With the 100th anniversary of the granddaddy of all SF epic films, METROPOLIS, coming in 2027, I am really hoping that there will be a cinema re-release of the restored version of this all-time classic film, so that cinephiles (like me!) can have the opportunity to see this masterpiece on a big screen!
That's a great idea. I wish more films would be re-released into theaters. It's important to see these films on the big screen to really get a sense of their magnificence.

Green Archer was serial films in 1925 might have inspired Green Arrow. While 1926's The Bat a serial could have been inspiration for Batman and Cat woman originally called The Cat that wore Cat headed mask similar to the Bat's Bat headed Mask. It also had dark automobile, mansion, climbing rope, and bat signal although shined from his belt.
There were some really great movies released during this period. Years ago I read the story that Edgar Rice Burroughs, promoting his book, The Lost World, presented some of the preliminary stop-motion shots from the movie (that was still in production) as proof that his story was in fact, true! Apparently many people were fooled.

My motheer telled me of a sci fi movie "The Dragonfly War" of explosive evolution of dragonflies to plane size and attacking mankind one of the dragonflies catching a plane and eating the pilot out of it.
It would be interesting to note how much some of these films performed at the box office. Did audiences then have the same response as say, modern audiences have for 2001, Star Wars or Jurassic Park?
