What are you talking about? Egypt is not considered THE oldest civilization, though it is very old. Why shouldn't we consider it so, it was just occupied for a period of time. Just as Russia was under Bolshevik rule for a period of time, you know it existed before that right? Egypt is still much older than Russia, even if you count the Kievan Rus.

Wrong. You're thinking of Rome. Ottomans never reigned over all of the Mediterranean, which would require taking Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, things they never did. They also never bulldozed eastern Europe. They only ever took the Balkans. Eastern Europe included (at the time) half of the HRE, Poland, Lithuania, Russia, Teutons etc. Please learn your history before talking shit. They were right, Poland stopped the ottomans.
