Sorcery at the University of Paris was condemned in a series of 28 articles on September 19 1398. What might this condemnation reveal to us about the actual theory and practice of illicit magic and necromancy in the middle ages? Here we find the world of the transgressive student Goliard poets, philosophy and theological heterodoxy among the faculty and a wide range of magical practices among both at the medieval University of Paris.
