Historical Romance Deep Dive: Julia Quinn 

I read that Miranda Cheever book so many times and I must say, he said nothing about her getting with him when she’s older. He is her best friend’s older brother and at his sister’s birthday party there was another girl who made fun of Miranda for her looks and and Miranda was upset so I think it was the friend’s mom who arranged for Nigel to escort her back home and they had a nice chat on the way back home and she mentioned what the mean girl had said and he basically consoled her wounded heart by saying that when she grows up she will grow into herself and that then she’ll think back to him saying that to her when she was young and something smile about it. His encouraging words and how gentlemanly and handsome he was is what made her develop a crush on him from then on though later in the book she admits it was just a childhood crush and what happens between them once she’s already older is what makes her truly develop actual love for him. I don’t blame her though, the way they presented him at the beginning of the book, he really seemed like a true Prince Charming that could make anyone fall for him by just existing.

I LOVE that you did this video! She is my all-time favorite historical romance author! I was trying to avoid buying all her books because I lack room on my shelves, but you've made it clear to me that it shouldn't be an obstacle. Here I come eBay!

The Bridgerton series on Netflix was so good, I went and bought all the books in the series. But, because of the popularity of the series, most of the books are on backorder. In fact, I believe most of her series are on backorder. It seems like Julia Quinn may be seeing a surge in popularity from people, including myself, who have never read romances before.

I haven’t read any Julia Quinn, I have a couple of her books, but I just haven’t picked them up yet. I need too! I’m slacking lol I love Lisa Kleypas! I know this is an older video, but huge thanks for bringing 'The Secret Diaries' book to my attention. Helped pull me out of a funk and finally some good historical romance. Will be reading more of this author for sure.

Great review! Newbie to Julia Quinn and the Bridgeton series. I brought book 1& 2. I love historical romance! I read all Beatrice Smalls, Virginia Henley, Joanna Lindsey, Jude Deveraux just to name a few of my fav.

Totally agree with reading in chronological order. If the books were all bound into one, I wouldn't go flipping around to read the middle part first because I liked the sound of xyz. I want to start at the beginning and go to the end.

Julie Garwood, (my favorite) Judith McNaught, Teresa Medieros, Gaelyn Foley, Monica McCarty, Hannah Howell, Lindsey Sands to name a few would be nice. Speaking of Garwood, have you read "The Secret" or book two in the. Three book series, "Ransom" That has to be my all time favorite highland historical romance. (Besides O...lol) Do you read paranormal romance? Do you ever go back years later and do a reread and wonder what you saw in a book, once a favorite,,,no longer. Or see if it still stands the test of time to see if you still love it. You mentioned rereading does this pass the reread test?

Sigh... just had to come back to this video after having finished the Bridgerton series. So beautiful and particularly fun for me as I come from a larger family myself. Weird pattern I noticed was I liked all the even numbered ones the best though loved all of them. Favorite was 'The Viscount Who Loved Me,' but just barely. I loved 'Romancing Mr. Bridgerton' a lot too. So glad to have been introduced to this author, I have nearly all her books now, and plan on reading all of them this year.

I am never read a Quinn book. My daughter told there bored books. I do not think so . But if my sister says that that’s books good well good book I will follow the series.
