship; and, of course, the windows have the traditional Ark look.
