Dear devotees: Today we were delayed in our production so tomorrow [ Wednesday, May 18th ] we'll start our new lecture series entitled, "Historical Vrindavan - Part 1." In this first class we discuss the development of Vrindavan from a rural community to a bustling town of over 5,000 temples. It was mainly royal families who contributed to the beautiful temples, parks and gardens that still decorate Vrindavan today. We'll also hear one unusual case of a queen who came to Vrindavan from Kashmir and gave up her royalty to become a humble renounced Vaisnavi. Hare Krsna!

Hare Krishna! Dear Srila Gurudev, please, accept my most humble obeisances in the dust of Your lotus feet! All Glories to Srila Prabhupada! Thank You so much for this very informative class with many details about the stories of many Vrindavan buildings, each of which was a place of worship of the Lord. It was amazing to find out how red sandstone buildings (which could only be used by members of royal families) appeared in Vrindavan in such numbers that Sri Vrindavan became known as the "City of love", because the red color symbolizes love. And, of course, it was touching to tears to hear the story of the princess from Kashmir, who was touched by the dana-lila of Sri Krishna so much, that she became purified thanks to hearing and became a sadhvi, sweeping parikrama-marg Govardhana! It was also very interesting to find out that, according to vaishnava tradition, a sadhu is placed in samadhi along with the instrument that became his friend in his bhajan, in his service to Lord! This prompts a lot of thinking about a lot of things.....
