The reason for the partition was that the British colonial government was struggling to administrate the huge region of Bengal province and wanted to make it smaller and divide the Hindu and Muslim communities . It was done by lord Curzon.

1905-Lord Curzon did partition of Bengal in the name of administrative convenience but the hidden motive was to suppress the growing political agitation among people against Britishers and to arrest the concept of Nationalism. Lord Cornwallis came from American War of Independence and make two demands to came India.

I have a confusion regarding political and commercial functions. In political function boc was formed ok but it's function is to supervise revenue,civil, and militarily affairs. And cod was for commercial function and it was for important political matters as it is given in notes. But you made us understand court of director to control over trade and commerce related and boc for political matters.Can someone explain

One correction sir , in 1781 Act it says that the appeals could be taken directly to governor general and not to supreme court . It doesn't say that it has to be taken to Governor General only .😊

Hello sir thank you for teaching us.. but there’s a minor correction in the charter act 1853. The six legislative councillors most probably doesn’t included Indians. Because during that period the colonial administration was primarily managed by British officials and the inclusion in legislative roles didn’t begin until the Indian councils act 1861.
