i did not know thundercats roar existed or if i did, i erased it from memory because as a gen z kid who grew up watching 1980s thundercats dvds, seeing that thundercats roar screenshot scarred my soul, impronted upon my future nightmares and shattered my hope of a cartoon reboot.
Still sucks that 2011 Thundercats ended due to the toy situation and I still remember being excited hearing about Thundercats news thinking we we're finally getting season 2 to then have Thundercats Roar ;-;
It a pity that Thundercats 2011 was cancelled because there were soooooo much cool things happening in season 2 such as a crossover between silverhawk and Tigershark, introducing Hachiman, Bengali, Mandora, Safari Joe, and Lunataks, and new origin story on Cheetera, the thunderkittens, and Slithe.
just snagged the complete collection from Walmart on DVD , my daughter is now hooked I still haven't told her that third earth is actually earth in our solar system can't wait to have that discussion with her still one of my favorite shows , one question when mumm raa is cha ting his spells is he speaking real ancient Egyptian ?
Damn.. I'm 30 and I never knew Jaga accidentally destroyed Thundera... No wonder he was so quick to volunteer to pilot the ship - kinda a sacrificial redemption right there..
same. im 33 and my mind is blown ,also i agree with you about jaga! itsa definate "oh sh*t how do i fix this ahhhhh yes.... suicide! then you lot can deal with it ....moment lol
Q: Who is the only human being in the Thundercats main cast?... A: Mumm-Ra Third Earth is in fact the same planet as Earth, just it's in its third age... Mumm-Ra is an ancient Egyptian sorcerer who was granted immortality.
Yes, that was mentioned also (rumored) back then had* the show carried on I believe in season 5 we were going to see crossovers with tiger sharks and silverhawks to a degree proving that each show was canonical to each other but the 2011 reboot canonized it anyway but yeah long before it was supposed to be canonical
@@3rdARKnight What do you mean it “canonised it away”? It’s it’s own separate continuity. It wasn’t actively trying to erase the continuity of the original series. If it was, I’d like some proof please (though I’m probably not gonna get any from you so… ah well).
At least my niece has the full collection of the Thundercat series! Just wanted to know some more information about the Thundercat kittens whilykit and Wileykat, The questions I have about this series 1. Is whilykit and whilykit related to Lion’o or are they just friends and they grow up together we need to know more about this specially based off the 1980s version 2. What happened to Wylie kits and Wiley kat Parents Those are the two questions that we as fans of this 1980s show the ThunderCats we need to know !
Great video very enjoyable and entertaining! Could you please make the history of *COPS* 80's cartoon and toys *MASK* or *Pirates of Dark Waters* in the future please, enjoyed cheers!👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Not bad overall, some decent research. It's amazing how YOU can do it, but so many others can't. Points of correction though; The original Sword of Omens can be used by anyone that's good; not just the Lord of the ThunderCats. Also, the malfunctioning capsule isn't ever mentioned in the series, and Lion-O used the iconic call in the very first episode. You're also missing some pretty specific plot-points for the original show. Mumm-Ra also didn't reform Thundera; Jagar did using the Gyroscope. If you ever want to go over this sometime, feel free to hit me up.
It was through Mumm ra' s interference in the past that allowed Thundera to be reformed after that Jagar maintained Thundera but if he hadn't been looking to get the Sword of Plundar Thundera would have remained destroyed.
How else do you explain his aging other than a malfunctioning capsule? The others aging wasn't even noticeable but he aged by probably 8 to 10 years. It doesn't have to be stated it can be assumed by this evidence that this is what happened.
@@cartoonsentinel4256 No explanation was given in the show. And no evidence was in it for that either. I did a whole video cataloging the info on my channel. :)
I wondered about that too and I think they explain his origin story in the comics. Something about how he was once some kind of priest to the pharaoh of ancient Egypt and he made some kind of deal with the Ancient Spirits of evil and that's how he became the Mumm-ra we all know today. Sorry for my lack of details, I haven't read the comics yet but I did catch a few glimpses on RU-vid
Real shame that the4C studio that did the more recent Thundercat reboot didn’t get a second season but I heard what they were going to do with it because the script got released online and from what I heard of it I loved it I wish I got a second season. Hopefully in a few years we can get another reboot and I would love to see the 80s classic series get put on Blu-ray.And I also have the wild storms comic run.
I think its strange to call it an american cartoon if it was animated in japan. The original or 2011. Kinda seems like cultural appropriation or something. Especially considering that i can't tell if Thundercats was even ever released in Japan. And that animators are often overworked and underpaid. Its kind of just outsourcing the crap work by that point. Avatar was animated in Korea but people call it "american anime". Anime is is a japanese colloquialism. idk, it just seems super ignorant to me. Ignorant of the craft, the craftmanship, and of cultures of the craftsmen.
I enjoyed this video. Two characters that weren't action figures unfortunately are Snow Meow and Termigar The Tuska. Termigar's soldiers the Tuska Warriors had figures thou and so did Snow Meow's master Snow Man of Hook Mountain.
It wasn’t OK with the name rathskeller ! The mutants was the main character until the last episodes of the first season The villains characters names Grune the destroyer Monkein Jackalman Vultureman Slithe Captain shiner Safari Joe Ratar-O Mumm-Ra And Luna in 2 season I don’t know who what person you’re trying laying here trying to pronounce with that person was never part of ThunderCats do you research next time before you ever do or origin story
Panthro's True Jellicle is Mr. Mistoffelees, When On Ship Jaga's True Jellicle is Old Deuteronomy, Ghost Jaga's True Jellicle is The Everlasting Cat, Tygra's True Jellicle is Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat, Wily-Kat's True Jellicle is Mungojerrie, Wily-Kit's True Jellicle is Rumpelteazer, Cheetara's True Jellicle is Demeter, Lion-O's True Jellicle is Me, Snarf's True Jellicle is Bombalurina, And Grune's True Jellicle is Macavity.
The only thing that should be done with Thundercats in the near future is a season 2 for the amazing 2011 reboot! I don’t want to see Thundercats in live action, it just wouldn’t translate well, a CGI movie could be cool if done like the 2011 reboot, but that series was ahead of it’s time and deserves a few more seasons.
Hi great video thanks for putting it together. Just one comment I don't think Lion-O's time capsule malfunctioned. "Some aging will take place" -Jaga . Let me know though if I'm wrong.
Some aging would occur but considering the others aged very little and he age 8 to 10 years I'd say there was a malfunction. I think it even states it as such in the series.
@@cartoonsentinel4256 Hi. They all aged though to a degree. The difference is in appearance as most of them were at full height. Wiley Kat and Kit though were at full size. I'm re-watching all of them. I can let you know if it's stated in any of them. For the record Toy Galaxy agrees with you as they also state there was a malfunction.
You got a little bit of that origin story go back and watch the video you on this platform trying to educate people about the Thundercat ! Not trying to be mean but I’m telling you you’ve got a little bit of the story wrong go back ! Mumm-ra did kidnap pumyra, Bengali and Lynx-O ! But before they was kidnapped They were staying on this island with a small group of burnables to save them from their home planet exploding from the last minute they made it to third earth but they had shelter you got your information wrong I’m just trying to correct you go back into your research it and come back into this video again
The original Thundercats series is the best by far, even though the 2011 reboot is a distant second. That calarts version is just awful. I think it was produced and created by people who hated the OG series.
I look at the calarts version as a loving homage/parody, similar to the Hokuto no Ken parody series. Just because they make fun of the original (which is campy) doesn't mean they aren't fans.
Lion-o s father Calaudis was Lord When he went blind in battle, he gave Lordship to Jaga under the agreement that Jaga would train Lion-O Never mentioned in rhe show, but this was filled in, in the '03 wildstorm comic.
I loved the new series & was very disappointed at it only being 1 season... of course it's always about money! I didn't realize there was a earlier series until recently but couldn't/can't bring myself to watch it because the characters are... well not well drawn by comparison to the new single season ones
@@xoomoon Then maybe you shouldn’t mock or insult people for liking something you don’t. People like the reboot: big whoops! You have a problem with that?
