@@quentinfogger5755 True. But he was a little bland and less of interesting character on that show, and when compared to his interpretation on Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, that version of Kang was a little more complex and only wanted to conquer our timeline in order to save the destruction of his timeline and his beloved wife Ravanna due to the actions of Captain America, and as such he was nothing more than a desperate ruler attempting to do anything to save the life he's made and people he loves (quite similar to the origin of Mr Freeze). So the Avengers Assemble interpretation of Kang was a little generic and lacked memorable complexity to his character unlike AEMH's interpretation.
@@RA-xb5sl yupp same here just had to watch it right when it came out with my siblings, marvel rlly just had me feeling all the emotions watching the season finale 😭
Think about it, all the other villains, no matter what threats they pose, are just pawns in a storyline that he's already written. Lmao. He's literally already won, any losses he incurs along the way, are just details in a story that ends with him being the one who remains at the citadel at the end of time. There is NO beating him. Lol.
@@dadaseyi Yea this current lineup of avengers wouldn’t even come close to beating him they need the xmen and fantastic 4 to boost them up and possibly a prime scarlet switch cus she’s a nexus being which could possibly be the key of beating him
@@dadaseyi that’s what’s so scary! To add to this, the multiverse right now is like one big loop, the wiser version of Kang, was the strongest of all of them, he was the Conqueror, he conquered all of the other Kang’s and destroyed the multiversal war! He stopped all of it! And now we are going to see prime Kang the Conqueror, before he became settled down, and we are going to see all of his violent variants too, we are going to rewatch the rise of Kang the Conqueror, the origins of the man we just saw get killed! What a phenomenal way to start a character, watch him get killed, know he’s flesh and blood, but they still can’t stop him
@@swiftlessytvlogs5637 he's gonna be everywhere on phase 4. We didn't see Thanos much....I think everywhere we look in phase 4, there'll be a variant of Kang.
@@dadaseyi I think we will see weaker (still insanely strong) versions of Kang, but Kang the Conqueror, the strongest of them all is gonna be a Thanos type character where he will just obliterate anyone standing in his way
Kane is an alternate dimension time traveler using Doctor Doom's time machine to establish empires in different timelines. He took over Egypt and called himself Rama Tut but was stopped by the F4. His appearances depend on which Kang from which timeline and which scheme he is currently working. He can be from the past, present, or future which gives writers a good way out if a story gets silly because no matter who is killed or what is destroyed...time travel fixes all plot holes.
@@Namchha1 I don't think they are going to do kang for doctor strange multiverse of madness because that's a scary maybe it will be nightmare or mephisto Kang will be in season 2 loki and Antman and the wasp and maybe some other movie they didn't said anything about that
Even the pure and logical Kang from Loki just seemed unsettling for some reason. But knowing that there’s going to be dozens of crazy variants of him coming into the MCU just makes it even more disturbing and unsettling. This was the best way to introduce the new villain for the upcoming movies. Hearing him say “see you soon” as he died gave me goosebumps. Here comes phase 4
Thanks to my dad I first learned about Kang in the secret wars, then we watched Avengers: Earths mightiest heroes together. Now that Loki is done he’s finding his old comic books so I can read upon him some more. I think he’s in my top 3 villains
@@BrandonWestfall Kang in the comic is a much bigger avengers threat than Thanos , he's the only villain that is a time travel, supernatural and cosmic threat
Idk why the comments are so set on this, but the Kang that appeared in Loki was NOT the prime conqueror Kang. The version that appeared in the show is Immortus, which was hinted at when Immortus said he had "lived a million lifetimes", it's also hinted at in this name "he who remains"
@@sthembisomakelefane8727 he who remains is a totally different character in the comics separate from Kang, I think they just fused immortus and he who remains.
Good insight. I think it’s more so that they are one in the same as they are just variants. So in a way, it’s not that bad for the general public to confuse them.
Coming back to this after watching the latest episode of Loki and I gotta say how much I appreciate what you guys do. I've historically been more into DC comics than Marvel comics. I've got mad respect for the Marvel universe(s) but there's not enough hours in the day to go through all the history. Now I can watch your vids, watch a Marvel release and understand twice as many references and catch way more Easter eggs. Thanks Variant.
Yes this is what I started doing. And I gave up mostly on paying to much attention to the MCU movie verse. I enjoy the EU so much more. And after infinity war I haven't enjoyed any movies they've done.
@@yeeheestoner223 wouldnt it still be a spoiler to know which source material its getting its influence from? These videos usually arent wrong with their predictions so it makes sense to avoid them.
Back here after the Loki season one finale. Gotta say, I was skeptical at first of Jonathan Major's appearance being just a regular guy (just to note I do love his character portrayal), but it makes sense now since he wasn't the Conqueror variant which was shown in statue form at the end of the episode.
And thats what makes him more interesting. If you think the wacky unhinged He who remains version of Kang in Loki wasn't evil enough, what more could you imagine if we truly got to see the real Kang
I truly appreciate your breakdowns of these characters in a very direct way. Some RU-vidrs just talk or ramble for minutes without expressing any bullet points to their character breakdown. Its fine, but in the end they just talk. Thanks bro 🤙🏻🤙🏻
To boil it all down kang is a character that has hopped around different timelines and created different versions of himself in each world and has crossed paths with many different heroes
I just read the Marvel's Villains book, a collection of short stories from the pov of the baddies, and Kang has an excellent story in it. He succeeded in taking over the Earth of the Marvel universe and kills all the heroes. But resistance keeps popping up everywhere and people will just not accept his rule. He takes on various allies but they make things worse, treating the people so bad that they revolt even harder. Don't want to spoil the ending but, like all off the stories in the book, the villains aren't the "pure evil" that they appear to be at first. Well worth tracking down simply because it isn't the usual hero stories. The Venom and Absorbing Man one was a fav for me, as was the Carnage story.
I'm surprised he didn't mention the Young Avengers first run, which is centered around Kang trying to defeat himself, and no mention of Children's Crusade, which his time traveling causes shinaigans as well (including bringing Scott Lang back to life)
nathaniel richard : being the good variant of myself is sucks , proceed to suicide by female Loki , and his last word was "just wait till you see the burden that i had for eternity"
Even if he fixes his timeline Another version of him is the one who's gonna benefit the fixed reality But this kang will remain with his past unchanged
I was wondering how Marvel could keep up to par with their magnificent infinity war... this. This is how. Loki is such a good show man and it lays the groundwork for every phase 4 story coming out
Watched Loki Ep 6 and ran straight here! Jonathan Majors absolutely killed it with his MCU debut and ushered in the MCM (Marvel Cinematic Multiverse)!! Can't wait for the repercussions of Immortus' death!
Yep, the fact that he has no powers but still is one of the strongest villains is just done very well imo... I hope the actor displays him like I imagine him.
compared to the wiggles? pokemon? lmao that was the most pathetic shit i've ever seen!! XD im so glad you losers only have about a year left of this shit before higher ups realise how much money is being lost lmao
King never presented as a *bad guy* on the Avenger cartoons in my opinion he has presented as a grieving individual that has lost everything and separately trying to reinstate what he had lost through and through
Huh? What are u talking about Kang is one of their biggest villains and tries to kill them all the time… he chose death of the avengers over the life of the love of his life
I am sure, there will be thousands of views after Loki s1 finale. After all, Jonathan Majors as One Who remains has been called by many names, Conquerer being one of them ;-;-
So the complete timeline of Kang goes something like this: Nathaniel Richards -> Rama -Tut -> Scarlet Centurion -> Kang The Conqueror -> Immortus ->Iron Lad (technically)
Want to be confused more? He is not only Reed Richards’ descendant but also Reed’s dad. He’s also a descendant of dr doom but implied to also be Dr Doom
@@pious83 he is both. Read Hickmans fantastic four. He strongly implies Reed’s dad is a version of Kang. 1) Immortus is the ruler of a timeline full of variants of Reed’s dads 2) the Beast, a version of Nathaniel Richards lives and rules Chronopolis (which is Kangs base of operation) 3) Reed’s dad admits he is all versions of Nathaniel Richards. Kang is a paradox. Because he has a full mastery of time he is his own descendant
@@djmaydraws3862 I have read it and your interpretation of most of these events is a bit muddled. Reed's 616 dad went into the future of 6311. Brought peace to that world. From that world, _a_ Nathanial Richards was born. Who became Rama-Tut/Scarlet Centurion/Kang/Immortus/Iron Lad etc etc Nathanial Richards says he is all versions of himself, because he is a time traveller. _Not_ everyone with that name.
They’ve been comfortable doing that lol i remember when it was one ad and you could always skip it . Shit i remember when there was no ads back in 2010😂
It's awesome that you guys will be making your own comic series! I think you are the first comics company that will produce and write a comic book series! You guys have been amazing and watch your videos everytime I get a notification! Keep it up!
I remember reading one of the young avengers comics where his younger self is good but has to become evil and go back to the past or it would mess up the timeline
@@MrHammerman97 The MCU timelines isn't based on comics. I.e civil war had many other superheroes participating than the ones we saw on the 2016 movie.
@@Phizzo4real I.. Didn’t say that was Kang.. I knew that was a variant of him.. I’m just saying that I will be more excited if I saw the Kang figure for the first time when he does the explanation stuff… I will be like, “Wait, he’s a variation of Kang?!”…
Cool. I knew the bare minimum about Kang already (time traveler from the future, likes to time travel, uses future tech and weapons, enemy of The Avengers) so this was very helpful.
@@cameronmimnagh4395 yeah based on Loki I’m pretty sure he is. When the avengers went back in time I’m sure that caused a bunch of nexus events that Kangs gotta deal with. He’s also been casted for ant-man 3
I never considered myself a "comic nerd" until I saw a variant of Kang in the Loki Series, that converted me because Johnathon Majors played his role so well that I became obsessed with researching what other kinds of variants he'll portray. I didn't even know that Kang was a major villain in the MCU until I watched the Loki series and started looking this stuff up. I have watched every RU-vid related to Kang and I'm reading related material as well. I'm excited to see other variants of Kang-- Jonathon Majors, Tom Hiddleston, and all of The Avengers cast did an excellent job appealing to those of us who are not as familiar with comic book characters that never made it live to action movies. Most of my knowledge of comics comes from watching cartoons like X-Men, Spiderman, and Batman back in the 1992 to 1997. I never read the actual comic books because I was too poor to buy stuff as a kid.
Kang is confirmed for Ant man 3 and is going to be played by Jonathan Majors. There’s frequent references to him in Loki too so maybe he’ll be in the last episode
@@Eli_Perbtani never said I didn't know him. The way they using Kang in the mcu is different than the way how they are using him in the comics. I think the mcu will actually brings more substance out his story. But its just my opinion.
Thanos: "I am inevitable". Ultron: "You're all puppets tangled in strings". Loki: "You are all beneath me!". Agatha: "And I killed Sparky too!". He Who Remains (Kang Variant): "See you soon"
