Thanks so much for watching! It was a fun video to make and to dig up slightly lesser known history of the city. We actually learned some new things while researching it! Plan to do one more on Staunton at some point this year. Enjoy your visit when you finally make it this way!
Staunton is NOT in The Shenandoah Valley. It is in The Great Valley of Virginia. The Shenandoah Valley is everything west of The Massanutten Mountain. This phenomenon is because of the internet. Places claim to be in The Shenandoah Valley to make money off of tourists who don't know.
Awesome New way to see Staunton! I've lived here all my life,am an avid history buff, but have never known of nor seen The Sears House! Thanks for the fantastic views and lesson!By the way- The Depot is supposedly haunted! Bad train wreck as train approached the platform killing 1 person,a young lady. Shes just 1 ghost reported to haunt the Depot!
Sears House was the ghost story house for us 70's and 80's kids. That's where the hippies like my mom and her friends went to smoke weed. Well, there and Hippy Hill in the park.
