I bought Henry's 1860 in .45 LC. Absolutely pristine and gorgeous!

the 45 long colt round when first produced had a smaller base than the main body of cartridge and the Winchester mod 1873 extraction rod could not actually grip the base that's why it was chamber in 44 - 40 as the base was wider and the rifle worked better with that caliber weapon also it's same reason the schofield revolver was chambered in 44 as the extraction mechanism would not work on the original 45 long colt ammo it was very strange how the 1873 ordnance review also stated that all rifle and pistols need to be chambered in a caliber of 45 or above thus ruling out both the Winchester repeating rifle and smith & wesson schofield revolver as the US cavalry had shown they preferred the schofield revolver as was reloadable much easier a specialy on horse back according to the army or dance department 45 call was needed as more stopping power but veterans from civil war said that 44 call was more that adequate during civil war and now there were center fire cartridges available and these had much high power than rim fire or cap and ball conversion revolvers that were used in the civil war such a pity Mr colt dint lissen to Mr rolin white back in 1854 when presented with his design for a pistol using a board through cylinder and that used self contained metal cartridges must have been his worst dession ever and cost colt dearly over the 17yrs until the patent round out

Nice video. I just purchased a Glenfield 30a and it takes me back to my 30-30 days. Looking forward to using it this winter and looking for more lever action rifles. I’ve been bitten by the bug !!

You left out the Winchester model 76. And how about a Single Shot Lever Action with a Falling Block Breech? A Winchester model 1885, or a Ruger Number One.

Be nice to get a 30-30 lever action back in stock. Any word from Remington-Marlin?

Well if you're interested in a Henry I got ya man. As for Marlin, they seem to be rolling out pretty slow.. We've gotten a few 45-70 Marlins in lately but that's about it

There's no ammo for the "Guns that won the West". No 44-40 anyway. When are you going to get some. Remember I bought my Winchester Colt commemorative set from Carter's Country. All it needs is some 44-40.
