It was always nice to see the 402 which for its age and without a major upgrade certainly was one of the hardest working units in the GP38 family. I do remember seeing the unit sitting in Glendale yard in Milwaukee en route to the E&LS with just cardboard signs in the windows. Considering the heavy tonnage and cold Winters this unit was pretty reliable all in all
What would be great to see is a ELS tamper, tamping the rails the way that they should be. But maybe it is cheaper to put cars back on the rails, than to maintain the tracks.😮
