Land Rover from Series I to the new Range Rover sport. Covers the birth the the Land Rover brand, Series, Defender, Range Rover, competition with Jeep, the Discovery, Camel Trophy and modern times.
@@drueskillz you missed the point. What he said was when you're into Land Rovers since a kid. You'll get addicted, once you saw it as a favorite vehicle, you can't get that thought away from you. I'm 17, I even willing to buy one for myself with my money I saved. Regardless if the car was from 1969 and an old project.
I had a 1997 defender 110 300tdi csw. My biggest regret is selling it! Amazing motors. Even when I was dew a new set of tyres she got me out of some pretty bad situations.
bela roba in vista il mio veicolo preferito e ? = grande " Land Rover Discovery sere 2 " !!!! in piu apsaluto e praticamente greande sognio nel casateo !!!!!
to bad that the land rovers that are coming are going to be a little soft, too much luxury, like pretty light colored interieur (i love it to), which will be completely destroyed if you go in the car with your muddy shoes after the offroading. and all these electronics: you cant just fix your land rover discovery 4 like lets say, defender 90. but still I love Land Rover alot. Always the best :)
I had a 96' Land Cruiser. Full time 4wd was awful on gas though, but I did have a heavy foot. Hmm. Ive had Jeep Wranglers, a Suburban, a Blazer Tahoe LT, a Dodge Dakota and now a Mazda MPV 4WD. Four wheel drive is a beautiful thing
This poor company has been thrown around so much. They were recently sold by Ford and bought by some Indian company. And they are already making some pretty drastic changes to the brand. I hope to see the legacy stick around...
Its another dream we Brits have and have lost !!!Why Oh Why do we do this ??????? Create a dream machine then sell it for nothing to some one else " Concord comes to mind as does Rolls Royce and Bentley and jaguar Triumph T.V.R. etc etc etc We would sell our Granny's short term for god sake when will we learn ???????We do have talent We do have style well not like the Italians but not far off !! Look at the spitfire plane beat the best with little resources Now we have sold the best 4x4 by far to frigging T.A. T.A. and to cap it all we no longer have the famous Defender What the hell I some times just give up with this country and don't say its down to finance cos that's a load of bollocks
Best 4wd ever made is the SWB Nissan GQ patrol 4.2 diesel. nothing really comes close off road, and if it did I guarantee you it wouldn't last as long.
Wow nice vid. It's a pity to see the vehicles become worse and worse no new techniques are introduced. Landrover listen to your fans and leave everything like it is!
First let me point out that the video is a great advertisement for the Land Rover brand and its cars. I've read many of the comments below and some are quite amusing: Brits x Americans...JEEP X Land Rovers...some saying bad things about the unreliability of the Land Rovers compared to the reliability of the japanese brands - Toyota with the Land Cruiser (a bit of a name rippoff) and Nissan - Patrol. I've never had the pleasure to own a Land Rover myself, despite being quite inclined (emotionally NOT rationally) to buying one, but I do own a Mitsubishi PAJERO (SHOGUN in UK, and MONTERO in US and other countries) and I have lots of good things to say about it too, so let me start...first it is really a very tough car, able to climb mountains, travel on dirt roads, go through mud, rivers, sand and anything that our beloved mother earth has to offer in terms of terrain. Second it does so offering a very good level of comfort to its occupants, with low levels of noise inside the cabin, with comfortable space and leather seats, air-conditioning and other amenities. Third, it is very reliable, and that is very important also. It gets you where you need to go and it brings you back home safe and sound. It does not break on you on the middle of the desert, so to speak. That's why it was 12 times winner of the Rally Paris-Dakar!!! In some of the editions of the Rally Paris-Dakar, not less than 8 out of the top 10 competitors that finished that competition were driving a PAJERO/MONTERO/SHOGUN!! So now think about a reliable car under extremely harsh conditions: PAJERO IS IT!!! Brazil, Africa, Australia, and other parts of the world it can tackle the tough terrain, being some of the best in its class. Very underated car I must add. If Land Rover has CAMEL TROPHY (and I dearly remember it as I was a young teenager in the 80's and 90's) MITSUBISHI has PARIS-DAKAR!!! As you can see I'm a fan of the MITSUBISHI car named PAJERO here in Brazil, but I deeply respect also the Land Rover fans, the JEEP fans, the LAND CRUISER fans and others. We all seek cars that are great company to us and to our loved ones when we travel, and we love that these cars can take us where we want to go to explore and enjoy the world around us, specially outdoors, to see the beautiful nature and its scenery. Best of luck to you all!!!
Roberto: what you say is it all true, but I think the only reason why the Pajero/Montero line it never was a major success it´s because of Mitsubishi marketing and sales policies, since Pajero/Montero was design only to be a competitor to the Range Rover, and never has a spread models variety, like Patrol and Land Cruiser did (long/short chassis with multiple body options: troopy carrier, open pick-up 2/4 doors, sation wagon 3/5 doors short and long, etc, etc). Pajero/Montero only offers a very narrow range of options, and was design as a true "premium" 4x4, (I think it was the first in it´s class to offer a independant suspension in the front axle) one of the first, it is true, but nothing more came after, and thats way the sales never been outstanding, more than in it´s own niche. Regards!
I want to have Series III here in Russia or at least Defender (ex-military) but after calculation of the import customs fees and found out that I pay twice more than originak price of the vehicle, this is sad
don't you have classic car rules for import and export like north america? if it's over 15 years old and has no a/c ,no fees..other than basic state sales tax, not federal import fees...if it has a/c you have to pay a enviromental fee.
I wish I could say that I've driven a Land Rover, but sadly I haven't. However, a cousin of mine in England has a Range Rover, the luxury version of the Land Rover, and I got to ride in it. As plush as the Range Rover may have been, it was still capable of going off road if one wanted to.
Does anyone happen to know where I might find a good o'l used 1973 109 rover in the U.S. for a low price? I live in Baldwin Wisconsin just so you know. Thank You. :)
If Land Rovers are really as bad as you say then why have military forces used them. Don't get me wrong Land Cruisers and Wranglers are good but these cars are quite tough.
Jeep or toyota havent been introduced to all the utility versions of land rovers have been, i mean, land rover have been used for farming firefighters army public services and expedition car, and 70% of old rovers still going on road.
@@zane1os it was designed and built by bantam...u.s. governemnt gave the contract to ford and willy's to meet the demand..the px 33 is nothing like a jeep..only similarity is they both have 4 wd.
Jeeps were designed to be single use throw away military vehicles, they didn't even have oil filters on the engine as it wasn't expected they would last long enough in combat to need an oil change.
Any Body that thinks that Land Rover's are Rubbish Don't know what they are Talking about and the Mechanics that can not fix them are Too Dumb to fix Them. I should know Because I'm a Mechanic with Technical skills that Super Seeds most Mechanics, I have Owned Land Cruisers, Nissan Patrols and I Broken Axels, the Land Rover Discovery 3 has never Let me down and Parts are Cheaper than Toyota Parts. For all Land Rover Parts at John Craddock UK or Britpart Thanks Lads!!
"A little luxury and the ability to go anywhere" hear that Land Rover? Why can't we have a 40,000 dollar Land Rover? I don't need my car to be the pinnacle of ventilated seating or whatever they do now that cost 80k.
all thos eimplements all the attachments were all designed and invented by jeep.. why don't they say what they mean... almost as good as a jeep but you don't have to buy it from a yankee...btw ..thank you for all your young men that died protecting us and the whole idea for the vehicle, but we wouldn't want to lower ourselves to admit the truth and purchase a vehicle from you..we'll top it off by using an american buick v-8 and say it was ours..s
My '77 2 door V8 Range Rover, dreadful unreliable car, nosiest 4 speed box you could imagine. Had to use a blowtorch on it to expand the case for a rebuild. Drive through small puddles would stall the engine. Ignition had to be replaced, as the original is known to be rubbish. All parts are really expensive. Rust in hard to clean places is a MAJOR problem. Sand particles get into the CV joints, seizing the hubs so that they must be cut off with a gas axe, I'm not exaggerating. I could go on. Do yourself a favour, avoid these cars like the plague., oh did I mention, the V8, holy cow, the most gutless "V8" imaginable....
Unreliable overpriced rubbish. Look at the JD Power dependability report for 2019. Im not bothered about the badge on the front, people buy into labels and trends because they cant think for themselves. Id sooner have a Toyota Landcruiser any day over anything Land Rover produce.
"Look at the JD Power dependability report for 2019"🤓. Did you ask Google for that answer? What does that have something to do with an old Rover? You should mentioned the newer models that are computer on wheels, the old school pre 2000 was dependable, and reliable. The basic 3.5l v8, 200tdi and 300tdi engine are quite common to reach 500k miles. Hell the reason why did they still produce those tdis engine in Brazil for third world countries when they already had create the official new td5 5 pot engine to public. I think those people right, people like you did get brainwashed by media regarding the Range Rover reliability. Yall even can't spot the difference between a Land Rover and a Range Rover
his wife should have bought a willy's sport utility vehicle..they had been in production for years by that point..jeep had gone from the tip of south america to the top of north america years before the land rover or the range rover..that's where they got the idea.., they couldn't do it like jeep though.. the jeep could do it better for cheaper and still can..it was and is the yuppies and hipster douches that buy them. people with no experience off roading or any need for one.. that's why you have to train them..
patrickmaky42 Hey I'm glad I pissed you off..that's my purpose. And I don't give a FUCK about your opinion, you are just a worthless ignorant Brit I would't take a dump on.... Ramble on Limey...
patrickmaky42 OH a glass of milk !!! how grown up. Did you Mommie warm it up for you??? Is your diaper changed??? You're not only pissed off you're pissed on......
patrickmaky42 You critisize me for using "Your" language that you can't even make a proper sentence in. "I'm sat here with......." should be " I'm SITTING here with...You dumb little fuck head.
