Todd McFarlane is saying that he wanted to do a new Gen movie but it'd have to be a solid R and he wasnt sure how an R rated marvel movie would make ppl feel. until he saw Deadpool he started writing a script and now they're working on casting.

One of my favorite action figures as a kid was the Spawn figure I had that came with like 8 massive guns,the big armored boot on his leg and a removable cape.

When I was a kid I was an INSANE fan of Spawn. I used to drive my mom crazy making her drive me around to all the toy stores looking for Spawn action figures. I remember when the movie came out I went nuts looking for the limited edition Spawn movie action figure. I wish they could come out with another Spawn movie, Idris Elba playing as Al Simmons, with the 2015 technology a Spawn movie could be amazing.

Yes, then became God, then became board with his absolute power and decided he didn't want to be God anymore which summited his reputation as one of the most badass characters of all time.

Yep. Man of Miracles, aka Jesus, aka Mother, etc gave Spawn the power boost to put a stop to God and Satan(his/her children) bickering. Because God and Satan are both immortal and can't simply be killed he used his immense new power to create a pocket dimension to trap the both of them and tricked them into fighting each other eternally.

To be honest, at that point the writing was pretty bad, but the things going on were insane. Fighting angels, demons, Old Gods, God and Satan then just doing his best Dr. Doom impression and stopped being all mighty because he got bored and shit. Spawn gives no fucks.

Never in a million years would Todd do that. Arie is right. Marvel and DC both adhere to the "no killing" code. It would completely butcher Spawn.

But since Spawn is more of a anti hero kinda character I thought big companies like Marvel will make him more popular. I think Spawn will also suit more in the Marvel universe rather than DC's ones.

Lance Fier Keyword used: characters. Yes characters kill. But not the HEROES. Not the main characters. Even their Anti-Hero types hardly ever kill and if they do its some kind of unspeakable evil monster they must kill. In Spawn Undead he straight up murders people he deemed "evil" in the most sadistic ways possible. Even as an anti-hero there is no way in those pansy as Marvel and DC universes they would allow that.

Spawn is the absolute best character outside of the two giant companies (you guys know who they are). The feature film was nice but it was the animated HBO series (with extreme respect to Keith David) that really brought Spawn to life for me. Nothing tops that series (in my opinion of course). Spawn needs so much more recognition, especially when done right by people who love the character. Thanks for the video.

I would have thought Batman and Spider-Man were my favorite mags growing up, Superman being a close third. But as I look back at my collection, and I see Spawn #1-100, each bought the week they came off the press, I think hey, man, Spawn was clearly my top book as a teen. It's also what made me go back and get the entire McFarlane run in Amazing (well, to be fair my appreciation of McFarlane truly began when I got that self-titled #1, but I clocked out of that series in, what, the #20s-ish? Spawn wasn't my favorite, but it defined me as a collector.

Spawn is a brilliant superhero. Mcfarlane created a dark world that is equal to Batman/Gotham. Obviously Mcfarlane wanted to break the mainstream superhero mould that was just white men and made Spawn black! I applaud this move. I love the storylines in Spawn...Morana and Endgame to name but a few. I just hope that a new Spawn Animated series will be as good as the original. Also, the new movie will be much better than the below par original.

Jaden Harrod Mcfarlane is trying to get a studio to help release it. The animated series is all there but still needs a studio. Google..."Spawn Animated 2015" it states where Mcfarlane is with it. The movie is early production.

The Hellfire Club! Well the thing is, McFarlane has been trying to get a new Spawn film created for about 15 years now. It's got no traction at the moment, no studio is willing to work with him. He might as well finance the entire thing himself, keep it low budget. He has the money.

There was talk that McFarlane wrote a script back in January of 2016 with the hopes he would direct it, but nothing ever came of it. I do agree. They need a reboot from that disgrace of a movie back in the late 90's.

***** They are pretty different. The one Arris talked on is just Spawn/Batman by Image, the other is Batman/Spawn: War Devil (Written by 3 folks, including Allan Moore). I am not at home right now, but if I remember they had different plots. Neither was too important but it was a nice little one shot. They fought, of course.

man in my high school days 94-98 I collected all of Spawn's items had all the current comics, minus number 1 and 3, the first edition figures, t shirts, the dragster, went to the comic con in Charlotte, NC every year he signed many of my items, love, love love, Todd McFarlane and Spawn, but it was all for not, my mom put all of our items in a storage container, never paid the bill, never got a chance to get the stuff, bc I never knew it was in a storage building, really painful.............

Growing up, I only liked spawn for the dark and mystical imagery, but now that I'm reading with a much more mature mindset I noticed there was a lot of political undertones undertones that flew over my head, now there were some political aspects of the story that were blatant and direct, even when I was younger I understood them, but the ones I'm talking about are the subtle ones I didn't notice when I was first reading it.

I wish I could message rocksteady games with an idea for a spawn game. The last Arkham game had some Spawn vibes to me, constant dark rainy lit up city with a dark crime infested atmosphere that could easily have some hellish foes in there. I always loved the Batman / Spawn crossover, especially for the fact that Batman throws a batarang into Spawns face that he fixes by using a kids shoelace, and then for several issues of Spawn after that he still has the shoelace in his face. Usually in comics they would have just made it where his face healed up just like almost all wounds a character gets ever, but in Spawn they actually just added the wound to the character.

When I first learned of Spawn, I was walking past the living room to the kitchen to microwave a hungry man dinner when i was like 12, and I saw an animated scene from HBO Spawn of some dude smashing some chick in a staircase. At The time I thought it was a wrestling cartoon of The God Father choking some chick out. To which i started beat boxing his theme. "Bawh... Bawh... Bawh... Bawh noh noh, den nuh tit... dun tit, den nun tit.. dun tit". as I pimp walk into the room. My mom changed the channel and kicked me out. Ever since then she treated me like I was way more knowledgeable than I actually was. Skipped the sexy talk and everything.

Todd took the ideas from when he was working with Marvel on Spider-Man. He of course worked on Spider-Man when Venom was being developed and added some Ghost Rider in the mix and you get Spawn.
