Actually,the Spanish came across the Island before the Portuguese did(Note I didn't say discover)there is a tree called the baobab tree which is only indigenous to parts of Africa that was found growing in Barbados..when carbon dated,it was found to have been growing here before the Europeans even set foot on Barbados..hence,its proof that Africans Actually explored the world before the Europeans did.this is a part of history that is not taught

I read in 'Bury the Chains' by Adam Hochschild the number of Black slaves at the time that the slave trade was abolished was only a small fraction of all the slaves who had been brought to the Caribbean (approximately 1/10th) 😳🥺😲😥. I read that only Brazil had a higher die off rate of their slaves.

At 7:58 in 1644, she said out of 30,000 people, 800 were black Africans and the rest were European decent..?? What about the indigenous population? Something is definitely not adding up, my grandmother is Carrib and her mother was indigenous to the island. She told me that Europeans would frequently rape the indigenous people and conduct “bad” business. This took place in the 1930s and our indigenous family are still on the island. Barbados (along with the other Caribbean islands) is NOT a White Island, they have been lying about history! Indigenous BLACK people have existed in the americas BEFORE the Atlantic slave trade! We are not BLACK, WE ARE NATIVE ✊🏾 One!
Barbers was the first slave, country in the Caribbean, not Jamaica, we have plantation books we keep in history. And the books show us we were the first slave not Jamaica learn history for you talk

@@dannyboy5517 They did not work out as slaves and they where indentured because they could technically earn freedom after about 7 years or so. The black slavery was permanent and we where slaves in Barbados from 1627. From the very beginning of the colony. The Cromwell indentured servants didn’t show up till the 1650s.
@@dannyboy5517 again. The fact is the Cromwell sent the Irish to Barbados to in the 1650s. Black slaves where brought to Holetown on day one in the 1620s. Those are the facts.
