You will be viewing some of the 8MM movies shot by the late LeRoy N. Frederick, formerly of Claremont Jct., NH. These fabulous movies cover mainline railroads like Boston & Mane, Central Vermont, New York Central, Delaware & Hudson, Canadian Pacific, Canadian National, Amtrak and a cameo appearance of Rutland. Shortlines include Claremont & Concord, Springfield Terminal (under wire!), Fonda Johnstown & Gloversville. There is some footage of Canadian Interurbans too. Subject matter includes all sorts of long gone B&M lines featuring both freight and passenger operations.
While you're at it, check out all the stuff available from the NMRO Products page: www.nmro.org/pr...

This oldie is rough to watch at times due to darkness and blur from aging but there plenty of gems of Northeast Railroading if you're patient.

Thank you for preserving this footage, especially that of Keene, NH and the Cheshire Branch, the region I grew up in. I was not yet born at the time some of this footage was taken, but, recall much the remnants when I was first able to drive out there and investigate and see what is left. I remember the London Road bridge spanning Gilboa (Giloa) Cut pictured, one of the two wood bridges utilizing covered trusses (like a covered bridge with no roof, just low, covered sides) , the other span carried Hurricane Road in West Keene. The others were timber beam bridges, usually three span, supported on timber bents. Sadly, all of these cuts have been filled in after the bridges were removed, before Rail-to-Trails became the norm. Again, thank you much for something I never had the chance to enjoy.

Thanks for showing these, I love seeing older footage of the B&M, MEC, CP etc. I took many photos from 1976 and on but I wish I took video like this man and like my old friend that passed Richard "Moose"Quellette . You move on in life and I've always remand a Railfan but I haven't seen Moose in over 15yrs and saw many of his videos on "nhrrman" sight which was surprise and found he passed on. . I went on over a dozen trips with him around Salem,NBPT and Portsmouth switcher (my specialties) and CV,GM,CP,NHNC,MEC. I wish I stayed in touch and now it's to late ! sorry I drifted !! Thanks again Ronnie F.

Would it be possible to get permission to use the Springfield Terminal portion of this film for a project I am working on? I do not monetize so I will not be doing it for profit. Credit will be given. Thanks.

This really is great stuff that captures the last hurrah for New England and eastern New York railroading. I remember seeing the old B&M Buddliners and GP9s in full swing while growing up, and I don't mean as they were in the end when they were owned by the MBTA and Guiford, respectively. Sadly so much has been erased from the rail scene since this footage has been shot such as much of that track age in New Hampshire.

Some of the subtitles are blocked out when watched full-screen - 12:21, for instance.
