You should have talked about how they also removed the perk limit. That was the thing that actually solved the must have perk problem. They spent years trying to find a way to get people to use other perks. They solved it when they let everyone use ALL the perks. Such a simple solution that I bet it had been thrown around the idea table since Bo1.
They did halfway achieve it in bo3 by letting you put fast mags on guns so you don't need speed as much. It would also help if literally all the perks aside from the base 4 are dogshit aside from Staminup, PHD situationally, and Widow's Wine. And PHD was not only removed, but they taunted the shit out of us with it in Die Rise and Mob, then again in the form of the danger closest gobblegum which isn't worth using therefore making the pap'd starting pistol and the raygun = more likely to kill yourself with than the zombies. Then they just stripped the whole perk system in Bo4 and replaced it with that shitty system which everybody hated especially because we'd unironically been asking for more perk slots for ages, then they finally gave us that in Cold War only to shit the bed in Vanguard. I'm absolutely convinced that it was Jimmy Zielinski being stupid levels of stubborn that it took as long as it did.
@@dutchvanderlinde248 nah I gotta disagree with the Danger Closest take. That gobblegum is one of the most useful classic gums and it's utility it amazing. If you have an explosive weapon, Danger Closest guaranteed you live the next 4 rounds
@@JustCallMeMex What explosive weapon are you even using lol? Xm53 is poopoo, raygun is bad past round 25 ish, pap'd starting pistol does the damage of a grenade per shot giving it the same problem as the raygun since grenades stop 1 shotting before round 10, and the siege is OK I guess, but I'd literally rather have the wonder weapon of (insert map here) 100% of the time. Danger closest can be described as letting you use shitty and or suboptimal guns that normally get you killed without causing your immediate death. Xm53 will still kill you anyway just because it's bad and the last 3 have an expiration date far below even a normal gun since even normal guns can be double pap'd with dead wire or turned which is a forever one shot on an entire group when proced or a zombie that super sprints at other zombies and forever one shots respectively. Explosive weapons are literally so terrible in bo3 that a pharo double pap'd with dead wire would outperform the above mentioned guns in every way, and the only reason the pharo isn't genuinely the worst gun in all of zombies history is because the Springfield in waw Verruckt exists.
Honestly what I always saw to be the biggest problem was that the base 4 perks were always useful no matter the circumstances. Extra health, faster reloads, higher damage output, and self rez/faster team rez are always going to be beneficial. Where as the every other perk added afterwards was only useful situationally. Now that I’ve written this out quick revive is a pretty situational perk as well, at least with multiple players.
@@menacingdonutz and to add on to that, all the other perks were more quality of life choices and not straight up "take more damage deal more damage get more life's" The only time I don't use the 4 core perks is when I decided that a self revive would just prolong my death by 30 seconds and grab either mule kick or stamina up. (If I go down on early levels with self revive it's kinda pointless in my eyes. Waste of money and a perk, might as well restart, and on later rounds if I'm downed I lose all perks which in turn...usually leaves me dead 30 seconds later. Would rather by a wallgun with that 500 and make 1000 back)
I mean it is actually kinda decent in cold war especially upgraded but I would definitely still get shit to prevent me from going down at all anyways and get it as a later on kinda perk
7:32 “If you paused to read this you clearly care too much. This framerate on this is bad, but I’ve justified using this footage as an alternative to the painstaking process that is trying to get this perk with it only being a 50/50 shot.”
I think that since mule kick is all about holding more, wouldn't it make sense for it to increase your maximum reserve ammo for every weapon in your inventory. It would help make it worth the 4000 points.
If you hate tombstone, you're not using it right. After you die and respawn, you can buy 4 more perks that you didn't have before and grab the perks you left in your tombstone. You can end up with every perk on the map, which I think is very powerful.
@konzilathelibritarian71105 Yeah. I just got Cold War recently. I never played a map with who's who. I'm not a big fan of it, though, because the zombies are far more ruthless and it's very difficult to get back to my body and revive myself.
It doesn't make a difference when there are only 6 perks on Tranzit and Town, so you only get one extra because of the exploit + tombstone itself. Terrible perk in BO2
I dunno why, but I genuinely enjoy the fact that the perkacolas went from soda bottles in the previous games to soda cans in Cold War. That, and the fact that the wonderfizz machine in Cold War is built into the old speed cola machine.
You forgot to mention that Widow’s Wine also significantly increases your melee damage while also trapping the zombie you melee in webs when you perform a stab attack. Obviously this is a secondary ability, but it’s incredibly useful if you want to invest in a Bowie knife for point building or for early round point building if you use gobble gum to get it.
Yeah same Played WaW when it launched and played tons of Nacht. Thought it was fun and honestly loved the name but it got boring... *Then Verrukt came along and said "YO DRUGS!" and the game became S tier*
@@ObsidianHunter99 yeah i feel like it shouldve changed the melee system to where instead knifing, u knock zombies away with the stock of your weapon and it gives you space to escape if youre cornered
Personally, I feel like Mule Kick is a Top Tier substitute for when you run out of Quick Revives. I mean, you're already gonna lose the game if you die one more time
Best quote of the video: “We live for a good time, not a long time” And 7:32 where my willingness to review the video frame-by-frame in 25% playback speed has been called out
The fact that staminan up got a huge buff when its effects are unlocked, in CW specifically stamina gave unlimited sprint duration at perk level 5, and other awesome effects before it that made me kinda addicted to the perk about as much as Quick Revive.
Gotta love how Treyarch had two completely different solutions for "crutch perks" you have the dumpster fire that is BO4s perk system and then you have Cold War where every Perk is busted as fuck and you can buy as many of them as you please. I know which system I prefer.
Bo4 literally broke the “4 perk” problem, players would only go for jug, double, speed, stamina, now that the players have more life, and can get revived now players can actually have diverse perk systems
Vulture aid is the most op perk of all time, only rivaled by pre patch widows wine. The gas clouds on top of the ammo/points and vision just is too good.
Double Tap 1 & 2 were on Bo3 origins and you could have double the effect of double tap 2 by equipping the perk twice. With three different icons for the different versions of the perk.
Update: Mule Kick came back with Cold War's latest map Mauer der Toten. The machine will fire its guns when you buy the perk, acting as a trap it shoots nearby zombies. At tier 5, Mule Kick will give you back your 3rd weapon upon buying the perk back after losing it.
I want to say that Mule Kick and Death Perception in BOCW are crutch newbies and have great secondary abilities to help them assist the three of the four cores in BOCW I was hoping Double Tap would return with PHD Slider on the last map.
I still remember watching the Der Reise trailer in 2009 when I was like 8 years old and I got so excited since I was getting WAW and MW2 together for Christmas that year. I didn't know you actually needed WiFi and you had to buy the three other zombie maps. I didn't play Der Reise until I got the BO1 Prestige Edition with the four remastered WAW zombie maps and I was satisfied but didn't actually play the real WAW version of Der Reise until I was like 18 😭
On maps I could do so, my default perk assortment was always Jugg, Speed, PhD, and Deadshot which was only like possible on three maps but I loved them 🥺
I'm gonna be honest, I love how they did Tombstone in Cold War. You spawn with the weapons you had when you died and can use your ability (I use Aether Shroud because I constantly get surrounded) and pick yourself right back up. It's quite nice. Also the fact that there's no perk limit is a HUGE bonus.
@@cannoncorn8557 if you're an old subscriber you'll notice that time hansen doesn't often do this type of video ( analysis ) so I had to get ready for it..I got up and made some food to watch and eat and I wasn't disappointed with the quality of the video
Tombstone came back on Every Cold War map and is basically who’s who but you have your own guns and the upgrading system makes it a very decent substitute if you don’t have a self revive
I think its funny that tombstone allows you to run to where you died and get your perks back but its under a time limit and they decided to put it on the biggest map in the game and the one covered in fog
Tombstone was actually good in town and transit because you could get the 4 perks, die, and as long as you had enough money to buy the ones you didn’t have in time, you could pick up the tombstone and have all the perks
Mule Kick would be a good perk if you got the gun back when you purchase it again after you go down, maybe they could’ve balanced it by giving you no ammo or loosing PaP when you get it back, or maybe it’d be viable if you just got the gun back when you pay for it again.
I remember when I was young I never fully understood the perks so I thought that speed cola makes every thing faster in different varients like obviously reloads are the fastest but health regen would be a little faster then normal that sort of thing or jugernog making you take less damage from explosives and using heavy weapons like RPG's and LMG's would be easier like reduced spread or less of a movement impediment hell back to speed cola I thought that the icon was show casing a badaged hand
Kind of realised how all bo2 perls have been worked into other perks in cold wars upgrade system, electric cherry is the tier 5 upgrade for elemental pop, who's who and tombstone are combined together and improved so it's actually worth while to use now and vulture aid's ammo drops has been worked into the tier 5 upgrade for mule kick while the "clouds" are kinda just eather shroud now. Pretty cool
Honestly Tim genuinely has a point that I never thought about with bo4. I mean yea I do pick perks i like now, even if there are better perks I could’ve used, but I still use the same 4 perks on every single map, and 2 of them were my crutch perks from the past games anyway, quick revive and stamin-up
This is really funny I like how you fleshed out all the details of all the perks in a funny way even the bad ones I would want to buy a poster but I don’t have enough money too but maybe one day I might consider it
Shit man... I still remember when world at war first came out... I was like 10 or 11 years old...and most of my buddies were the types of games who'd usually just skip the campaigns and go straight to the multiplayer...and I always made sure to beat the campaign of whatever game I was playing before I touched multiplayer, and I still remember when I finally beat the campaign on world at war and it puts you in the match of zombies for the first time ever and it was so scary and fun and I'll never forget it... And I still remember how mind blown my friends were when I told them how you unlock a "Nazi zombies" game mode for beating the game and by that point it was spreading like a wild fire... everyone was telling and helping each other finish the campaign so we could play this brand new weird Nazi zombiee mode together..😂😭 Shit man those were some of the good old days..... rushing home from school and grabbing my Xbox controller to go to my buddies house so we could play zombies and the bad ass DLC maps they released... I get so nostalgic just thinking about all of it...
A perk I thought of is called roundup reap root beer, when ever there is more then 10 zombies In your sight you get 2x more damage and 50+ points, so if you had double tap v2 you would do 4x damage It costs 4000 points
15:00 I rely on eletric cherry when doing the challenge of completing the MOB EE with random on BO2. People still play it and randoms have gotten noticeably worse. So it's required nowadays. I buy it before Jug to have a good way to shoot, then shock before reviving
I have had a Revelation. Tombstone and Who's Who should have been switched Tranzit is a wide open map that's so large that players can be separated in different sections, making it impossible to revive someone across the map. Who's Who would've allowed players to split up and revive themselves in emergencies On Die Rise, Tombstone would have helped compensate for the fall induced deaths by letting players get their gear back.
They actually changed the park system in bo4 cause the health regen stim in the multiplayer, they couldn't figure out a way around a glitch with it, so the last few mo.ths of development they changed the entire system around
The only good thing about Tombstone was being able to get all the perks in the map. You buy 4 perks, one being tombstone, and go down. Once you get back the next round, buy the rest of the perks that you didn’t buy, then collect the tombstone
