Historic Owego Treadway Inn Demolition Almost Finished - Whats Next? 

There was quite a night life there back in the day - 'Rockin' River Rendevouz'. They had great bands play in the lounge area, and they opened up the back patio and served out there as well. You could wander in and out from the lounge to the outdoor covered patio. It was the place to be on Friday nights! Dancing, partying, great music. Owego Treadway was also known for the great Sunday brunches far before others (in Broome County) began to do that. No one minded driving to Owego from the Triple Cities because everyone was there! Great bartenders too!!

Here's what I really really really miss from that area.....Barnyard BBQ. Just down the road a bit toward downtown Owego. Fabulous food, great prices, huge portions. They even came back after the flood. But sadly the owner told me it seemed everyone forgot about the place after he renovated and re-opened. Really miss my trek from Corning to Harbor Freight in Vestal, and Barnyard BBQ on the way back.

I grew up in Owego lots changed up there over the years now hear a Taco Bell coming to Owego

Owego used to be fun! Empire Lake, Dirt bike races, not a long drive from Endwell.

The helicopters are built by Sikorsky in Connecticut. Lockheed Martin in Owego installs a bunch of electronics into them.

Never sell your property to a group in Buffalo. If you know what I mean.

What's bad about this is that right across the street is a Grand Union grocery store. Aldi will certainly put them out of business. Then we'll have one more empty building. Aldi is going to put a TON of money into this demolition and construction. I think that they would have been better off to simply buy out the Grand Union store and convert it to one of their own stores.
