Hi. Very nice video. Shout out to all the true centerline thrust gyroplanes out there. It would have been nice if you could mention Aviomania gyroplanes as well in a future video. Very stable and true centerline thrust design.

Hi yes agree what year did that aircraft come out??

As I understand it, the pushover problem does not exist on tractor-propeller {i.e., non-pusher prop} autogyros like the Ciervas, due to the _physics_ {for lack of a better word} of how the thrust is applied to the airframe.

Hi well for practical purposes I think the only aircraft flying now is the Little wing. I dont know much about that aircraft in truth. But you could still have a high thrust line in a tractor aircraft.
@christospsaras7582
@christospsaras7582 4 года назад
It does exist. It doesn't matter if you are pulling or pushing, the line of thrust must pass through the center of gravity. Cierva new this and had the tractor engine tilted downwards so the line of thrust passed thought the center of gravity. it is easier to modify the tractor design in order to achieve this

@@gyrocopterflyingclub6148 >>> I came across something online several months ago about this. Whatever it was mentioned the Little Wing, and it might have been a webpage ABOUT that autogyro. I do not remember for sure.

@@christospsaras7582 >>> What I read _might_ have said the effect is _less significant_ when the autogyro is a tractor configuration. As I just mentioned to _Gfc,_ it was so long ago I read it, I cannot really remember any details.

Thank you Phil! How hard can a gyro be pushed over with out power on?
@gyrocopterflyingclub6148
@gyrocopterflyingclub6148 4 года назад
Hi that’s not an easy question to answer in that it is going to be aircraft dependent but i think the question relates to the effect of power v no power? In aircraft where power push over was an issue (I.e those with high thrust line) the effect of being power off means that the rate of pitch won’t be built at the same rate. But a caution. Obviously in all case of this kind of bunt you are loosing rotor thrust as the aircraft experiences

Thank you for the response. One of my favorite approaches for landing is to position in a high hover into the wind over the numbers. As I reach my approach Altitude, I’ll push the nose over with out power to dive in to gain speed to execute the landing. I’ve always wondered, how hard\far can I push the nose over. I know there is a line at some point. At some attitude the relative wind would pass along the top and into the rotor disk from the top of the disk and cause problems. I only search for this answer for education, I am happy with the amount of push ose over that I have successfully completed many times. Auto-Gyrp Mto sport.

This is the stall spin of gyroplanes and if I'm ever going to fly one I need to figure out how not to do it... at all, it looks like. At any altitude or airspeed.

boa tarde amigo projeto auto gyro radio controlado rc no desenho ai no inicio o cg esta abaixo da linha do impuxo do motor esta correto isto ? nos meus estao na mesma linha ou um pouco abaixo
@gyrocopterflyingclub6148

A questão é o grau em que o CG é deslocado para a linha de empuxo do motor, porque quanto maior, maior o efeito sobre a estabilidade da aeronave com as mudanças de potência do motor.

Just wondering if you will be doing an episode on the recent Circumnavigations by Gyros. Norman Surplus flew 1.5 times around the world in a MT-03 open cockpit gyro to become the first ever gyro-pilot to do this feat. I think any history of the gyro must include this amazing effort.

@@gyrocopterflyingclub6148 I sure do. I was part of the flight support team and have a lot of info and images etc. But Norman himself would be happy to chat with you...please send me a message at arcturas@live.co.uk and I will see what I can do...

One could also potentially construct an engine mounting frame that would work as a CG governor, such that negative g loading would automatically reposition the engine by proportion below the "normal" CG to prevent CG torque imbalances.
@gyrocopterflyingclub6148

maybe but think regulation [ to ensure no unintended consequences] and on going maintenance of the mechanism...
@Zuckerpuppekopf
@Zuckerpuppekopf 3 года назад
@@gyrocopterflyingclub6148 I'm sure something could be engineered for such, obviously there is no such current tech. And it doesn't have to be the engine, the cockpit could be gimballed instead, like a smart shock absorber for the cabin. You could use any weighty part of the structure. Vertical dampening only, of course, since therein lies the dangerous moment of motion. It would probably be hard to do it on a small craft like that though since it would eat into weight budgets.
