I did pretty good the other night when it was 8° with wool. I have the LL Bean frontier king size wool blanket, along with the David Canterbury freeze your butt off survival blanket! I put those two together with a really nice tightly woven cotton blanket, and I was fine at 8° without a fire. Keep in mind that that LL Bean will blanket is about $600! Thank you so much for sharing this history so that we can continue with these traditions

Thanks for watching! DIY is actually more historically accurate. For one thing, the outdoor industry wasn't anywhere near as big as it is today and then when it just started getting going, the Depression happened. People were pretty much forced to make their own stuff.
