I believe fire types were generally not very good. Their weaknesses to popular typing of water and rock really hurt them. A lot of fire types lack variety in movesets. The best fire types are usually dual types that get access to additional moves and have a type that counters one of its weaknesses. Aka heatran.

As for Smash Ultimate however, Fox might become mid or low tier. Everyone has been talking about how Fox felt ATROCIOUS in the demo. Of course it's a demo and alot of things can change in the official release, but things aren't looking too god for Smash Ultimate Fox.

What I loved about 64 is that any character can be viable(except Link). Having only 12 characters, yeah, the choice is shallow, but for its time, the fact that no character was truly bad(except Link) made it so that no matter who you wanted to play, you probably stood a chance(unless you chose Link).

Erik 1 Gamer he’s gotten some significant buffs like dash attack and inhale being able to inhale projectiles and shoot them back, but I’m hoping for framedata buffs on all specials, range/KO power on back air, better Kill throws, and Faster air speed

And this is why my two mains are: you guessed it: Pikachu and Fox. Provided I'm not a die hard Smash player (yet), but I still prefer the speedy archetype. This was quote a while before both the Pikachu and Fox videos you did, actually. :D As homage to these videos, and to my dominance against my friends as Pikachu, whenever a new one comes out, I make it my goal to learn all I can about whatever fighter you end up talking about. This has led me to a weird 3-main setup of Puff, Pika, and Fox. Lol

I main Fox since i was like 8 years old, playing the first Smash. Although i loved to play Star Fox, he became my favorite Nintendo character after Smash, cause i could beat every single friend of mine playing with him, they even tried mirroing my pick with no success. I perpetuate him as my nickname throughout all the games i've played to this day, as a proof of love and gratitute to the good memories this charracter brings from my childhood❤️

This video was absolutely wonderful! I loved every second. Quite a boost in quality i must say! Not to say you've put out anything even remotely close to mediocre, but this video was solid! Loved the break from Pokemon, and i cannot wait for more content like this! This video alone has gotten me more hype to play more than Ultimate has so far (again, no diss, I'm hype af for Simon and King K. Rool, just don't have buds to practice with anymore). The way you talked about each game was so enticing. I love the differences between each game and how it's evolved, even though I say PM is the current pinnacle unless Ultimate proves me otherwise. Wow, it is amazing to think that Fox's power was only truly questionable in 64. I actually came here after looking at the Brawl tier lists for Japan and Europe and noticing they thought more highly of Fox, Japan placing Fox right near Falco at #7. I also hadn't realized before that Seagull Joe was such a peerless "low-tier" player, considering that Wolf was just narrowly voted above Fox in NA and elsewhere he was consistently a good amount weaker.

Awesome video! I like that you talk about Fox's weaknesses in Melee, since they're too obviously dismissed. I feel like a lot of people who watch Melee but don't actually play it don't notice that Melee Fox hasn't developed an awful lot in the last 5 years, compared to other characters. Usually when people point this out, it's dismissed because lol Fox. Happens with Leffen's comments, such as him believing that Fox loses to Marth, or more recently that Jigglypuff is the best character in the game.

@@deskbotknight3730 Kirby's buffs really weren't enough to make him stand out among the huge roster, as unlike characters like Ike, Pokemon trainer, ganon and especially pikachu who received HUGE, SIGNIFICANT buffs, the ones Kirby got were much less impressive. He's essentially smash 4 Kirby (who's awful) with a new dash attack, the ability to absorb one projectile at a time, and a few minor technical changes. When looking at how much better the cast is, I'm not sure how Kirby would be any more than low tier....AGAIN. In the demo, alongside Samus and maybe bowser, he was definitely one of the worst characters there.

@@letacodilesupreme6445 I like brawl, but ONLY because my mains (Kirby and toon link) are so much more fun to use in that game compared to smash 4, and because of brawls fantastic single player campaign.

I've been a Fox main since I first started playing Smash on the 64 as a kid. Of course it took me months of playing with other characters like Kirby against my brother before finding out I was good with fox. I played a lot of 64 with my brother. I remember when I was 8 or 9 just getting on this huge loosing streak against him. Went on for weeks. Then finally I picked fox and was able to start consistently beating him again.
